"Welcome, welcome!" The District Nine escort chirped as the citizens gathered. She cast her bleached smile over the dull crowd, waiting for them to settle before continuing on. "Today, one lucky man and one lucky woman shall have the honor of participating in the 36th Hunger Games!" she paused for a cheer, "Now then, Ladies first!" The escort's voice cut off as she broke from the microphone. Her hand dipped into the bowl of names and shuffled the papers. Finally, she withdrew a name and took breath to announce. Who could it be?

Felicity started to wake up from a nightmare about being reaped, she was really worried. Today was reaping day. The day that could decide her death, or maybe a new victor for district 9. She started to get up to walk over to her bathroom to shower but than she forgot, she needs clothes. Duh! She walked over to her closet and pulled out a white dress with black boots, she needed to look good for the reapings. Her main thought was Ethan, she was worried that he'd get reaped and he would die. Her only friend and Boyfriend ever. She decided to shake it off, she walked into the bathroom. She stared at her reflection a bit after she showered and put her clothes on. She couldn't decide on what to put it like. Straight, Curled, In a Bun, or a Ponytail. She decided to make it straightened just for the spirit, things that never happened regularly. She walked out and sat on her bed, she felt the warm sun beating down onto her face. It was just purely beautiful outside, which was weird since today was a horrible day. Felicity walked out into the kitchen to find a bowl of cereal and milk. Attatched to it was a note saying 'Be Safe!
- Mom'. Felicity smiled and ate her cereal and drank her milk, she started to ponder what would actually happen if she was reaped. Would anyone even want her as an ally? She didn't know at all. She finished her milk as it was about time to leave to head to the reaping. She set her bowl and glass on the counter, leaving the door with a smile on her face. It's weird, how time slows down as you get more and more scared. Felicity got into the girls area and waited for the reapings to start. If I'm in, Ethan better be in too.

She dug her hand into the bowl and pulled out the female tribute's name, "Fallon King!" She called out and then she dug into the male's bowl. "Castiel Reche!"

The name hit his ears like a highspeed train. Fallon King. Was this some kind of sick joke? Storm spun around, looking for the girl he'd only recently learned the full name of. "No...not again. Not her," It wasn't right, first Lupa, now Fallon too? Who else had to get pulled into the deathmatch? Castiel Reche. Oh come on, that wasn't supposed to be a question! The boy watched his only current friends take the stage now until he couldn't stand it anymore. Someone had to put their hand up, right? That's the way it always happened in Nine. Someone always seemed to volunteer, didn't they?

Castiel had been standing at the Justice Building for quite sometime now. It was taking a long time for the Reapings to start. He was wearing a white button down shirt with black pants, terrible fashion sense he has. The boy watched as the escort lady for his district walked up onto the stage. After people looking at her, waiting for her to shut up, the people were reaped. The first was a girl, whom he didn't hear the name of. This was because he was deaf and stuff like that. But then, the next name was pulled. A few eyes stared directly towards him. Castiel pointed to himself. A few of the boys around him nodded.
Castiel, a few seconds later, found himself walking up to the stage, he couldn't stop thinking about why it had to be him. And more importantly, how he'd live through it without knowing if someone was speaking to him. Or if a mutt prowled on him, trying to eat him, how would he know before hand? The boy honestly didn't care. Maybe there was a person to volunteer for him?

Fallon heard her name be called out and instantly it felt all wrong. Why was her name called? It didn't make sense, and it wasn't fair. What did she ever do? Fallon watched as people made way for her and she walked up there. She stood on the stage and she had tears in her eyes and she kept struggling to keep them back but it was difficult. She soon had them all let loose while she mouthed a couple words. "Help me please" she didn't want to go, she couldn't it wasn't fair.

