Talmon was at the trading station, one of the only skills he had was business so he enjoyed it here. He sold a prime rib to a peacekeeper, those were usually his main customers. Then an old lady walked up "can you please give me just one morsel, please sonny" the woman pulled out an old charm with an old minituare bird skull attached to it. There were beads and feathers on it to. Talmon didnt want to say no so he picked up some left over grindings that weren't spoiled. He looked around and made sure no peacekeeper saw that. Then he saw his friend dane walk up, he waved lightly and asked "hello dane, how's it going?"

Dane strolled along with his hands folded behind his head, passing people along the way. He flashed his trademark smile at Talmon whom he lovingly called 'Legs' because of the long, lanky build that he possessed. "Hey Legs! I figured I would find you here." He made his way over to the table his friend had set himself at. "You are way too nice. Accepting a token for some of that meat?" Dane grabbed the charm and flipped it in his hand a few times. He put it in his pocket, "Hey thanks for the charm." He said jokingly.

Talmon had always somewhat enjoyed the nicknames dane gave. He knew dane was joking by taking the necklace, but he honestly liked it and wanted it back "um hey, would you mind giving that back. I kind of like it."

Dane reached into his pocket and grabbed the necklace. He threw the charm underhand to Talmon. "Eh..its too tacky for my taste anyways." He leaned against the table, supporting his body on one arm. "So did you get anything else good or anything interesting happen?" Although Dane was much more of the outgoing type he never liked being in the business areas. This really wasn't his thing, negotiating and the like.

Outfit

Maya was passing by the upper district, about to buy some food for Lacey and Blue, her dogs, when she noticed a shop that seemed to be selling meat. That'll do, she decided, and began to walk over to Talmon's stand. She had spoken to the boy a few times before, but didn't know the other one next to him. Maya had a bad feeling about the conversation that was about to occur. She didn't know why, but just in case, she grabbed a medium-sized stone from the ground and tossed in her hand lightly. Just a precaution, she thought, slipping it into the pocket of her jean shorts.

"Excuse me, do you have anything for dogs? I can trade you in milk, wool, or cheese, or just pay you, either way," she offered, motioning to a large black bag that was hanging loosely on her shoulder with dirt stains running up and down its coarse fabric exterior. She had used the bag since she was little whenever she needed to carry a lot of goods. "I have two dogs, and they won't herd sheep if they're hungry," she added, speaking to Talmon.

Talmon saw the girl walk up, he has definitely talked to Maya before. Probably in school. well if its a big dog, this loin chop will do, and should be repaid with a medium serving of that cheese. a small dog would like this smaller chop, which a bottle of milk would be a good trade for." Talmon was great at trading and knowing even values. He really enjoyed it though because its something that helped him talk to strangers.

Maya smiled. "Great. Loin chop it is," she said passively. "You want goat cheese or cow cheese?" she asked, getting the cheeses out of her bag. "I have both." They were wrapped tightly in many layers of cloth, but she unwrapped two medium-sized cubes of cheese and set them out for him to choose from. Maya noticed the other guy who had been standing there, and nodded politely in his general direction before turning back to Talmon. "It's Tal-something, right? Talmon?" Maya didn't really care what his name was, but she felt like rambling and making small talk.

Dane flashed smile at the girl, Maya who had walked up. She quickly looked away though. Looks like an opportunity for some fun. He walked over and picked up the block of goat cheese. He examined it for a moment then set it down. He faced Talmon, "Legs, you don't want to keep the nice girl waiting, just pick one." He flashed a bright smile at Maya and even gave a little wink. "So, sweetheart do you come here often? I haven't ever seen you around." Dane slid a little closer to her, trying to show off as much as he could. Yes...this would be fun indeed.

