Somewhere Safe

Running, runnin, and running, I had to get to somewhere safe. I stop when I fibd my self in a small cave with water. I beed to be careful and watch out for the tides.

The cave is dank and wet as water drips a little from the ceilings, hitting Jaden on the head every few minutes as if it was apart of some old Chinese torture or something. Nothing else stands out to Jaden at first glance.

The cave is a bit creepy and dark. I look around and nothing else seems to be of danger. My mouth is dry from running a lot. I wonder if the water that occationally drips on my head is safe to drink. Its not much to drink but a few drops can quentch my thirst. If it is safe to drink, I can look around for a container type thing to catch the water in... I walk around the cave a bit looking for that.

As the water hits Jaden's tongue it is obvious the water dripping from the ceiling is the same salt water that surrounds the island. Looking around though, there is only damp rocks and a few broken shells that could be used to hold a small amount of water.

The water rolls down my head. I taste a bit of it. It's the same salt water as the large body of salt water by the cornucopia. " Ugh. Not drinkable. But it can soothe burns I learned that...." I mutter. I notice a few broken shells that can hold water. A small amount of it. I decide that if it rains, "maybe the rain water is drinkable..." Great, now I'm talkinf to my self. I must be crazy.

As the water drips down it sort of gives a lulling affect, maybe Jaden was just tired from the day or going crazy but it seemed to be a little bit relaxing.

I sigh deciding to sit down. Could you purify salt water? I don't know. I'm growing a bit tired. The sound of the water is relaxing. I need to keep watch for the night though. Animals have water in them. So if I see an animal, which I doubt I will any tume soon, I can try to cook and eat it. Which would givd me water...

The relaxing sound takes over as Jaden feels her eyes starting to get droopy. Maybe some sleep would be good for the tribute after the long day.

I sigh and braise my srlf against the cold wall of the cave. I close my eyes and curl up trying to be as warm as possible before I slip into a slumber.

As Jaden slept the water from the ocean surrounding the island slowly began to rise up until it just started to touch her legs. After about 3 hours of peaceful sleep, the tide contained itself no longer as a wave crashed in through the opening and pushed her sleeping body into the back of the grotto wall. The water now continues to rise, quicker and quicker as it starts to reach the very top of the cave and the currents push against her body towards the back of the cave.

I was sleeping peacefully. I get woken up by high tide! I search arround dessperately for an escape route. Need to find one. Quickly!

The tide seemed to roll back almost for a second, allowing Jaden to at least get a mouthful of air and not salt water before it pushed forwards again and knocked her back into the grotto once more.

I gulprd the air glad its not salt. Not for long. I look around at the cave entrence. Before I can locate it however, it knocks me back again.

The water got stronger as it continued to rise. It was now basically to the ceiling and still pushing with as much power as it started with, knocking Jaden up against the ceiling now.

As Jaden kept fighting, she kept feeling more and more fatigued, if she didn't get out soon this tide would easily take over. Her muscles began to hurt as the waves knocked her again to the rock ceiling.

I need to find an escape! I feel really tired right now. I hope low tide comes soon. In the mean time, I keep trying to fight. If I go with the flow of the water and try to swim out, would that work?

The water is not letting up at all and as it its current is really only pushing her further and further into the back of the grotto. Luckily for her the water is up to her chin, unfortunately for her the water is up to her chin and rising still.
