Round 1: Emeline Fawn vs Viridiana Sovari

Time seemed to slow down for Vi as she waited for the match to begin. She had trained day and night for combat and she could feel herself get anxious, not nervous like she thought she would in her first real battle. She saw the girl named Emeline give a smile before she started to make her first move. She drew her pair of daggers in front of her in a defensive position, even though she would only use them to block if she couldn't move out of the way fast enough. She saw the girl start to swing her axe and waited as long as she could to move out of the way hoping that if the girl missed she would stumble. She started to ducked her one shoulder towards the ground and rolled, hopefully under the swing of her axe. She would stab backwards in the middle of the roll, hoping to hit her in the back.

Emeline smiled at the girl as she failed to block her axe. "Oh yeah, okay. So, like, um, I forgot. I was going to say something.." She said, bouncing back so the girl's blade wouldn't hit her. She finally remembered what it was. "Oh yeah! Good luck. I was going to say that earlier but I must have forgotten. Awkward right? I mean, not saying good luck before I start trying to win? Oh look!" She said, and then pointed to her axe. She made a 360 turn and slashed her axe at the girl. "Oh and I forgot to say Hi!"

Vi felt her axe across her arm, but was more mad that she did not even get a hit in whil etaking that shot. She didn't show it in her emotions though. She just got back up and smirked at Emeline while she stood there talking. "You sure do waste a lot of energy talking", she said back to her with the same confident grin. She saw her pointing at her axe, not believing that she was pointing right out to her when she was going to attack. She went on a head on attack, but right before she would meet the blade of the axe, she would slide at her feet and try cut a artery.

Emeline looked at her near successful attack be blocked by Viridiana. A pout came on her face as she forgot to say something. She waited for the girl to say something, in which she did. "I don't waste any energy talking. I talk a lot. No problem there. And also; says the one who had the first miss of the day." She said, slashing her axe at the girl, showing no mercy. A half smile came to her face. "How are you?" Emeline said.

Vi watched as her attack once again missed. She had came into this fight a bit too confident and tried to be fancy. But she knew that she was going to have to change how she fought against this girl. She readied her daggers in an offensive position this time, just waiting for her too attack directly once more. She listened to Emeline talk once more. God does she ever shut up, Vi thought to herself. "Any real fighter knows its not the first hit that counts in a fight, it's the last one", she said while giving her a quick wink. Vi didn't try and get out of they way of her latest attack, instead she quickly adjusted her stance so that the dagger in her left hand went over the dagger in her right, forming a cross. She would block with them crossed, push the axe away with the dagger in her left hand, then slash her with the one in her right hand.

Emeline smiled as her hit was successful on Vi. Without showing any sign of backing down, she spoke. "True." She said, trying to dodge the girl's blade. Without hesitation, she whacked her axe at the girl, without smiling. "If we were here to make the best quotes, I'd have already won. So.. don't play the word game with me. Or I'll send Mason on you." She said, talking about her baby Mason. He was good at laughing and distracting people.

Vi gave a smirk as her blow landed and Emeline's did not. She did not bother to ask who Mason was. She figured it would be easier to attack her if she knew nothing about her personal life. "Thankfully words can't kill me here", Vi replied to her. It bugged Vi a little to be losing the battle of wits, but she figured as long as she won the fight that would be good enough for her. She wanted to get back into this fight as soon as possible but decided to take a more conservative approach, since being too aggressive left wide open holes for the opponent to take advantage of. She came with her right dagger up high, she span and aimed for her face, but did not intend on hitting her there. Instead she would complete her spin and hopefully the girl would have just moved her head back, leaving her stomach pushed out.

Emeline thought about Kayden and how he was doing. Maybe he was dying, or maybe living. She honestly hoped living. She knew that they could win if they tried. Plus you couldn't 'die' you could 'lose'. When snapping back into reality, she saw Vi attack again. She tried to dodge it and then slash the girl, like she had tried before. Hopefully, this time, it would work. "Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can never hurt us." She said, referring to her childhood.

Vi could tell just how important the next few moves were in this chess game of a battle. If she was not able to block and land a few more hits she knew that she would not be able to come back in this fight. She wouldn't lose, she had told herself before the fight. Now it was time to show what she had learned in all of her training, those countless hours of pain and misery. Her eyes intensified with the heat of battle, her mind focused more than it ever had before. She completely ignored what the girl had just said and watched her hands move with axe. She saw that she was trying the same move as before, so should Vi. except this time she could tell her hit would land without blocking so she would side step and then attack.

Vi let out a small sigh, just loud enough for herself to her as she watched her attack get blocked. She had never thought a first round fight would end up being this hard. But however hard this battle was, she would never give up or show signs of fatigue. She quickly rolled head first out of the way of her attack, quickly bringing her daggers up. She knew that this might be her best chance to even up this fight or even take control of it. She sliced at the girl with both daggers, finally being the aggressive one in the fight.

Emeline shrugged as the missed. It didn't bother her much, because it was just a friendly competition. She tried to dodge the girl's daggers and then smiled. "For once there is action!" She said as the slashed the girl with her axe. The fight must be over sometime, but she'd just have to wait, and pray for the best. The girl didn't seem to have any signs of slowing down, so neither did Emeline. She tried to watch her every move, making sure she could block each attack the girl put forth, or at least try to.

Vi let herself show a small smirk as she landed another hit and Emeline missed her once again. "You are a worthy opponent, I will give you that", Vi said to Emeline, preparing to launch another frontal attack since she has landed more blows with this strategy. She launched at her, sheathing her left dagger, and used both hands on the one dagger to thrust harder at the girl.

Emeline smirked when the girl spoke. She didn't mind the compliments. When her attack missed, and then so did Viridiana's, she took no chances. She ran up to the girl, swinging her axe with might and power. "You are a good opponent too. Nice hair b.t.w" She said, hoping the girl didn't know what b.t.w meant. She probably did, but acronyms get around quickly in a district as popular as Two is.

Vi watched as another attack missed her. She hoped that the compliment Emeline gave her was sincere, as her hair was the one feature that she spent tirelessly working on. She let a small smile of appreciation slip across her mouth, "Thank you, I like your hair as well." She then jumped at the girl, even though she got trained not to jump since you can't change your trajectory in the air. She just hoped that it would catch her by surprise.
