Ceasar Flickerman

Ceasar gets up from his seat, "Now its time to give a warm welcome to our District Twelve female tribute, Lorence Sullivan!" He shouts loudly and points off stage, still holding his hand out to grab the hand of the oncoming tribute. The crowd cheers for the next Tribute as they make their way on stage.

Interview Outfit

Lori walked out onto the stage. The crowds' cheers were deafening and the lights were too bright for her tastes. Already things weren't off to a good start in her mind. Well, you aren't very charming...so this should be a train wreck," the judgmental voice spoke up as she made her way to the chair. She took Ceasar's hand and gave it a quick shake before sitting down in the chair. "Hello Ceasar." She spoke quickly and straight to the point.

Ceasar smiled with his blindingly white teeth, taking his own seat after the Tribute. "Great to finally meet you, may I call you Lori?" he asks kindly, putting a hand on hers reassuringly as he asked, to remind her he was here to help her.

Lori put on her best smile as she nodded her head in response. "Of course, everyone else does. My father wanted to have a boy but got me instead. Though he didn't budge on the name choice obviously." It was always a big joke that her name was a boy's name. "Good, good. Making a joke is always good." She sat there waiting she guessed for the next question, trying desperately to hide the awkwardness that she was feeling. Though she felt like she was doing a very bad job of it.

The audience chuckled at the joke, and Ceasar smiles. "Well, Lori, lets just get right into it" he says, the crowd hanging on to his words, as always. "Rumor has it there is a little something going on between the District Twelve tributes, care to shed any light on it?"

Lori could feel her face begin to flush and turn bright red in what she was sure would be a close up moment for her. "Oho! Things just got fun....yes Lori dear, why don't you tell them just how you feel." Lori looked down, she was truly speechless and really unsure of what she should say. There couldn't be love in the games....eventually one person would die, both couldn't make it and that was a fact. "But on the other hand....being likeable makes sponsors want to help you. And what does the Capitol love more than a love story? Nothing." The reasonable voice chimed in just in time to agree with the desiring part of her brain. Just be mysterious. That could work right. She looked around a few time, just trying her best to hide the awkwardness she felt now as not only the entire audience but all of Panem waited for an answer. "Well Ceasar, I really don't understand what you are talking about." She tried to be coy and hoped he wouldn't continue, but she knew that that was far to much to wish for.

Ceasar smiled. "Well, we've heard that there's a, what to call it." he paused, thinking. The audience shouted out words of love and hate alike, hoping to aid their favorite Interviewer, but Ceasar remembered how it had been described to him on his own "A certain chemistry between the two of you"

Lori wanted to run, run far from the place she was being forced to sit at now. She listened to the words, 'a certain chemistry' and as she pondered those words she began to realize they sounded awfully familiar. "Franklin.... She tried to search the crowd to see if she could find him and give him a death stare but she couldn't find him. The silence was getting to long. Lori opened up her mouth but in an instant it became dry and she couldn't really form the words. So like all other things she just needed to push this one away. "Either way Ceasar, it doesn't matter. In the end only one of us can live, right? So anything I feel means nothing." Good...an answer that said nothing and everything hopefully. She just wished it would stop and then she realized that she now knew what Franklin's plan had been all along? To use her as some stupid story for the Capitol. "Great."

Ceasar smiled. "Oh, so its that kind of relationship" he said, the audience giggling. They'd seen this situation many times before. "So, have any allies for the Games Lori?"

Lori went from awkward, to blushing, to frustrated in the span of a few seconds as each emotion hit her in succession. Yes....she couldn't hide it anymore there was something that had drawn her to Nicanor, but she needed to try and keep her distance. It was better that way. But as the crowd giggled she couldn't help but feel like she had made a complete fool out of herself and now she had to sit in the shame that was surrounding her. Not to mention the once sweet and smooth voice now yelled intensely at her as it formed regret in her mind. "How could you? Not only are you denying what you feel but you are also giving up on probably the only thing that will save you in the arena when it comes to sponsors!!" It just kept hitting her, the voice repeating its words in her mind and she wished she could reverse time and be more likeable. Say the things that she knew might be her greatest strength but she just couldn't; being the lovesick tribute who was desperate to live happily ever after with her district partner was just not who she was. "Though its who you want to be...just give in to it." She tried to get her mind back on track, to answer the newest question in front of her, maybe she could salvage this. "No Ceasar, I actually don't have any allies really. I'm not really good at making friends." Lori would have kicked herself if she could, she was single handedly running this interview into the ground every time she opened her mouth. She could now only look down at her own hands, not wanting to even glance up from her own failure.