Maya turned around slowly and raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me?" she retorted, obviously offended. I knew this wouldn't end well. she thought. I'd better hold off on the rock in case it gets worse... For a moment, Maya faced Tal again and handed him the squishier of the two cheeses, the goat cheese. "Goat's better, anyway," she said, not paying attention to him or her words. "But you can have the cow if you want. I need a moment." When she spun around again, she was in full-on death-glare mode, her fiery amber eyes smoldering with a look of rage that could burn holes in your soul. She brought her hand up and slapped him hard against the cheek with her palm, not afraid to dig in her nails, and ripped her hand away. Maya was in a bit of a mood. "If you call me sweetheart again or refer to me as 'the nice girl' ever again, I will see that each fingernail on your hand is torn off as slowly and painfully as possible, force you to eat them, then stick the bloodied stumps that used to be your fingers into the fire until they turn into charcoal, at which point I will cut them off and feed them to my dogs," she spat, eerily calm. "Do you understand me?"

Talmon watched as the girl basically made a death threat at dane. He awkwardly looked both ways and walked over to dane"h-hey buddy, you should probably lay off. I-I know that you want to keep your fingers so I would suggest um you leaving, dude.he scooped the softer cheese into a bandana and folded it. He turned to Maya and gave a reassuring half smile.

Dane just held his had to his red face. His cheek was warm and stung a little when he first touched it. He rubbed it a bit then smiled. "Now you...I like you. You are fiesty." But to Talmon's comment he was almost a little hurt. Talmon normally just awkwardly laughed whenever Dane made an outrageous comment or flirted with a girl in front of him. This was a little out of character for him to tell him to leave. But then again, Maya did just threaten to gut his fingers off. Dane was used to it though. It seemed girls either loved him or hated him. There was no grey area, and he liked it that way. It made it easier for him to have his fun that way. "Ow Legs, you wound me. Fine...I guess if you want me to leave than I will just go. You can walk home by yourself then." Dane slowly started to walk off. He was mainly waiting for Talmon to come to his senses and tell him not to go. Something that he normally did when Dane made similar threats in the past.

Maya raised an eyebrow. She grabbed the rock from her pocket and chucked it at Dane, not looking to see whether or not it hit him. She did not want to prolong this conversation any longer than it needed to be carried out. She took the loin chop she had bought and stuck it in her bag, then stormed off, fists clenched. She hated people like that. Maya was normally perfectly fine with guys. She had more male friends than she had ever had female friends. But then there was Estrella... No, Maya thought forcefully, pushing the bad memories away. Don't think about that. Not now. Still, this kind of person, regardless of gender, made her blood boil. She supposed it was just a pet peeve, but she really did feel like strangling someone. Why have I never strangled anyone before? Maya wondered. Then she froze, realizing what the answer was. Because Ella was always there to stop me... Without hesitation, Maya spun back around on her heel, marched back over to Dane, and punched him in the face. "Don't you ever speak to me like that again," she threatened, stooping to pick up another rock from the ground. "Or I will take this rock and use it to break your face."

Talmon was shocked that the girl had done that to his friend, his eyes bursted wide open out of shock. What the York did didn't feel right so he wanted to talk to her. He walked over to her and asked nicely so a rock wasn't thrown at him "listen um... Maya, yes I know, dane can be like... A total meat wad sometimes... But I don't think that was the right thing to do. Um so. Well I'm going to walk home... You can say anything you want to dane" he walked away from the stand back to his own building

Dane took the punch, then smirked a bit towards Maya. He walked towards Talmon who managed to wander off. He jogged a pit to catch up. Dane rubbed his jaw a little, "Wow sweetheart hits like a girl." He chuckeled a bit at his own joke. "So, where we gonna go to? Don't think your getting out of hanging out with me. I say let's go to to the fields." Although normally Dane would have liked to stay and mess with Maya some more, but he decided that his face really couldn't take the beating right now. Besides Talmon was just as fun to mess with.

After nodding apologetically to Tal, Maya narrowed her amber eyes and growled, purposely stomping on Dane's toe with her heel and glaring at him intensely. "I warned you not to call me that," she hissed. If looks could kill, Dane would have been dead by now. "You'd better watch out. I don't let go of grudges," she threatened, dead-serious. "Ever." Maya shifted past him, stomping off in the other direction and slamming a rock into a random innocent passerby's face, who promptly crumpled to the floor in shock. She ignored this and was walking back home, when she realized she was feeling more alive than she had in a long time, what with the rage she was feeling, and decided to release some energy by doing something dangerous. Maya smiled in dark delight and turned the corner, trying to put the day's experience out of her mind.
