Rafe chuckled as he responded, "Nope, a few drops of rum and they've been speechless over how good it was". He knew Chris was awake and tickled him. The infant laughed softly before stopping and calming down. "See, they didn't want to disturb their mommy" he told her, leaning in and giving Astrid a quick kiss. All those worries about raising kids she had gotten in her head were slowly slipping away as she had actually gotten to motherhood, and was doing a good job of it in the early stages.

Astrid heard his comment about the rum, and she rolled her eyes, although rum was good, it wasn't meant for babies, she knew that for on things. It wasn't even meant for possible tributes either, but Astrid had been a bit rebellious in her teenage years, wasn't her fault she lived near Astoria. Astrid wasn't a drunk like Astoria was, though. When Rafe tickled Chris and she could hear the little infant laugh, Astrid smiled, "Well, they were good at not disturbing their mommy." Astrid said, and looked down to notice Ruby playing with Astrid's finger, Astrid walked to the couch and sat down still holding Ruby, "And how has Bricks been today?" She asked him as she continued to watch Ruby play with her finger a bit. Being only two weeks old, the twins haven't done much yet but she knew shortly with time that'd change. Soon they'd be crawling around and getting into things and eventually they'd take their first steps as well, it was just all a matter of time.

"Oh boy" Rafe said, watching as Chris pushed himself off the floor with his hands, getting to his feet once again. He kept close enough to the toddler to grab him if he had to, but obviously, the kid wouldn't learn without falling a few times. "Alright Chris, just one foot in front of the other, right?" he said, smiling at Chris, who smiled back and giggled. They'd been at this for a few days on and off, Chris seemed hell bent on learning to walk, Ruby tried sometimes as well, but hadn't gotten an obsession with attempting it. Rafe wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing, he'd not been able to leave Chris alone for fear he might try to walk on the stairs or something. He boy shuffled forwards in a few clumsy steps and wobbled, stopping. "Hey Astrid, I think the kid might've figured it out" he called out into the house. Chris regained his balance slowly, looking fairly determined, as far as two year olds went.

For awhile Rafe and Astrid never really left the house, unless they took their children with them, but recently, Astrid's been more home bound than normal. Astrid knew that downstairs somewhere Rafe was helping Chris learn how to walk. Chris had been determined to walk and try to figure it out. It had been a couple weeks of Chris trying, meanwhile Ruby would only try sometimes. Ruby was more focused on her words, and had more vocab of words than Chris had at the moment. Astrid figured Ruby would try to walk when she wanted to. Ruby was downstairs with the boys anyways, meanwhile Astrid and Michael both had a nap for awhile. Michael was their newest edition to the family. He was only a mere three months old. Eventually Astrid and Michael were just laying there in her bed, seeing as Michael would normally cry if he couldn't sleep beside her, which she knew he'd grow out of once he got a bit older. That was when Rafe's voice came calling out into the house, so Astrid got up and then cradled Michael in her arms, and slowly made her way down the stairs. She came into the room where Chris, Ruby, and Rafe were in and saw Chris standing still. "How many steps has he taken?" She asked Rafe.

Rafe smiled at Astrid as she came into the room with Michael, "Four, so far" he said, watching as Chris took another slow step towards him. "Five" he added. Looking at Michael and then to Astrid, Rafe nodded at them, "How's Mogar?" he asked, smirking. He was glad they'd named Michael after his great grandfather. He enjoyed the subtle smack in the face to the Capitol, seeing how his Grandfather Mogar fought against the Capitol in the Rebellion. The kid liked to throw punches, so giving him the name of a fighter seemed right. Chris took another slow step, getting fairly close to Rafe now, "Six" he said quietly to Chris, who giggled again excitedly.

Astrid watched Chris as he took his steps, and he seemed to be doing well, and Astrid could only be proud of her son. Astrid soon sat down near Ruby and pulled her into her lap and one arm still held onto Michael. She then gave Ruby her book, the young toddler couldn't read quite yet, but she liked to look at the pictures and she'd often be enthralled in them. Ruby was a quiet kid though, even though she tried to talk and make words, she was mostly quiet. Astrid watched Chris and he was almost at Rafe. "Has Ruby tried to walk today?" She asked, she had been upstairs mostly, and Rafe spent most of the afternoon with the kids.

Rafe shrugged, "Not that I know of, but she makes so little noise, I wouldn't be surprised if she does laps around the house when we're asleep" he told her, smirking. Chris took another two steps, he was only a few steps away from Rafe now. He put his legs out to either side of Chris so he was facing him. "Almost there Chris" he said, smiling. His son smiled back, he and Rafe seemed to have the same smile, or so Astrid told him. A few more steps, Chris reached out and finally got close enough to grab hold of Rafe's shirt, pulling himself to him. "You made it buddy!" Rafe said, smiling and ruffling Chris's hair. Chris got excited and tried to jump in celebration and lost his balance. Rafe caught him and set him down, sitting on his thigh. "Maybe save that for next time" he told him, as Chris looked up happily at Astrid.

