---District 1---Male---17---

Abel had been at the Training Center for what seemed like hours. It very well may have been, but he hadn't really kept track of the time. He never did while he was there, the hours and minutes always seemed to fly by. He had been using a Claymore, effortlessly stabbing away at the dummies that had been set there for the sole purpose of being hacked away at. He took a moment to take a break and as he looked around he noticed that the center was unusually dead today. Most times there were at least ten to twenty people in their practicing their skills, but today it seemed like there was maybe 5 or 6 including himself there.

Abel could hear someone approaching from behind him as he turned and saw a girl that he had met once or twice before walking near him. He had never really spoken to her, but then again he didn't really talk to a lot of people so it wasn't anything new. He nodded in her general direction as she passed, as a form of friendly greeting or something. He figured he should at least try and make an attempt since he had seen her multiple times before and although he normally wasn't one to start a conversation it seemed that she wasn't either. "...hey" was all he managed to say coolly in her direction.

Gwendolyn "Gwen" Hampton
---District 1---Female---17---

Gwen was focused on her training, she was working hard, she would practice hand to hand combat with a trainer for hours daily and she pushed herself to the limit every day. Gwen threw a punch and then ducked as one came at her and she grabbed the arm and flipped the trainer over her back. Soon Gwen had kicked him in the gut. That's when she offered for him to get back up and then went for twenty minutes at the last round. Soon enough her trainer needed a break so she went and ran through the agility course as swiftly as possible, practically gliding through it. After that she was giving herself a small five minute break and that was it. It was back to training for her after that. She wasn't even nearly done her training. She needed to train hard because without doing so she couldn't improve and if you can't improve your skills you are done for in the games. Gwen would do anything and everything it took to win. She was hungry for a victory and hopefully one day it'd be granted to her.

Gwen had walked over to a table with bottles of water lined up everywhere. She had done a fast walk over and picked up a water bottle. She opened the lid and took small sips after long periods of time. Drinking too much water could be a burden on her shoulders and she practised not eating lots and drinking a lot of water preparing herself extremely for the games. She needed that sense of pride more than anything and no one understood that. Gwen needed something to her name and something to distract others away from thinking she isn't able to handle herself and her sister.

Gwen had finished her water bottle and then decided to stretch out her muscles to keep them nice and not cramp up. She did her small little warm ups to get herself ready. While she braided her hair again fixing it she had then began to walk on over to the knives. Those were simple enough for her to handle but as she was walking over someone said 'hey' to her. She stopped dead in her tracks and she spun on her heel slowly to face the boy.
"What do you want?" She asked coldly. She wasn't one for conversation and she wasn't one to be thrilled someone noticed her.

Abel hadn't been too taken back when the girl gave her icy response. See this is why you do better to stay clear of people. Most of the time they don't want to talk to you. Just let them talk to you that way you don't seem like an idiot He straightened himself up a little and crossed his arms over his chest, tilting his head. "Nothing, just trying to be friendly" He gripped the sword again and lofted it up, decided to just go back to practicing and his training. He slashed away at the dummies, dismembering a few here and there and decapitating a couple in effortless swings. After a little bit of that, he put the Claymore down and moved on to using a knife. Although a knife wasn't his favorite weapon to use he was still pretty skilled with one. It was a standard hunting knife, the blade was an average length with a serrated end and the handle was large enough for his large hands to grip. He started lunging forward and stabbing the dummy as he moved. Abel wasn't the fastest person out there due to his size, but he sure could pack a punch and with each stab the knife went in deeper and deeper into the dummy's stomach. He figured he should practice with this for awhile before moving on to the next thing.

