District 12 Train

The luxury of the Speedy Train awaits the Tributes...

Nicanor made his way onto the train, he looked back once more at his district realizing that this was probably the last time he would ever be able to see it. He was just about to go onto the train when he caught a glimpse of his father standing alone in the back of the crowd. He gave a bright smile towards Nic, that was all it took for Nic to realize that his father still loved him deeply and gave him the final push of confidence it took to make his way onto the train. Once inside the train he was stunned by the pure beauty that the first cart showed. It was a truly stunning site to see. He took his time to soak in what the cart looked like before he noticed that Lori was sitting down on a couch. He decided to make his way over and share some company for the train ride. He picked the chair that was right across from the couch and plopped down on it.

Nic listened to politely to his mentor ask them a weird question. Why would he ever have to ask his tributes if they were going to try. Of course no one just wanted to lie down in die. Nic came to the conclusion that this mentor of theirs must have some sort of post traumatic stress disorder and just is repressing the memories of having to met all of these poor kids who he had to try and train so they would live, but they all ultimately died. Nic answered in a way that was to try and please his mentor, "The careers will not touch me and i have no intention of dying, you can count on that." He never usually showed this amount of confidence and it was in no means of what he felt, but he was smart enough to get away with acting it out.

Nicanor nearly laughed at being called cocky. That was one thing that no one accused him of being. He must have misread just exactly what his mentor wanted to hear from him and Lori. Oh well, it will not be hard to be humble he thought to himself, that is one thing that he could do. He sat there in his chair and watched his mentor as Lori asked him his name. She did not look impressed at all and even a little stand offish. Nic reached over to the table that was within his arms reach and grabbed an apple, quickly polishing it on his shirt and taken a bite out of it.

Nicanor sat there eating his apple, he was content with letting Lori ask all of the questions at this point since they were the same ones that he was going to ask anyways. She was very blunt with how she asked them, but he would bet that to get through to this mentor of there's, Franklin, you might have to be very blunt and not be afraid of being insulting. Which Nic was not very comfortable about doing. He was not going to say anything to her about it though, because she could be the only ally that he might possibly have in the games. Even though he was not very certain about having her in an alliance since she seemed to not care much about other people. But he could not help but switching his attention towards her, something about her lured him towards her. Maybe it was her bluntness towards their mentor or maybe it was just the fact that she looked good in her reaping day outfit.

Nicanor listened to his mentor go from extremely dull to extremely exuberant. Wow that changed extremely fast nNic thought to himself while he finished up his apple and placed it in the trash can right by his chair. That is when he heard his mentor ask them if they had ever met each other. He quickly glanced over at Lori, who had just glanced over at him, he quickly turned away just as quickly as he had looked at her when he noticed she looked at him too. Of course they had met once, when she seemed to be in some sort of distress while he was on his daily run. He was just as shocked as Lori was when he said lori and him will have so much chemistry. What could he possibly mean by that other than the one thing that came to Nic's mind. But of course, Lori already had beaten him to the punch by asking Franklin what he meant.

Nicanor looked up at Franklin when he walked over to him and put his arm on his shoulder while talking about how he knew what Franklin meant by having chemistry. Nic sat there for a moment thinking about what that certain chemistry was. The only thing he could think of was that Franklin thought that Nic had a crush on Lori. Sure, he though tthat she was kinda cute but he would not really know if he himself had a crush on her. He had never felt that feeling before, not really having talked to too many women back in district 12. He listened while Lori responded to what Franklin had said, was i really that bad of a choice for a guy he had thought, not even realizing he was comparing himself to other guys that she would have possibly liked.