Soon the young toddler had ended up making it to Rafe and holding onto his shirt and Astrid smile, as both Rafe and Chris had smiled. They had a similar smile, and Chris was definitely Rafe's child, and there was no mistake on that. Soon Astrid started to clap for Chris on walking. "Yay Chris!" She said in an excited tone for him and smiled again. Ruby soon left her book and her mother's side and she started to crawl around the living room. "Don't go too far, Ruby." Astrid warned, knowing that Ruby could understand enough to know her warning. "So, how long do you think until Chris will be able to walk without help?" She asked looking at the two.

Rafe watched as Ruby crawled off, and smirked. He turned to Chris and bounced him and up down gently on his leg. Chris's short and messy brown hair sticking in every direction. He turned to Astrid at the sound of her question, "Knowing Chris, not very long" he said, glancing in Chris's direction to see a goofy grin on his face. "I swear he has evil plans waiting that require his ability to walk. Look at his face!" he exclaimed, the sideways grin on his son's face just spelled trouble.

Astrid smirked as she heard Rafe's explanation for why their son was so determined and why he'd be walking soon in no time with out their help. "Gonna have to strap him down at night so he wont try to walk down the stairs by himself." Astrid said grinning and she watched their son as he had a look on his face. Astrid scooted closer to Rafe and Chris, and then she kissed Chris' forehead. "You don't have evil plans do ya, buddy?" she asked him grinning and she was mostly trying to see if he'd try and talk or say something in return, he was only two so her expectations weren't too high.

Rafe smirked, "Don't tempt me" he replied to Astrid's idea to strap Chris down. She moved closer to them and talked to Chris, kissing his forehead, Rafe smiled at her question and glanced at Chris to see what he'd do. After she asked, he shook his head quickly, grinning "Nuh-uh" he said in a happy tone. Rafe grinned, "I don't think we can trust him" he said jokingly. 'Reminds me of myself,' Rafe nearly jumped out of his skin, of course the voice would say that, right now. He shook his head a little and looked back at Chris, who was leaning against his chest.

Astrid waited for Chris' response and she laughed at it. He was so adorable sometimes, and she was truly happy to have a son. She was even happier when she happened to have Michael, who was her second son. Although even though she was focused on having at least a son, she was very content to have a daughter she could end up sharing a bond with one day. Astrid wasn't sure, if three kids were going to be it for them or if they were going for four, she just assumed whatever happened would happen. She looked to keep an eye on Ruby and saw her trying to eat a plant and sighed. "Ruby we don't eat plants." She said and she handed Michael to Rafe and she went over to Ruby and picked her up. "If you're hungry you have to tell mommy, and don't tell her by eating plants." Astrid said laughing and she began to tickle the two year old getting massive amounts of giggles from her.

Rafe chuckled at Ruby and took Michael into his arm as Astrid went to get her. He leaned over to Chris and whispered to him loudly, "Now you see, that's what girls do when they're young, break all the rules. Its horrible right?" Chris was laughing, covering his mouth so that Astrid wouldn't hear him. He moved Michael closer to Chris, "Now you see, Michael and you are the good kids", Chris leaned in and grabbed one of Michael's outstretched hands. "Hi Micoo" he heard Chris mumble. Rafe smiled and looked over at Astrid, "What do you know, brotherly love"

Astrid was off tickling Ruby, but she could hear the boys all talking in whispers over there. She knew this was only the beginning of the boys gaining up on her. She shook her head and laughed, "Come on Ruby, we'll make you some real food and we wont share with the boys." She said glancing over at Rafe and her sons. "That's how you get power over boys." She said whispering to Ruby and the girl giggled as they walked off into the kitchen and Astrid put Ruby in her high chair as she began to make some lunch.

Rafe watched Astrid leave with Ruby, frowning. He turned to Chris and Michael, "Never trust your mom kids, she will make awesome food and taunt you with it, even though you're her family." he said, smirking as he had said it loud enough to echo into the kitchen. He leaned over to Chris and spoke in a hushed tone, "Hey Chris, why don't you go see what your mom and sister are doing," Chris nodded eagerly and smiled happily he turned to go and Rafe caught his arm gently, "Don't let them see you though" he instructed his son, winking at him before letting Chris run over to the doorway to the kitchen on his tiptoes. The kid was smart.

Astrid had been focused on making some sandwiches and making peanutbutter and jelly ones for Ruby seeing as she probably still didn't have enough teeth to eat a lot of the sandwich stuff they were eating now. Ruby could try but she was used to peanutbutter and jelly. She also got out the homemade yogurt she made and put it into a bowl and she gave the sandwich and yogurt to Ruby while she prepared something else for herself. While she was doing so, Ruby saw Chris come into the kitchen. "Mommy" She managed to make out the word and was trying to get her mother to turn. Astrid looked out of the corner of her eye and saw Chris and smirked. She had the same sandwich made for Chris too she grabbed it and she turned towards him and walked over giving him the sandwich and picked him up. "Let me guess? Daddy told you to spy on mommy?" She asked and then she smirked and whispered into his ear saying that if he told her everything then she'd give him a treat later.
