The District 4 escort, Adamanthian Hook, steps up on stage and smiles with blindingly white teeth. He starts speaking in an oddly high pitched voice, "Welcome everyone to the Reapings! Faye walked hand in hand with her only sibling River to the Reapings. Another year and hopefully they would both be safe again. They had been able to manage staying out of the games this long and all Faye could hope for was that at least River would be spared. She was so young and she didn't deserve to go in, at least if Faye went in she had some confidence that she may be able to make it through alive. She was crafty and smart, while River was so young and so naive. The two checked in but not before Faye hugged her younger sister and gave her a few encouraging words. "Don't worry, nothing will happen to you." Faye flicked River's nose like she had done so many times before and parted ways so that she could be put into the section for the 16 year old girls. She moved further and further forward each year and she was almost towards the front row now, two more years to go and she would be home free.

The escort now moved towards the center of the stage and stood in front of the standing microphone almost a little too close. "Now then, Ladies first!" He spoke in a high pitched voice before reaching into the bowl. He pushed his hand into the bowl and quickly pulled out a folded sheet of paper. He delicately opened the slip and read the name aloud, "Faye Crescent!" Faye heard her name and it was almost surreal as she began to move to the aisle. She knew that if she needed to go in, she had a chance to make it pretty far. She was smart, but that didn't mean that she wanted to go in. In fact, she really would rather not go in. She climbed up the stairs and took her spot at the center of the stage next to the escort. "Now, are there any volunteers?" Faye just stood there, hoping that maybe someone would volunteer. This was a career district after all, and some people were willing to jump up for the honor. Faye only hoped she had such luck this year.

Rebecca had been dressed in a nice blue dress with a single braid behind her going down her back. It had happened to be a fish tail braid. This year she was in the 16's spot for the females and she had stood there fiddling with her fingers. She wasn't suppose to take Butch in with her but she did and he was standing beside her. She petted him and spoke to him, telling him it'd be all right. She then heard that Faye Cresent and Josh were reaped. He was reaped? She hadn't known him a long time but she had known him for a year and talked to him a few times. That's when she heard a guy volunteer for him, soon enough Rebecca stood out into the aisle and raised her hand. "I volunteer as tribute." she said and then began to make her way up to the stage to take Faye's spot. Becca didn't know why she did it, but she did know, she had done something nice. Butch followed her and she made sure he stayed with her. She would get someone to take Butch for her before she went on the train that was for sure.
