Sometimes, chicken farming was almost too tedious for even Stacey to handle. The last batch of chicks had brought in too many roosters for even the whole Crane family to eat, so the rest were to be sold live. Stacey had left Zoe at home today, replacing her daughter with a crate of eggs, goat milk, and live cockerels, with her only instructions being to “sell it all.” Ah, this was the life.
Stacey called out her usual sales pitch, which managed to snag a few buyers, but most people just stared at her. By noon, she still had plenty of goods left, and the cockerels had started getting restless. They cackled and quarrelled in their cage, catching more than a few angry glances from the surrounding Peacekeepers. Stacey just shrugged and sighed. If only something would come along to distract her.

Tess finished her rounds of deliveries and basically had nothing to do. Or more like she didn't feel like spending anymore time watching the games, she don't wanna see what happens anyways. She folded her arms behind her head and strolled down the Upper District, listening to the banter and haggles for prices, it was always the more lively place that the peacekeepers don't really touch and it puts a smile on Tess to hear more than just animals. This was probably the longest her cousin has been gone and it's unnerving for the farms to be so quiet. She noticed most of the sellers were busy hustling but one particular girl looked like she kinda gave up trying to reel people in at least. Tess poked her way into the girl's vision, mostly curious and craving for social interaction, "Slow day?"
