PostSubject: The Lennix House Hold.   The Lennix House Hold. Icon_minitimeThu Apr 05, 2012 3:36 am

Mr.Lennix had been up late for the past few nights not getting any sleep. His daughter had been picked to play in the Capitol's stupid games, it wasn't fair. He didn't need to lose another family member, hadn't he suffered enough? and when she came back, she wouldn't be the same little girl he always thought of her to be. His own wife had passed away and Estrella was the only thing left that was his wife's. The rest of the children looked like him mean while Estrella looked more like her mother. Mr.Lennix had cried at night when alone but he still worked in the afternoons trying to keep busy. Tonight he had watched the chariot parade. He wasn't pleased at all with what his little girl was wearing but he had no voice in that, and she probably didn't either. Mr.Lennix thought Nathan to be an alright man but now that he had seemed to be getting closer to his daughter it rubbed him the wrong way. No, this wasn't supposed to happen, he wasn't supposed to sit here and watch all this, he didn't deserve it and non of his family did. Even the boys had a hard to controlling things and containing their feelings about their little sister being reaped.

A lot of the Capitol seemed to like his daughter and for that he hoped and then knew that his daughter was going to go far in the games and then if not win. He had to believe in it even if it didn't come true, he had to believe his daughter, she had to get sponsors now and by the interview she'd probably get more. He had to think positively about this, Ella would have.

Maya strolled up with her head down, took her hands out of her pockets and knocked on the door. "Mr. Lennix? Are you here? It's Maya. Maya Summit. Can I come in?" she called, and rapped her knuckles on the door once again, then stuffed her hands back into he pockets. She looked distressed. Her hair, which was in a loose ponytail, was disheveled, her purple t-shirt was dirty, and her jeans were torn. She sighed, and spoke out again. "Hello?"

Mr.Lennix stalked his way to the door, he had been watching the games, that his daughter had been in. He answered the door and smiled a bit. "Come in please." He said to Maya and left the door open and hurried back to the living room hoping he hadn't missed anything, like his daughter's death or anything. When he sat back down he was too shocked to say anything when he saw the trap go on his daughter. Words could not explain the emotions that went through his body.

Maya nodded in thanks, when her gaze wandered over to the screen showing the Hunger Games. She gasped. "Is that- that's Estre-no! I'm going to march right up to the Capitol with EVERY SINGLE ROCK IN THE ENTIRE DISTRICT and-" Suddenly, she saw that Ella wasn't dead yet, and people were helping get her down. She decided not to curse the very people who could save her friend's life, and splurtuing a bunch of stuff about violence was probably not the best thing to do around Mr. Lennix. "Errmm.... make them all a nice little steam bath by heating up the rocks and pouring ice water on them? Or maybe build them a little rock structure? So they realize that giving is better than murdering children....?" she trailed off, unsure of her words. Maya felt like the next word she said could affect Ella's life, even though her rational mind knew it wouldn't make a difference. "Well, um maybe we can get her a sponsor?" she offered weakly, then stayed quiet, eyes glued to the Hunger Games. She realized Nate must like Estrella, and somewhere in the confines of her mind, part of her laughed, sputtering 'I knew it! I totally knew it!' and falling over on the floor. Maya shook her head to clear it and sat down on the floor.

Mr.Lennix was silent as he watched the games, he had to be he didn't want to get his hopes up and then have them crushed and he also didn't was to believe she would have died. Finally it came to an end of the second night and Ella was no longer in that horrible dungeon. There was only thirteen more left which meant twelve more for his daughter to fight against. He did know if he got her back she would never be the same emotionally and she wouldn't be very happy. He could tell the feelings the boy, Nathan. Had towards his daughter, he even saw the interview. He had a feeling she liked him back so he'd let it go.. If she made it home though..She wouldn't be happy, maybe she'd be happy if she could just die instead of winning, maybe she'd be happier than coming back home. This made him get up and leave the tv. He couldn't watch this any more tonight so he went off to bed. One of Ella's brother's came downstairs and noticed Maya. "How's Ella doing?" He asked coming and sitting down.

Maya looked backwards at Ella's brother. There were tears in her eyes if you looked closely, but she wasn't really crying. "She's not dead yet." She didn't want to say much in case she missed something in the Games.

(Sorry, I'm braid-dead today. Too focused on the Hunger Games.)

He came down and sat on the couch and began to watch the games. By the time morning hit he noticed that his sister was now out, and as afternoon approached she was perfectly fine, well she did have some damage to her but she wasn't nearly as damaged as the others. The dungeons was quite interesting to say the least.

Maya was relieved that Ella was out of the dungeons. She felt bad for Nate, though, who was still stuck in there. At least the two girls seemed to be taking each-other out. The crazy one and the one who seemed nice but seems to have a very strong sense of self-preservation, especially when the Gamemakers decide that only one of them should survive. She was probably a decent person before this, though, whereas the District 6 girl is just... interesting. She seems to be losing her mind, as well. I thought she might be one of those awesome little girls with a bit of spunk, but no. She's just crazy. Estrella could actually win this. She has no current enemies, does she? I don't remember any. She's not in the dungeons anymore. She's doing okay. She might come home. Don't get your hopes up Maya, but hey, who knows? Maybe you WILL see her again. The optimistic part of her mind cheered. The pessimistic side snarled. SHE WON'T BE THE SAME! Ella may live on, but your best friend is GONE, okay? ACCEPT IT. Maya couldn't keep from physically slapping herself on the head. I really shouldn't be the one calling the kid from 6 crazy, should I? MY THOUGHTS ARE ARGUING WITH EACHOTHER! Something is clearly wrong here. I need to focus on Estrella.

