"Lets give a nice welcome to fern Willows of District 11!" I shouted, getting the crowd excited.

Fern smiled at the crowd. She was definitely excited for the interviews, but not for the Games. "Hello!" she said, with enthusiasm.

I smiled at Fern, "So, lets get right to work" I say, "What do you think of the Capitol so far? Any favorite things?"

Fern grinned, and nodded, "The Capitol's food is delectable!" Any worries or doubts that she had melted away, and Fern was filled with excitement.

I smiled, "Yep, its great stuff" I say, "So, what do you think of your fellow tributes?"

Fern smiled, "They look well prepared! Makes me feel a little worried, you know."

I smile, "Im sure your just as prepared as they are, and they feel the same way" I explain encouragingly.

I smile, "Im sure it will come in handy!" I say, "So, any tributes in particular stand out?"

"At first, I was thinking about that 6 girl, but I'm not that sure, now. Brook, I think her name was, looked like she could be a good ally, being good at healing and all. Now, I'm unsure; she doesn't look like she's aiming to win," Fern frowned, for a healer could be helpful.

I nod, "Love does strange things to people, doesn't it" I say, "Speaking of which, anyone back home? Close friends? A boyfriend, maybe?"

Fern blushed a bit, "Well, uh, I have a few friends, and I live with my Dad, and my little brother, Aaron," Fern longed to be back home.

"Hmm. I don't know my mother," she said, with a bit of sadness in her voice, and added. "Aaron's nine years old."

I put a hand on hers, "Do you know what happened to your mother?" I ask, the crowd hanging on to every letter.

"I don't know. My father has never mentioned her, and I'm sure Aaron doesn't know anything more than I do. I've always assumed she's dead." Fern wished she had something more to tell the crowd than I don't know.

the audience felt instant sympathy for Fern, "Well, Im sure your father takes care of you, and that you will do just fine in the games!" I exclaim, and the crowd responds, shouting out calls of encouragement to Fern.

Fern's father didn't exactly take care of her, for she was more independent. Not saying anything about it, she said, "Ya... but I wish I could have some memory of her," Adding a sigh at the end.

"We feel for you" I say, as the buzzer sounds, "Lets give a big good luck to Fern Willows everyone!" I shout, and the crowd erupts in cheers of encouragement
