Death's at the Door

Subject: Death's at the Door Mon Jul 09, 2012 8:00 pm

I slowly moved up the steps looking like a ghost under the street light. My body moved fast as a snake, muscles coiled and gun ready. I crouched low under the normal height of a small child. The black steel gun was cold and heavy in my left hand, four more clips at my belt, two knives at my side, along with another hidden knife in the gun's handle. I wasn't expecting trouble, but you could never be to sure with my father. I stepped softly into the the room, the carpet muffling the sound of my footfall. I had on my 2S armor, and the disk in the back. I had the lights off, not wanting to cause anyone's curiosity into my location. I came up behind my father, the gun barrel at the nape of his neck. I leaned in close, and whispered "This is for mom..." I pulled the trigger, the noise silent in the night.

Zalia prowled around the streets of District 2. There was nobody in her house to worry about her, so she often explored at night. It was better this way. For one thing there were less annoying people around. And there wasn't anyone to bang into her usually. As she walked along quietly Zalia spotted a guy. He had a whole bunch of armour on and a whole bunch of weapons with him. Sadly there didn't seem to be any peacekeepers around to arrest him. Zalia watched as he snuck around before entering a house. She should at least see what he was doing. Zalia didn't really want a nutter running around the streets of District 2, and this guy definitely looked like a weirdo. Zalia silently followed him and peeked into the doorway. She was just intime to watch him shoot a guy, probably his father. Zalia rolled her eyes and stepped into the doorway. "Well, now what are you going to do?" she asked, nodding at the dead body on the floor. He couldn't just leave it there.

Three peacekeepers surrounded the two Citizens, guns raised. "Freeze!" One shouted. Another radio'd for backup to be on standby.

Zalia glared at the guy she had followed. "I assure you I haven't done anything wrong. I simply followed this boy because he looked very suspicious." Zalia raised her hands in the air to show that she had no weapons on her. The last thing she wanted was for the Peacekeepers to arrest her, especially when she hasn't actually done anything. She looked at the Peacekeepers with an honest face. They should see she was free of guilt.

Zalia watched as the Peacekeeper signaled for her to step away from the boy. She nodded slightly and took a wide step away from him. She was roughly eight metres away from him now. She looked to the Peacekeepers to see if this was far enough. She also wanted to see how they would deal with the boy. When she killed her father they had been very kind. But only because he had constantly harmed Zalia and her mother before hand. He was going to be sentenced to death anyway, so no one really minded that Zalia had just done it before time.

I smiled, dropping to the floor while they're attention was focused on her. The knife fell from the handle of the gun, and flashed from my hands into the lamp, the only light source. As the room went black, I lunged forwards, hopefully taking one of the peace keepers by surprise. They other had reacted quickly, forcing my to turn and use him as a human shield. I grabbed the knife at my belt, it was long and curved close to the color of black. The blade glinted off of the light from the gun's muzzle. I tossed it to my right, and shot back at the other guard, seeing him tumble with a hit.

A fourth Peacekeeper came up and tackled the boy from behind, freeing his fellow officer. "Alright pal, weapons possession, murder and assaulting Peacekeepers. You're in it bad"

I smashed my head back into the nose of the peace keeper, Rolling away from the peace keeper sending a knife into the side of the unprotected chest. I pulled the home made key from the heel of my shoe, and slipped it into the hand cuffs, listening to the sound of them hitting the floor.

The two other Peacekeepers both shoot the boy, immobilizing him.

One of the bullets hits me in the legs, making it hard for me to move. I pull the gun up and to the right, shooting down the door frame, then shooting out the fire place, causing great amounts of light to seep through the shadows. I crawled to the body of my father, just as it sweeps over me in a quick burst burning down the house, Leaving me for dead.

The Peacekeepers quickly disarm the boy and haul him to jail.

The house is burning to the floor, the ceiling falls collapsing on top of the Peace Keepers and freeing the boy. "You don't control this place, it's no Arena." I Moved back through the back door, grabbing the girl, and charging to the back. I saw another squad of Keepers, but they didn't stand a chance against my gun fire. I moved into the trees and was gone into the houses by the time they recovered.

Zalia watched as the whole scene played out before her. The stupid boy was resisting. Didn't he know that he would be in less trouble if he had calmly acceptedthe first couple of charges? The stupid now had a whole bunch of them on his head. And then the house started burning. And this idiot of a guy was still aggravating the Peacekeepers. He must be insane. This thought was reinforced as he grabbed Zalia. "Hey let go of me!" she yelled indignantly, twisting out if his grip. She ran out if the front door, coughing from smoke. Once she was out if the house she remained there. The Peacekeepers might think she was guilty if she ran. It was better to remain on scene until they told her she could go. They might need a witness or something anyway.

I fell away, knocked off balance, turning I shot the peace keeper. Dropping low, I fell to the floor, as the rest of the roof caved in, Collapsing like Domino's. The Remaining Peace Keepers scrambled out of the way.

~ that's cheating. besides, the building collapsed in on itself.

The bullets smashed harmlessly against my armored skin.