Ceasar patted Lori's hand, "I think there may be someone who will disagree in his interview" he says, smiling and winking at the girl. "Anywho, do you have a strategy planned out for the Bloodbath?"

Lori looked up from her hands and as she did she could feel a warm smile cross her face. Though it was only a few simple words, it somehow managed to make her feel a little better. But Ceasar had this effect, he could make a crowd love even a pile of garbage if he needed to. She nodded for a moment before opening her mouth to speak. "Of course I have plans Ceasar. They mainly involve getting anything that is closest to me and then getting the heck out of there....it is never safe to hang around or go all the way into the horn." She could feel her body begin to tense up as she thought of Gunnar running into the bloodbath trying to grab the one and only bow in the games. The memory was so clear as the large District 2 boy stabbed him from behind after he had claimed his prize. He didn't even have a chance to ready an arrow or turn and run. No, Lori knew the bloodbath was bad, very bad.

Smiling, Ceasar continued with his questions. "Do you have any guesses about the arena this year?" he asks, it was a popular question, to see what was expected and what it actually was.

Lori quickly shrugged, it was something she hadn't thought of really. She didn't think about what the arena was, but instead how she would deal with it when she got there. "Trees." Her mouth blurted out before she really even thought about it. "Trees?" he judgmental voice boomed in her ear. She snapped herself back to elaborate on what she meant, "More places to hide. But I think that the best option for me would be to have a Capitol themed arena. That way I can eat all the food I want and sleep in a comfy bed every night." She said this pretty deadpan, being almost serious when she said this.

The audience laughed, entertained why Lori's humor, even if she hadn't intended to make a joke. "I'm sure any tribute could only dream of such an arena" Ceasar said, smiling.

Lori didn't really mean to make a joke, but it seemed that she had so why not just go from there. It was kind of funny though as she thought back on it. "I think I would be able to die happy with that kind of environment. I would probably die from eating too much food or taking too many hot showers." That time she made the joke, and hopefully the reaction would be the same as her first statement.

Ceasar laughed, they could turn this into a quick run of comedy. "Ah yes, the dreaded shower environment" he says jokingly. "I don't think we'd see many tributes fight each other, you'd all be so bloated from the food you would all end up being too overweight to walk"

Lori couldn't help but laugh at what the interview had become a series of jokes one right after the other. What started out as a simple, albeit stupid comment from her now became a big joke. "Well at least we aren't talking about my personal life and feelings anymore. That is something for me to figure out on my own, not while the entire Capitol watches for their own entertainment." She decided to just go off of what Ceasar said last, about the tributes becoming too overweight to walk. "Especially those from the higher districts like me. We don't see this much food, we wouldn't stand a chance. I think I have easily gained 20 pounds from my time here." Good, use humor to get them to forget the trip ups you had earlier.

Lori's face began to flush as Ceasar complimented her looks. "I think it is the dress, it is pretty slimming. Luckily they got me when I was much thinner into the parade outfit. It was so tight everyone would have been able to see the weight I have put on." She wasn't really a fan of what she wore in the parade, it was far too tight for her tastes and the makeup was so intense. Lori looked down to her hands as they sat in her lap. She didn't like talking about herself this much, especially her appearance.

"Don't be silly, you look great!" Ceasar exclaimed, smiling at Lori. The bell went off. "Oh drat, it seems we're out of time!" he says, genuinely saddened. "Lets give a big hand and some Good luck to Lori Sullivan of District Twelve everyone!" he shouted, the crowd bursting into cheers.

Lori heard the buzzer go off and it was like her heart jumped up and out of her chest. She could finally go think, which she desperately needed to do up on the floor she was staying on. She hoped she left a good enough impression on the audience, even after the few little missteps she had earlier on in the interview. She gave a quick wave as she stepped off stage and was met by Heath and Franklin. She took the time to give Franklin that death stare she had been meaning to give him and watched the rest of the interviews, there was only one left anyways.
