PostSubject: Is Dat A Twacta?   Tue Apr 15, 2014 11:56 am

Well, the day didn't start off the best.  His mother had left Kaden with him, while she ran off to do lord knows what with his "father."  Now normally Storm wouldn't mind; in fact, usually he'd be happy to get the kid away from them for a whole day.  But this day, he was supposed to meet Fallon with the tractor parts he'd been snatching up over the past few days.  Not exactly a good day to take care of a three year old.

At least Kaden didn't mind going out into the fields, and Storm had already dropped the larger parts at the tractor, so there wasn't a struggle getting there.  "Grass or seat?"  he asked the kid; Fallon wasn't there yet and he wasn't going to hold Kaden forever.  "Gwass," Kaden responded, plopping down, and then began to play with the stalks.  "If you're sure, buddy,"  Storm said with a laugh, going to uncover the tractor.  As soon as Kaden could make out what it was, he seemed to change his mind.  "Twacta?" he asked.  "Mhmmm, changed your mind?" Storm asked.  Kaden nodded, so he picked up his little brother and put him on the tractor's seat, which was actually in fairly good condition.  "Alright, you stay up there while I work on this thing, okay?" Kaden nodded again, so Storm could only assume he wouldn't screw anything up.

Now that Kaden was settled in and the tractor had been uncovered, Storm took off his jacket, laying it out like a blanket so he could organize all the parts without getting them in the grass.  Plus, it was pretty warm today.  He was pretty focused, so he didn't notice when Fallon showed up.

sorry it's a bit long in the introduction~ :/

Fallon had been doing some chores around the house. It was part of the reason why she got to stay in the first place, and also because her parents wanted her to stay in school and learn as much as she could. Fallon had continued to be a good student and she was rather content with everything that she had done. "I'm going out!" She called out to her aunt and right as she was about to walk out the door her aunt had stopped her. "Is this the boy you're going to go hang out with again?" her aunt asked probing, and Fallon tried to contain it.

She grinned and turned to her aunt, "Perhaps." She said not saying yes or no, and she was about to turn around again when her aunt laughed, "Spending a lot of time with him lately, Fallon." her aunt commented and Fallon looked at her aunt, "He's one of the few friends I have, auntie." Fallon replied and that was when she was getting the looks from her aunt and she gulped a bit. "What?" Fallon asked her and was waiting for an answer, "I don't know seems more than just friends to me.. But I'll let you go for now, be back by supper time, oh and here take this." She said handing Fallon a basket and she looked confused but she peaked inside to see lunch and such and she smiled, "Thanks auntie."

After that the young blonde found her way out to the fields, and she walked along the fence lines for awhile and then ducked under some of the wooden fence, and she could see a small outline of a path and she knew she was going the right way. As she got closer she could hear noises and she was a bit puzzled for a bit, she was humming songs as she went and rather content, but yet her heart jumped a bit more than usual as she walked down the path, and she couldn't place that at the moment but she shrugged it off.

As she got there she saw Storm and smiled, "Hiya Sto-" She said her words being cut off as she saw a small child on the tractor seat and she stopped in amazement. She broke out into a big genuine smile. "Who's this little cutie!" She said looked at him and her face in total awe. She looked over to Storm so many questions in her mind, "Can I hold him?.. Wait, is he your kid?" She asked a bit confused but either way the kid was adorable.

"There she is!" Storm said in greeting, straightening up from hovering over the equipment.  For a second, he didn't understand why she'd stopped so suddenly.  Oh yeah, she'd never met Kaden.  "Oh that thing? That's Kaden," he half-smiled, and Kaden giggled.  "Dunno; hey buddy, you gonna let her hold ya?" Kaden had been watching Fallon, so whether he intended it as a response or not, he chose that moment to utter the classic line of the kid sibling.  "Pwetty!"  he had the silly little kid grin on his face, which made it all the harder for Storm to contain another laugh.  "That's a yes," he whispered in a serious tone.  But then as the girl continued, he couldn't hold back that laugh.  "If you mean kid brother, then yes," he shook his head, but he was still grinning.  "Fallon, I'd have to have been thirteen. No way."  He shook his head once more to clear the thoughts he knew would come with that, then looked back at all the stuff that they'd gathered, "So, you ready to get this started?"