I knock on the door and stick my head in. I had actually managed to stop crying. You could tell I'd been bawling my eyes out though. My eyes were red a puffy, and my nose was still runny. "Can... Can I come in?" I ask quietly. I had acted like I didn't love him all this time that way if something like this happened I wouldn't react like this. Apparently I failed.

Maya shrugged, eyes squeezed tightly shut as if the horrors on the screen weren't real as long as she couldn't see them. She was so close. She was almost there. That District 4 boy was dying too, why couldn't the timing have been slightly different? If she had attacked, then him, then her, she might have won! I don't understand why people can come so close and make you feel like they're going to survive and then fate kills them off, just to spite you. She didn't do anything wrong. Why was she the one who had to die? Maya thought to herself, not daring to say the words out loud. She didn't want to upset Katie, after all that the poor little girl had been through. It wouldn't be fair.

So, Maya wiped her tears away, opened her eyes, pulled her hair back from her face, and nodded. "It's not my house, but I'm sure it'd be fine. I'd ask you if you were okay, but, well..." She sniffled, trying to hide the fact that she was devastated to make Katie feel better. "Here, you can come sit if you want. Need a hug?"

Mr.Lennix stared at the screen. He had been watching it for the past month cheering his daughter on and he was rather content with the fact she never really killed anyone and if she did it was a mutt or she killed the one district two tribute because she had seemed to have wanted it. He was so proud of her and was hoping and praying on her coming home but his prayers weren't enough. He was so sure that Estrella was going to win and come back to him, he'd have his daughter to hold in his arms again, and be safe from all the terrors. Unfortunately near the end of it all, it was a close battle but Estrella's leg injuries were too much. She had collapsed on the ground and that's when he stood up. "Come on Estrella get up!" He shouted at the tv tears streaming down his face, he wasn't going to believe this was the end. "Get up and finish him, he's weak!" He shouted again and this time he was on a rampage, his sadness slowly seeping into a boiling anger. He had to finish watching his daughter daughter die and quicly did a silent prayer but as soon as the district four boy started to celebrate he grabbed the tv and threw it across the room and it shattered into pieces.

He then knocked pictures down of his daughter and his wife and saw the broken class everywhere. He slowly went down on his knees and buried his head in his hands and let loose. He cried harder than anything, she was gone from the world and no longer here, she wasn't coming back, he never got to properly say goodbye, she was killed in the games, and all that he had left of her were the sheep, how could he manage to take care of them while they'd seep down into his core and remind him of his daughter? Mr.Lennix sobbed, he didn't care who saw him he had just lost his daughter. He got up and stumbled his way outside. He looked out to the sheep grazing in the grass. He looked at them and it was like he saw her, she was unharmed and she was busy running around the sheep. She was still there and then she looked up at him, smiled, waved and laughed a bit. He walked closer and closer and her voice rang through his ears. Just as he was about to go and wrap her up in his arms she faded and he was left alone with the sheep. She really was gone and she wasn't coming back. Now all he had to do was hope that her mother would look after her. They were both gone from him and he'd never be the same again.

Maya sat there uncomfortably as Mr. Lennix shouted at the TV, his tears threatening to make the situation real. Maya herself was also crying, but she tried not to acknowledge that, because until the world cried, she felt like Estrella's death wasn't final. But it is... she realized. Estrella's gone, and nothing is going to change that. When Mr. Lennix threw the television across the room, Maya screamed. She hadn't known how deeply he was affected by this. She watched him tear down all the pictures, and reached down to pick one of them up from the floor, cutting her finger on the shattered glass. At that moment, Maya's heart broke. She froze, unable to move and comfort Estrella's dad, unable to breathe, unable to think. She just kept seeing Estrella's death played over in her mind, again and again and again, torturing her with every repetition.

Finally, when Mr. Lennix went outside, the movement snapped her out of it. She gasped, shakily beginning to breathe again. She trailed after him, stumbling on the shards of glass and clutching the picture in her hand like if she kept holding on Estrella would come back, even though she know that Estrella was never, ever coming back. Blood dripped down her fingertips and pooled on the floor, but Maya didn't care. She could hardly feel it, but when she picked of the picture, she had also picked of a piece of glass which was now half-embedded in her palm. It took effort for her even to notice the pain at all.

She looked at the sheep, so free and careless. "How can they not know?" she whispered. "How can they not care?" A tear flickered down Maya's cheek as she watched Mr. Lennix, wishing she could see what he seemed to be watching. Maya closed her eyes, displacing another tear, which fell to the ground. Maya collapsed onto her knees, burying her head in her arms. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't see Estrella's face. There were memories, yes, many memories, but nothing that felt like it was from Estrella instead of Maya herself. Maya bit her lip and dropped the photo, the sliver of glass impaling itself in the ground with the force of gravity, shimmering among the occasional drop of blood. Her fingers raked at the ground, pulling up blades of grass and lumps of dirt, and probably infecting the cut on her hand, but that didn't matter. All that mattered to Maya was that her best friend was dead. Maya threw back her head, hands scrabbling at her hair, cheeks smeared with blood. Her ambery-eyed gaze fell on the specks of blood staining the picture, and she gasped again, having a panic attack. When it was over, she dropped her arms back onto the ground, shuddering and curling up into a ball. It's over now. She's never coming back. There are no second chances now, she's just gone, Maya. Estrella is gone.