Felicity saw the young girl go up as her name was called. She saw tears streaming down the girls face, and Felicity knew that it was wrong. Before anyone else could say it Felicity stepped up and said "I Volunteer!". Wait, did I seriously just volunteer for someone? Well, oh well. She will remember me as the person who saved her. Hopefully. She thought to herself. She started calling herself an idiot. She saw Ethan in the crowd, and gave him those pleading eyes saying 'Please, Help Me.'. She swore she could hear someone in the crowd say "Hey, look! Peace-Maker wants to kill! What a surprise!" and started laughing at her. Felicity started to cry, Why were people so rude at times? God. she looked up. Tears streaming down her face, eyes bloodshot and said "At least I have the soul to do it.".

Ethan slumped out of his house, which was too close to the Justice Building. If he skipped the Reapings, the PeaceKeepers would whip him at the least. He shook his head as he walked down the gravel pathway to the tables. He sighed as a female Capitolist pricked his finger and pressed it on a paper. Once she gave a 'next', Ethan stormed off into the crowd. He knew that Felicity would be somewhere near, but where? The Reapings would only start in a matter of minutes. Ethan stepped into the crowd of 17 year old males and scratched his forearm awkwardly and looked around in the 16 year old female section.

A peppy Capitolist walked out, not needing to silence the crowd. Ethan sighed. 'Where could she be-' he thought to himself, catching the female name being called but an all-too-familiar voice called out to volunteer. He watched the girl awkardly and slowly walk up to the stage, and he almost fainted once he saw the miserable-looking face that the girl had.

"Felicity!" the boy called out, frantically making his way through the crowd, out into the open. "No! No!" He looked almost mental trying to push his way through the wall of PeaceKeepers. He swung a haymaker at one's neck and slipped through. "I-I volunteer as tribute!" Ethan screamed out into the crowd, which soon enough fell silent. He made a strong eye-contact with his girlfriend as he walked up to the stage. "You'll be okay," he whispered loud enough for ony the girl to hear. The escort asked him for his name.

"Ethan Grimes," he said strongly.

After the two tributes who had volunteered had left she sighed relieved. She was grateful for the girl known as Felicity who volunteered for her. The girl appeared older looking than her but she saw her come from the 16 group area, meanwhile Fallon was 17. While everyone started to go talk to their friends Fallon frantically searched for Storm, and when she did, she wrapped her arms around him hugging him, he was the only thing she had, considering her family basically ditched her. Fallon was glad he was still okay, and she was happy she still had someone to rely on and talk to. Fallon had been so scared by the reapings today, and she didn't want to take what she had for granted. She still held on to him not showing any signs of letting go yet. "I was so scared" she whispered softly.

As Castiel was making his way to the stage when one of the boys ran upto the stage before him. Cas hadn't seen that before.. and last not from what he could remember. But, the boy knew what was infered their. Someone had volunteered for the boy. He just stood there as the two people on the stage hugged. Well if they liked each other, obviously one or neither of them will be getting out. He thought, walking through the other people, quietly and awkwardly.

Thank god. It was a sick thought, but those two chose to go in. Fallon didn't. And she didn't deserve to die like that. Storm watched as Fallon returned to the crowd, and the tributes were led away. Then he was moving through the crowd, towards her. He could speak to Cas later, but Fallon needed him now. She found him first.
Fallon's arms were around him before he even realized she was there. Slowly, he returned the embrace as she started to speak. "Me too...but hey, you're okay now, right?" he said the first thoughts that came to his mind. Hopefully they were the right ones.

Fallon had never really felt a hug before but she could smell his scent it was a good scent, she didn't really know how to describe it but it made her more at peace. She buried her head more into his shoulder and stayed silent for a moment but felt his arms slowly come around her to embrace her in a hug. Fallon could feel the warmth radiate off of him and she had never felt something so sincere, most of the hugs from her mother had been cold ones but this one, was a warm hug. Soon she spoke and her words were a little bit muffled, "I think so, I just didn't want to die." She soon stayed like that just being in his embrace was good enough for her. He was one of the only friends she had and she was glad she had him today, for the moment she was still a bit shaken up.

"I don't want to come to the reapings next year." She mumbled softly as one tear ran down her cheek but luckily he couldn't see due to her face being buried in his chest.