Fallon watched as Storm greeted her but soon he had realized why she had stopped for a bit and she looked over to Kaden again. He was an adorable little toddler and Fallon was hoping she'd be allowed to old the kid. She set the basket down and then set her tractor book on top of it. When Kaden mentioned pretty Fallon blushed a little, "Awe you're so sweet." She said with a small laugh and that's when Storm whispered to her, and her eyes lit up. Fallon walked up to Kaden who was sitting on the tractor and she picked him up. "Your name is Kaden, right?" she asked the little boy and smiled at him and then sat in the grass with him. "My name is Fallon, can you say my name?" She asked and while she had said her name she said it slowly for him so maybe it could help him. Fallon looked over to Storm, "I'll help in a minute, and you never told me you had a brother." She said smiling and looking back over to Kaden.

"Ka-den" he confirmed, drawing out the name more to make sure he himself was pronouncing it right. Kaden looked at Fallon, his eyes going big when she introduced herself. "Fawon?" he said, then grinned, thinking he said it right. He then proceeded to say "Fawon" at various volumes and pitches while trying to play with the grass and continue being in her arms all at once.

"Well, he never really came up," Storm shrugged it off. He never spoke much about the family anyway, why would he now? Well, other than for obvious reasons. He walked over to the tractor and popped the hood. Then realized he'd never worked on a tractor in his life. Ever. With a chuckle to himself, he looked over at Fallon, who was now in the grass with Kaden. At least they seemed to be getting off to a good start. "Did you, uh, bring any of those books with you? I might need a guide or two."

Fallon smiled as Kaden was able to reassure her that his name was Kaden. He really was adorable, and Fallon could see some resemblance to Storm. Fallon heard the young boy attempt her name and she broke into a full tooth smile, "Pretty close, I think that's what my new name should be, shouldn't it?" Fallon asked and then she stood up bringing him with her. "You know you're gonna have all the girls chasing after you one day, you better watch out." She said teasing him and setting him down on the tractor seat again and she tickled him a little bit and then turned to Storm. "I brought a book, hold on." Fallon said and then she walked over to where she had left it. The blonde had been able to read everything in there so far, and she memorized which pages it was on, and then she thumbed through the book. Fallon had already brought the tools previously and she grabbed a wrench and she stood on the bumper to see in there.

Fallon handed the book to Storm. "I read through it already but here you can have a look, it's really not that bad and quite simple." Fallon said as she looked at the tractor parts around and then looked over to Storm, "How much did that all cost anyways?" She asked hoping he didn't pay a lot for it. She knew he stole some things, but he didn't steal tractor parts did he?

Kaden giggled as Fallon tickled him, seeming to enjoy it.  But when she left, he was perfectly content with playing on the steering wheel.  "Don't go putting ideas in his head,"  Storm said with a laugh. The thought of his little brother being chased around was hilarious, yet plausible.  "Thanks,"  he said automatically, taking the book from Fallon.  "So...this thingamajig goes there, and this is wired in here...and that round thing is supposed to go there..."  he muttered under his breath as he read and began to work, until he realized Fallon was starting to speak to him.  He tuned in for a bit, only to give her the most "wut" face possible.  How much did that all cost anyways?.  It was downright comical to ask Storm Avian the price.  But even more to his surprise, Fallon seemed completely serious.  So naturally he had to laugh.  "Might've spent a few cents on the jacket," he pointed to the thing that was now on the ground, being used as a blanket.  A jacket he'd had for a few months now at least.  "Other than that..." he shrugged.  Okay, that was a bit untrue; he'd spent a little bit here and there, but that was the best way not to get caught.  And the point was made, the whole truth was a minor detail.

Fallon watched as he began labeling things as generic names and she rolled her eyes a bit. She started to unscrew some of the parts that were horribly damaged and she was working on getting them out. She wasn't going to allow him to do all the work, there was no chance of that happening. "You do know those 'things' have actual names if you read the book." She said teasing him with a grin on her face. Fallon continued to work on getting the pieces out that needed to be put in and she knew some were missing too. She listened to Storm explain about how much everything cost and she rolled her eyes, "Why do you steal so much? Have you paid for anything before?" Fallon asked. She no longer attempted to steal, the one time she was whipped for it, and to this day she still had the scars from it, and they acted up once in awhile, but for the most part she could deal with it. Fallon pulled a piece out and then began working on another one.

