Back To The Kitchen

I headed back into the kitchen laughing at myself. Back to hiding out. Maybe I could at least find something in here that I'd skipped before. I really wanted something different to eat other than an apple or some dried meat. I knew all of the cupboards were empty as well as the box. Is sighed. I hoped at least the fire was working its magic.

I got down on my knees and started to crawl around. I'm sure the capitol was certainly entertained by me right now. I used my hands to try and shift the floor boards, hoping that maybe I could lift one and find something to eat underneath. After all, the entire main hall floor was able to open. Anything was possible in here.

Atom manages to pry up the floorboard, there is nothing underneath but solid stone, he realizes that the wood can be used to burn and the nails can be pried out and used.

I smile with pleasure when I see the wood. I quickly pry up a bundle of pieces, ignoring the sting in my hands. I quickly run out of the kitchen and back up the steps. I stop halfway when I smell the smoke from the south rampart, and I blindly throw the wood towards the top, hoping that it makes the fire burn longer and get bigger. I retreat to the kitchen quickly and ponder the nails and what I could do with them.

My plan was beginning to backfire on me quickly. Without thinking, I grabbed my things and ran out of the room, and down to the first floor. I had to get out of the building now.
