Trees Trees, and more Trees!

Maddie was still happy about Rob being dead. Even though he seemed like a nice kid. She knew careers weren't very easy to handle. She was pacing around two trees, much larger than the others. There were almost no sounds, beside her footsteps. She could also hear her breathing, but not that much. She looked at the trees, to see if there was anything useful on them. Food or twigs really was all she needed for her lame plan. Maddie was planning on finding something so her walk was worth more than finding her friends. It might curve back around to Xav and Derald. She thought, hoping this would be. She was all alone, which was good and bad. She started to scuff her bare feet. She was still pretty cold. Which meant she needed some shelter or something to keep her from freezing to death. That probably happened in past games. Especially when people steal the clothes. But, Maddie had to admit that the tributes from District Six were pretty clever.

As Madelyn kept walking forwards, she noticed an old and very worn trail. She could see what looked like old wheel tracks, or at least that's what it looked like. They were all surrounded by bushes, but the trees were all still far to tall to get anything from.

Maddie was now a bit upset. The trees were still too tall for her to find food off of. Not that she minded, but it might be needed pretty soon. She shrugged, taking the loss as a win. The win was now she got to work harder. Smiling, she walked onto something, old. There was some kind of trail. Maybe wagon marks? Or drag tracks.. She thought. Only the dumbest people would drag a tribute's body. Talk about giving away your hiding place. She shrugged and started to walk on the trail. If it's really wagon marks, then there might be goodies! But, there's only one set.. so whatever came in must not have gotten out. The girl considered her odds, and continued to walk down the trail, nearly fearlessly.

She looked to her sides, and saw several bushes near trees. She had enough common sense to know that that could be a good or bad thing. Last games, a tribute had a mutt sent after him from a bush. But there could also be berries! She shrugged, taking one of her arrows, and shaking it around in the bush. She then repeated this with another nearby. She walked back, hoping that she found food. Even if it was something like nightlock, it could be used for good. Tricking people into eating it is an absolute plus. But then, if she got hungry, there could be a way to take out the poison.

Maddie, however, was not really a fool when it came to common sense. Usually, people overreacted with options and choices, which is what gets them beat. They start to lose focus on common sense. But, if you have both options and choices, along with common sense, you can easily have good luck. If you can't handle the burdens of keeping three things in mind, along with allies and things, then you don't really stand a chance. At least, that's what Maddie assumed.

The first bush only had a bunch of leafy plants on it, some of which had a strange aroma that Madelyn couldn't quite place. The second bush however looked pretty picked through, though a few berries dropped down that were a deep bluecolor. She had no idea what these could be though.

Maddie walked back to the first plant. Nothing really fell, but there were a few plants. Full of leaves! Maddie ripped one out, holding it up. It had a strange smell that she couldn't identify. Shrugging, she kept it by her side. Maybe it was safe to eat. She walked over to the next bush, about a few feet away. There was a lot more at the second bush than the first. A few berries dropped onto the floor. She picked them up into her hand. They were dark, like the night sky. She thought there was something about safe foods, but couldn't remember if dark blue berries were safe to eat or not. Maddie put them with her aroma plant.

Maddie was now getting a bit worried about where her team was. More importantly, which were alive. There was a lot of screaming and shouting when she had left. All she really hoped for was that the guy from 9, Derald, and Xav were alive and well enough. The girl looked around, wilderness. That's all she had seen after the bloodbath. The only thing humanlike was the road which was still right by her. She walked back over to it, continuing to follow the trail. People need food, and people hopefully made this trail. So maybe there's more food! Maddie thought, continuing down the trail.

As Madelyn followed the trail she could see a large stone wall that seemed to even tower over the trees arounds her. The trees were thinning out as she moved closer to the wall and she could even see a sign that was worn and covered in markings that would make no sense to her nor anyone really

Maddie wasn't expecting to run into anything huger than these trees throughout the arena. But then, she looked up. Well, I was wrong. Maddie thought, staring at a huge stone. She thought it could at least be double the size of the trees she once thought were big. The trees seemed to get lesser and smaller as she approached the stone. When she got close enough, she could see a sign. It was in very confusing writing, that she couldn't understand. Maddie decided to take a cuter look at the stone.

The very giant stone wall seemed to be pretty sturdy and intact at first glance, but then as she turned her head a little she notices a very large hole that seemed to be the size of the trees that someone...or something could easily walk through. Through the large amount of rubble that she could see through she could see the tops of some houses and what appeared to be a city in the distance. If she went any further she would end up in the city.

Maddie decided to follow the tracks some more. And when she saw a large stone, she was very relieved. She might have found out where the wagon tracks had led to! She walked in front of it, seeing a huge hole. Maddie pouted, looked at the ground. Yep, drag tracks. She agreed with her second assumption of what the tracks could have been. Ahead of the hole, she saw a city, a small one. Probably since the arena couldn't fit a whole entire city. She walked in, going towards the town kind of place. Maybe she'd meet up with Xav and Derald, and the guy who seemed weird. The guy from nine.

Maddie has left the Northern Forest and went to the Housing District!