Storm tossed a broken doohickey over his shoulder, "I know, it's just easier to give 'em new names."  He smiled, replacing whatever he'd thrown with a mostly new version.  She asked why he stole so much, and he shrugged again.   He continued to work on the tractor for a little while before he spoke again.  "It's just how I've always done things.  But hey, I usually pay for the bread I give you,"  he said the last part with a grin, looking up at Fallon, "And come to think of it, I might've paid for that thingamajig."  He nodded to what he'd just replaced.  Wait, wasn't that a doohickey?  Oh well.  "So, uh, what's in the basket?"  He'd seen it earlier, but Kaden and the tractor had been occupying his thoughts until he just happened to glance around and see it again.

Fallon watched as her threw some things out and replaced them with other 'thingamabobs' or whatever he was naming them now and then explaining how he was giving them new names. "Do new names really help when you forget them moments later?" She asked laughing a bit and then smiled at him. Fallon grabbed a part that she needed and then she began trying to put it into the tractor and then screwing on the piece and making sure it was staying in here. Then she heard his telling of his staling ways and she rolled her eyes, she didn't mind that he stole, well not that it was right but she had learned to accept that about him. "You pay for bread for me?" She asked a little bit stunned and a bit amazed. It was rare that Storm paid for anything and so it meant a bit to her and she kept grinning to herself. That's when she heard his question and she looked over at it and then back at him, "My aunt gave it to me, supposed to be food and stuff." She said shrugging. "Probably enough for Kaden, she likes to over feed me since I was really underweight when she took me in. Keeps me well fed, need fat apparently." Fallon said joking about the last part.

"Nope," Storm laughed, changing a thingamabob for a jimmyjam. Or something like that. He went to grab a tool as Fallon was speaking. He shrugged it off. "Usually," he emphasized the word, then flipped the tool around and pointed at Kaden, "For him too," he grinned at her shock. "Important people, I guess," He focused back on the work then, waiting to find out what was in that basket. "Well that's good; I forgot about lunch," he cast another glance at the basket, but they hadn't been working nearly enough time to deserve a break. "So your aunt... you like it there, huh? Well, I guess who wouldn't with all that food lying around, right?" he laughed again. It was good to hear Fallon's aunt actually seemed to care about her. Unlike some people.

Fallon listened to Storm and she laughed, it came naturally, her laughs were never fake, and that was a good thing. Fallon's heart fluttered a bit as she heard that she was important, but Kaden was important too, so maybe she was only a friend or sister figure to Storm. Somewhere within her she hoped she wasn't like a sister to him, wait. Did she really just think that? No it was impossible, her mind was just playing games. Fallon pushed down the thoughts until the vanished out of view for the time being. That was when he asked about her aunts house and she smiled, "Yea, I really do like there, I can tell their love is genuine for once and I'm never scared anymore, and I feel wanted." Fallon said getting quiet a little bit, it was difficult to talk about her past sometimes, she could talk about it so easily before but now that things looked better they were harder to look back on. "You know, I never felt what it was like to be loved by family until they found me and took me, they showed me what that was and what it was like, and it makes me a little sad I never got it at home, but everything happens for a reason." Fallon said with a small smile and began to check the book again making sure everything was in its place. "I'm sorry for getting all deep and personal about it all, hey why don't you come over for supper tomorrow night? You can meet my aunt and all them for yourself. Remember, though, you can't steal this time." She said, the last part teasing him and laughing a bit.

Storm let Fallon talk as he worked. There wasn't much to say really, what could he do, interrupt to ask more questions? Plus, he liked hearing her speak happier thoughts, unlike how she'd been before this mysterious aunt had taken her in. But everything happens for a reason. "Guess you're right there," he said under his breath with a slight frown, but Fallon mustn't have heard cause she continued on. "No, you're fine," Then he smiled, "Sounds fun. And hey, isn't it stealing if I eat your food anyway?"
