Drew flopped against the cushions of the seat in the couch. He looked around and at the expensive glass vases full of the pretty little flowers that you see at funerals. A small chuckle escaped his lips as he found them fitting in such a situation. Leaning back against the seat, Drew placed his feet up on the table ahead of him. His shirt was a flashy button down with bright colors that fit to his broad shoulders and slim waist. Pushing his hands through his short dark brown hair Drew waited for the others to enter the room as the soft hum of the engine started in the distance. A sad smile reached Drew's lips as he looked out of the window at those he may never see again.

Paris Erickson
Paris was a little flustered after the long, and wordy 'thank you' from the girl whom she volunteered for. Honestly, the teenager didn't care. She hadn't volunteered to save her life, but to make her's better. Anything had to be better than sitting alone at lunch all the time, because everyone avoided you. Even if the Games was a suicide mission, it had to be better than her past life. Her family had said goodbye to her as well, but with less emotion. Her mother was stricken with horror, of course, as any mother should be in such an occasion. Her father, on the other hand was stiff with pride, and a confidence that his daughter would return home.

Her reaping outfit made her want to gag, yet she wore it onto the train. The simple polka dot print seemed childish, and she was not a child. She was a tribute. A strong, independent, noble tribute who was going to prove everyone wrong, hopefully. Paris entered and saw her male partner. Her lips were firmly pressed together as she looked him over, her eyes then passing to the window. The train began moving, and she took a seat across from him, as far away as she could go. No friends, just victory. "Paris," she stated firmly, looking up at the platinum ceilings. She exhaled afterwards, placing her hands on her dress as if it would make the design go away.

Lavina had been told she wasn't supposed to mentor anymore.  And then they requested her mentorship.  It'd been so long, she wasn't sure she was up to the task, but when the Capitol called, she'd learned to answer.
Finding the tributes was harder than it used to be.  The trains had gotten fancier, like that was possible, and the kids weren't in the dining car.  That was the shocker.  Eventually, however, the mentor found them.  "Not much for tradition, are we?" Lavina asked, stepping into the car.  She frowned at the room, with all its frillyness.  The Capitol seemed to up the ante every year.  At least there was a beverage cart in the back.  "Mornin' kiddies.  Life's dealt ya a bad deal, but you've got me here to help.  Call me Lavina.  Any questions?"

Paris Erickson
Paris raised an eyebrow as the District 12 mentor entered. She sighed, pressing the skirt of her dress against the chair as she sat. Who knew that a dress could be so uncomfortable? "Tradition?" she repeated, confused by the mentor's statement. Vaguely listening to the woman, she caught something about a 'bad deal'. No kidding. "Yeah, I've got one," Paris muttered, standing up to brush down the fabric of her dress.  She paced around her chair for a moment before stopping behind it, placing her hands on the top of it. "How do you suggest we y'know," she stopped for a moment, moving her hands as if she was trying to grasp a concept. "Survive?" she asked, looking over at Lavina expectantly.

Drew watched in silence. Paris, the female from his district who had volunteered didn't frighten him but she did not have a friendly aura about her. As Paris spoke and sat down He looked back out the window expecting to see something less gloomy than the feelings surrounding him in the back of the train. Drew was about to stand up to go get a quick snack from the dining cart when the door opened. The District twelve mentor stood in the door way making comments about tradition and questions. Tradition must be them meeting in the dining cart cause of the usual kids who come in. "Uh..." Was all Drew managed to say before Paris started talking. "I don't think it's about skill, but the show you put on... Like if you win the Game Makers favor things might be easier for..." Drew said as he looked Paris over.

"Usually," Lavina strode over to the beverage cart as she spoke, "You find your way to the dining car."  She took a moment to fix herself a coffee, swirling in some sugar and cream.  "That," she nodded to Paris, "Is an excellent question."  The mentor dropped a bit of vodka into her coffee, swirling it a bit more.  She popped a lid down to prevent spillage and joined the tributes, nestling into a plush chair in between their two couches.  "Well, sir, you're partially right,"  she spoke to Drew now, having heard his ideas, "Winning over the 'Makers makes it a tad easier.  But to do that, you've gotta have skill.  In what, it depends on the person.  Crowd pleasing, fighting, survival. Depends on the tribute and the Head's arena." She paused, taking a sip of her mixed drink.  "Mmm, good stuff..." she trailed off, realizing the tributes' eyes were still on her.  "How about you guys get something in your system, sit down, and then we'll talk?"

Paris Erickson
Paris frowned at Drew and his comment about winning over the game makers. "We shouldn't need to win favor," she snapped irritably. "We should be able to fight for ourselves, without needing any of their stupid protection. We've both survived this far in the shittiest district, that has to count for something," the tribute argued as Lavina strode over to the beverage cart. She was determined to win her way, not the way or the careers or even the Capitol. If she was going to die, she wanted to die as the girl from district twelve, not as a petty piece in the games. Paris huffed as their mentor suggested they get something before they spoke more on the subject. She shuffled over to the beverage cart and looked at her options. Settling on orange juice, she walked back over and sat herself down. "Okay, now can we get to the point?" Paris asked, feigning a sweet smile.
