PostSubject: Take me down to the Little White Church   Thu Aug 07, 2014 10:16 pm

Well, it'd been a few weeks since what Autumn liked to refer to as the incident.  When she woke up with a nasty headache and...well, shit had obviously gone down.  That had been the last straw, and she'd decided to recover from her ankle injury in the saf-comfort of her own home.  Of course she'd prefer never to see Norman again, but now... now things were complicated.  So, on her now completely healed ankle, she had set off towards the main district.

There he was.  Purchasing more alcohol from the best shop in town.  Typical.  Autumn set her face and strode towards him.  'Norman.  Hector.  Rowe,'  She raised her voice a bit with each name,  "You and I need to have a little chit-chat."  Somehow in such a short time, she had completely covered the distance and managed to get right in his face.  Or as close as she could, given the height difference.

Norman examined the bottle in his hands. Something new he had found. Setting it down, he picked up another and nearly dropped it. A slightly familiar voice was saying his name... using all three. Turning on his heel, he glared for the voice. No one had ever called him by his full name, mostly because not many knew his full name. Seeing a familiar face, Norman rolled his eyes and turned back, placing both bottle onto a counter to pay for them. The girl who had called for him had reached him, and he turned to face her. "Well hello to you too, Autumn," he said in mock-happiness. When she mentioned a chat, he raised a hand. "Let me finish here, and I'll talk to you. Go wait for me," he said, turning his back on her and finishing his purchase.

"Don't act like that; we aren't friends," she snapped back at him, crossing her arms as she pushed up on her toes, trying to match his height.  That failed.   "Whatever, that's what got us in this mess anyway," she narrowed her eyes at the bottles, then spun on her heel and strode away.  After a few paces, which really wasn't too far actually, she spun back and glared a bit more as quite a few thoughts rumbled in her head; most of which were not too flattering towards Norman.

Norman shook his head as she walked away. Chuckling, he returned his attention to the man selling him the alcohol. Handing him a bit of money, Norman turnde, alcohol in hand, and strode towards Autumn. Walking past her, Norman began a walk back to Victor's Village. Assuming he was following her, Norman began speaking. "So, what do you need?" he asked. She mentioned something back at the store about alcohol being the problem. "Are you gonna hurt yourself again?" he jokingly asked, still walking forward.

Autumn took a moment to glare at his retreating back before actually following him. As much as she wanted to just stand there and make him come back, she didn't have time for that." No. I can't drink anymore so it's no trouble for you, right?" she said, realizing too late that catching up to him was difficult for her size. Maybe if she just said it, she wouldn't have to worry about his long ass legs. So, Autumn stopped walking, set a straight face, crossed her arms, and called after him. "I'm pregnant. It's yours."

Norman gave himself a few extra steps. Laughing, he spoke over his shoulder. "At least I don't have to share my good stuff with ya anymore." A few more steps and Norman heard the lack of a second set of steps. Shrugging, Norman kept walking, figuring she had given up, causing him to be blindsided by what she said. Turning, Norman faced her, a good yard or so between them. "It's what?" he asked, glaring at her. Crossing his arms, Norman's head began to shake. "No no no no no. I think you got something wrong there, kid," he said, looking at her. "I'm fine with helpin' you out when you're hurt, but I'm not the father," he said with a stern look, "I'm not here to take care of your child." Norman turned on his foot and began walking away again. "She's insane if she thinks that's mine," he though to himself.

Autumn stood her ground, glaring right into his eyes, even as he tried to deny it. "Kid? Really? I'm older than you," She finally snapped. Then she blinked, trying to keep from yelling at him. As the boy turned away, this time, she followed him immediately. "And you're wrong. It's yours- both of ours. It has to be yours, Norman," her voice cracked at the tail end. He was rejecting her, of course. Just like she knew he would. "And you will help me, Mister Rich Victor."

Norman shook his head. Her footsteps resumed behind him, causing him to keep going forward. She muttered something about her being older, but Norman ignored her. He only stopped when she said it had to be his. Standing still a moment, he rounded on her. "First: It doesn't have to be mine. We haven't done anything to make it mine. Unless you having the utmost hatred for me makes you pregnant," he began, "Secondly, I don't have to help, nor will I. There is no reason for me to." Folding his arms across his chest, Norman started at her. There was no way this was his kid.

If it was possible, the rage Autumn was already feeling increased.  "You think I'd lie about this to you of all people?" she practically growled the words as he finally came to a stop.  Stepping forward, she met his stare.   "Look, all I'm saying is, alcohol's a bitch, there's a funny little blank spot in my memory, and we both know where I woke up that time you oh so chivalrously helped me and my twisted ankle,"  The girl's voice dropped to just above a whisper as she spoke, having grown tired of yelling at him, "Now, some say you're a smart man, Mr. Rowe. I'm certain you can put the pieces together, even if you have that same memory blank.  But if you must continue to be stubborn about this, I'll get the tests done to prove it to you."  She gave a fake smile when she finished, as if daring him to challenge her assumption now.

Norman took a deep breath in, avoiding slapping her agian. Setting his face, he did have a blank spot of memory, like she said, but he refused to believe something had happened. Pointing a finger at her, he glared. "Yea, I might have a blank spot of memory, but I can almost guarentee not a damn thing happened between us," he said, dropping his hand. Shaking his head, Norman let out a small chuckle. "If you want something from me, just ask. Don't make me out to be a father of a child I know is not mine. I'm not the brightest, but I know good and well the odds of something happening between us are really quite fucking small." He took a step back. "If you can prove, without a doubt, that something did happen, then come back to me," he said, before turning around again. He didn't move just yet, but pulled a flask out and knocked back a drink.

Autumn was literally biting her tongue as he spoke, because interrupting him would just make it worse. "I already told you I'd get the proof, smart-ass," she finally said, "And is it really so hard to believe? Nobody's the same drunk."But he was already turning away from her. It made sense, after all. But she wasn't going to let him go that easy. No way in hell. "Whatever," she sighed, stepping around him so that she was facing his side. "Fine, I'll leave you to that perfect little mansion and expensive booze until I've got proof. But before I go, how about-" she snatched the flask from his hands as she spoke, "-You share a little bit, since you care oh so much about me."

Norman continued shaking his head. "Whatever," he muttered, ready to just end the confrontation. Letting her take the flask from his hand, Norman rolled his eyes. "Do you want me to make money rain from the sky on you too, now?" he demanded. Walking past her, he left the flask in her hand. Stalking away, Norman muttered under his breath. "You were more tolerable drunk, anyway," he said to himself, ready to pass out at home.
