Reminiscence Period

Coming up near the beach Astrid smiled and she got off her dragon to give her a rest "Lay in the sand and have some much needed rest, finale has yet to come." She said softly and kissed the top on her dragon's head. Astrid walked further onto the sand beach and smiled a bit as she did so. She then took her seat in the sand as well and she closed her eyes for a small period of time reflecting back on everything that happened in district two.

There was the time that her and Rafe had gone over the fence to explore a bit, and that ended up into him tricking her that he had fallen from the tree and then when she went to check on him and it had all been a trick and he got up and ran away She smirked a bit thinking about it. Then there were the times when he gave her piggy backs all through out the districts, and she would give him directions to places, there were also the times when they trained together and they always went for food afterwards. One thing she remembered most though, was when he came home from the games and he had won, she felt so relieved to have him home, and to be able to hold him again, at this time it felt weird not having him around, but she was fighting to get home to the comfort and safety of home, of course home wasn't too safe with Astoria around anyways.

After opening her eyes again she smiled, and decided, for now she'd put her thoughts about home away, and she decided she deserved to have some fun while she was in the games and relax a bit. Her feet needed to breathe anyways. She pulled her boots off and slipped her socks off and put them in her boots. Then that was when she took her hair out of the pony tail it was originally in and she placed the band around her wrist. Already she felt better. Astrid then took the black pants off, she picked up those articles of clothing and she dropped them by Caelus to protect. Astrid then took her quiver filled with arrows out that also held her bow and laid it down with her stuff. Next the sword dropped down and her cloak came off to cover her weapons. Lastly she pulled her shirt off and neatly placed it down.

Astrid smiled and then ran down the beach, the warm sand at the bottom of her feet and then she waded into the water a bit and it felt cool and refreshing on her feet and soon she was in up to her knees, and felt that was as far as she would go. She wanted to stay in safe area to keep her feet on the bottom. She eventually lowered her body into the water though and swam a bit in her little area near the shore, eventually she stuck her head underwater too.

Resurfacing she smiled, she felt cleaner and she was able to clean some blood stains off of her hands. She sighed, and knew that soon, home would come, very soon. Although the water felt great and she felt like she could do anything and she was in control and just for once she didn't feel like she was supposed to be somewhere. Then Astrid started to wonder if she was going to get any sponsor gifts again, she wasn't sure if they were waiting for her to no longer be in battle or if she just had none.

The water is nice and cool and Caelus curls up happily on the warm sand of the beach, keeping an eye on Astrid's clothes.

Astrid was relaxing a bit and she could just stay there forever, she didn't even think about the games, because at this point she just needed to clear her mind and get rid of the feeling of too many things coming into her mind at once. She hated the feeling and that was when she had started to act out anf snap. Astrid knew it was a bad idea. She was now able to just rest in peace and hang tight.

After awhile, she decided to get out of the water. She waited for herself to be more dry before she went back to her clothes, so she had began to walk along the coast line. She looked around, and then up at the sky, she knew there were cameras somewhere around here, and then that led to her wondering if Rafe was watching, he had to right? He was her mentor and he had to be watching her and Anders at least.

Astrid finally decided she was dry enough and she went back over to her clothes and she just decided to put her shirt on, she didn't feel like wearing anything else yet. She then sat next to Caelus and she rested her head on the dragon, maybe she should get some sleep and some much needed rest before she did anything else but she still wondered about sponsor gifts and if there was any food because she was hungry and a bit thirsty now.

As if the Gamemakers are reading her mind (or maybe the sponsors just like what they see xD), a little parachute floats down, containing water, a bag of apples, and some bread.

Astrid saw that she had some sponsor gifts and she smiled. When she opened it up to find food and water she was so relieved, she really did miss eating food, it was great. She took a piece off the bread and she began to eat it and it was like heaven in those games, and since it was close to the final two she had to eat up and store energy now. After she ate half a loaf and then she had eaten an apple and then she some water. She safely stored her bread and water in the bag with the apples and then she set them down and kept her sword near the ready but also grabbed the cloak and wrapped it on her as she curled up and rested her head on Caelus. She was going to get some much needed rest before she had to fight again.

The gamemakers seemed to be pleased enough with the battle of Frank and Anders that they didn't mind Astrid doing nothing. Caelus kept watch with one eye open as she rested.

Astrid had been sleeping for quite some time and she had been having a few dreams of comfort. She eventually got up and she sat up and she rubbed her forehead a bit and then she pulled her pants back on and slung her quiver with her arrows and bow back on and then put the cloak back on. She then took her sword and she stabbed it in the ground to be able to find it easier later. She then felt a light breeze and smiled. Eventually she knew what she was gonna do and she knew that if she had little time left she had to make the most of it. "Caelus, could you do me a favour?" She asked and she knew there was a pebble beach near by. "Caelus, can you take both my boots and fill them up with stones?" She asked.

Astrid waited for Caelus to come back and she watched the water and she continued to eat her apple thinking about how she was going to make this work. She just hoped that she'd have enough stones for it. After awhile Caelus had come back with the stones. Astrid smiled and then she took the two boots full of stones and walked over to another sandy part of the beach. She tried moving the sand around a bit to make a more even area to set her stones on. She knew she had to make this big, so it was able to see very clearly. Astrid then took a rock out and she placed them, after what seemed awhile, all the stones laid out read a message, and she took a deep breath and she moved out of the way, and she only hoped the cameras would look this way. The message she had laid out in stones had been big enough to read and clear 'Rafe, will you marry me?' It was a big step and she knew that but she had been thinking the whole time in the arena and she was sure this was what she wanted. Soon enough Astrid put her boots back on and walked back to her sword and where Caelus was and she sat down again and had some water and the was when she picked up snuggles, he had been by Caelus majority of the time and she just hugged the bear as she sat there.

Astrid continued to hug Mr.Snuggles and she just hoped at this point she'd make it out alive, that was her absolute main goal now, especially after she had pretty much proposed to Rafe in the middle of the games. Right now the closest thing she had to home was the stuffed teddy bear, and she was glad she was given the teddy bear. 'We're gonna go home, Snugs' She said smiling and then looked back to the ocean, and she leaned against Caelus and shortly fell asleep again.

Astrid was woken up when a note landed on her face. It seemed to just have an arrow pointing down, but there was nothing there aside from Mr. Snuggles. Suddenly, Astrid noticed a velcro patch under Snugs' fur. She peeled open the velcro to reveal another note inside of Snuggles that must have been from Rafe. It was a marriage proposal, like her own! (Apparently her boyfriend liked to keep things planned.)

Astrid had been woken up, and after all the events had happened and she had seen the note with the proposal from Rafe, much like her own a small smile crept up on her face. They had a similar mindset at that point, because Astrid had carried around Snugs the whole games and it was right there, meanwhile she had been thinking about it the whole games also. Astrid hugged the bear closer at this point and instead of trying to go back to sleep she just decided sit with Caelus and Snugs as she wrapped her cloak around herself for warmth.

Caelus drifts off, half-asleep. She's tired from the long battles of the Games so far.

Astrid had been sitting there for quite some time. She wasn't too sure on what was going on though. It had been quite awhile and she hadn't heard any cannons yet. Astrid pulled her bread out and she ate the rest of it, it was best to fill out and restore as much energy as you could. Astrid then took an apple out and gave it to Caelus, as she took some sips of water from her bottle. At this point Astrid was getting worried. She got up and she strapped Snugs in, and she grabbed her sword. "Alright Caelus, lets go and eat up." She said, and she began to walk off, deciding to give Caelus a break by not riding her everywhere.