Gwen looked at him with an intense look. No one talked to her, no one gave her the light of day and sometimes she honestly preferred it. Wasting time on trying to get to know someone was pointless and useless now a days and Gwen couldn't stand it. She didn't want to take time out of her day and training just to go about and have friends. They were a distractions and they made you feel things. Emotions weren't for Gwen. "No need to be friendly with me." She responded in a flat tone. Not as cold as before but she still didn't approve of this. There were plenty of things that Gwen could bring up for conversation but none of them were exactly what she wanted to talk about or she just didn't feel the need to talk. Only time she talked to was speak with her sister or answer questions the odd time.

~~~Satin Johaniss~~~District 1~~~17~~~
Yet another year, yet two more tributes had gone to fight for their lives in the arena. And again, it wasn't Satin. With her deep brown locks tied back into a tight pony tail, she angrily stabbed at a dummy with the large hunting knife she'd found lying out for use. When would it be her turn to run into the spot light?! To finally have all eyes one her as she clawed her way through the games?! With a huff she turned beginning to walk away, only to turn and throw the knife squarely into the dummy's heart.
She plopped onto the floor, ripping the hair tie from the back of her head. Next year would be her eighteenth birthday, her last chance to be part of the games. So what if she died? She woudl die an tribute, a great honor in the high districts. Fiddling with the hair tie she looked around at the other citizens utilizing the training center. It was quiet, usually it was packed but she guessed everyone was just watching the games.
Satin didn't want to see the games right now. She wanted to live them, to have the gamemakers surprise her with every turn. What a rush it must be.
Abel continued slashing at the dummy with the knife. The girl had obviously not wanted to be bothered and he really wasn't one to try and push a conversation forwards if it was dead in the water anyways. He sliced a few times but quickly got bored. He didn't really like using a knife, he would rather use a sword, but you never knew what the Gamemakers would throw at you and you had to be ready for anything. Abel put the knife down and grabbed a thing of bottle of water. He sat down for the first time in hours, he hadn't really rested since he got there and as he took a few large sips he just kept his eyes straight forward with the occasional look to the people who also found themselves training.
Valeria Galloway disappears when she is training. She’s no longer the daughter of jewelry store owners. She is just another girl training to be tribute in the Hunger Games. She doesn’t like thinking about the fact she will have to kill in the Hunger Games but she knows she can do it. She only wanted to win so she could mock her parents they rest of their live. She hated them. They are the ones who assigned her the fate of being a future Career tribute. They just take care of her for the money and possible fame. Little do they know she won’t let the get any of that. They’ve trained her too well.
Right now she is zoning in on the trainer she is sparring with. She can tell the trainer is nervous, he ought to be nervous. She blocked another roundhouse kick. She found herself in a position to be but in a headlock, to avoid this she twisted her body around elbowing him in the gut giving her enough time to be able to twist away to a better distance. She sent a roundhouse with as much power she could muster into his side. He went down now groaning in pain on the ground. “Didn’t anyone tell you not to mess with me, or did you not know what I did to the last trainer who tried to pull something on me,” she snarled with a smirk. She walked away from the trainer, if he was smart he would quit otherwise they will meet again and she won’t be as merciful.
She had moved onto archery. She didn’t know why she even did archery but she supposed if she had to find foot she should know how to use one. She brought an arrow up to the string of the bow. She aimed for the head of a dummy about twenty feet away. Then she let the arrow go. As the first arrow was flying in the air she loaded up a second and tired at another dummy aiming for the stomach. After she shot off a few more arrows she decided to go look to see where they had ended up. She wasn’t happy at all when she realized two out of her six arrows had missed; she could do so much better. She now looked at the arrows that had hit. Two arrows to the head, one arrow to the stomach and one more to the dummy’s neck. She still wasn’t pleased with it. She fired six more arrows from the bow. This time they all hit. Two to stomach, two to the neck, one to the head and another in the chest where the heart would be. She was pleased with this and put the arrow back after pulling all of her arrows out of the dummies.
She had to trace her footsteps back to the beginning of the day to find her water bottle. Of course she also had to kill because someone had decided it would be funny to drink all her water and she knew who since they were laughing. She just walked away and filled up the water bottle, she wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of getting her mad. She just found herself a spot all to herself to drink her water. She was debating if she should do knives, swords or maces. She knew all three have been used before in Hunger Games, so which one would be most important. She had no idea. She would decide that in a bit, for right now she could enjoy the moment.
The next day, I forced my self to concentrate on my training. I wanted to go see Desjardins in the hospital but knew I would get in trouble if I did that right now. So instead, I focous on the dummy in front of me and fling a knife at it.
