Subject: The Mysterious Avian House~ Tue May 06, 2014 9:45 pm

Fallon had visited the doctors a week ago and she had been hanging around Storm a bit and she tried not to distance herself for a long time because she didn't want to hide anything from him, or be off putting, but it was difficult to work up the courage as a teenager. What if he ran off? He's not the type of guy to do that but you never know. Fallon was scared, and she had to old herself together a bit. For once though she had met Storm's mother. Nurse Avian. She seemed like a good mother, working to help her children and try to be there. Fallon didn't have the whole story though. She had the slip of paper burning in her pocket.

Pulling it out she looked at the number and the address all together. His mother had given it to her, she knew what was up and so did Fallon. Storm had a right to know. She felt bad just showing up randomly and all that but she had to tell him. Fallon walked through the housing district she saw children playing here and there, and it made her think of her results and she pushed those aside for the moment as she found his house and she put the slip back in her pocket and she knocked on the door.

"I get it!" Kaden called as there was a knock on the door. There was no stopping the little guy, he'd recently figured out how to open the door, so whenever someone knocked it had to be him who answered. It scared Storm a bit, but he couldn't argue. So he just watched from the table where he and Kaden had been playing a game, expecting Mom or Elliot home early for some reason. "For you bubbah! Pwetty!" the kid said as he opened the door, but Storm couldn't exactly see due to the angles of stuff. "For me? Who-" He'd gotten to his feet as Kaden swung the door more open, "Fallon?! You're a surprise," He wondered for a moment how she'd figured out where he lived, or why she even showed up in the first place. But he wasn't going to ask in front of Kaden, and besides, it was a pleasant surprise, or so he hoped. "You wanna come in?"

Fallon had been waiting for awhile and she could hear the little guy inside and she smiled, she loved his little brother Kaden, he was an adorable little guy. Soon the door opened and she heard Kaden speak to Storm. Soon she heard Storm and she smiled at the site of him. "Well I'm full of surprises apparently" She said with a small laugh, more of an inside joke to her now. Fallon had looked up at Storm as he mentioned if she wanted to come inside, "Maybe later, I was kind of wondering if you could come out here for a little bit. It wouldn't be that long away from Kaden." She said smiling down to the toddler who was always so adorable. She then looked back to Storm with pleading eyes hoping he'd say yes.

"Full of 'em huh?" he said, looking a bit confused at the statement. Then she asked to just stay outside, which made him more concerned than confused. "Okay...Hey, bud, go back to coloring, alright? I'll be back in a sec," Storm had made his way to the door. "Alwite!" Kaden giggled and scampered off, back to the table. Storm followed him with his eyes, making sure he was fine with his coloring before stepping outside, closing the door behind himself. "What's up? You're okay, right?" He looked her in the eyes as he asked, looking for a clue of some type. He was usually pretty good at figuring out what was bothering people, but he couldn't tell with Fallon. All he knew was that she'd been acting odd all week and now this... it was seriously concerning.

Fallon watched as Kaden ran back inside to go to his colouring book. Soon as Storm closed the door Fallon could feel her heart pound in her chest she wasn't sure if she could tell him but he asked if she she was okay and she almost wanted to start crying right then and there. "Well, I'm not dying" She said lightly to make a bit of a joke but she could feel the swelling in her throat and the tug and knots she felt inside. She didn't know if she could tell him. "I'm.." She paused as tears streamed down her face and she looked up at him as more spilled over, "I'm pregnant, Storm." She managed to make out softly and then still held his gaze hoping he wouldn't be mad or leave or anything.

Storm smiled a bit when she said she wasn't dying. That was a relief. But his smile was lost when the tears came. And then she told him. "What?" was his first response, which was probably a bad one, but how else would you react when that wasn't even a thought on your mind. He took a breath, giving himself time to collect his thoughts. "Well Fallon, I'd have to say..." he said, "that's a surprise." One side of his mouth turned up in a smile as he finally understood her little joke earlier. With a sigh, he leaned back against the door, looking up at the sky. He seemed lost in thought, and rightly so. Some people got excited about this, some people couldn't deal and split. Storm was just lost. There were a lot of questions, of course, but they were all wrong to ask. Especially if he trusted Fallon, which he did. So he asked the only question that really mattered. "You sure you don't wanna come inside?"

Fallon's heart was beating in her chest, and she felt as if it was almost ready to burst out of her chest. She was waiting for him to say anything, or just something. When he did, it made her scared for a moment, unsure of which route he was going with this. Then he had referenced her joke and she chuckled a bit wiping the tears of her face as she had a small smile on her face. Soon there was a bit of a pause and she was waiting yet again but this time it wasn't as bad of a wait, it didn't seem like he was just going to leave her and she was glad for that. Soon he asked if she was sure she didn't want to come inside, and she answered simply. "I'd love to come inside."

Storm smiled as she took the offer. Now that they both understood the situation, it seemed that there was nothing to worry about. He looked back to her, meeting her eyes again as he opened the door behind him and backed into the home. He kept his back against the door, so by the time it was fully open, Fallon had a clear entrance without him having to move or turn his back to her for even a second. He opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by a little voice. "Bubah! I cuda gotted it!" Kaden's little feet pounded on the floor as he ran from the table to the door, and Storm had to laugh. "Well, bud, There wasn't a knock, was there? What did we say about when there's no knock?" Kaden looked from his brother, to Fallon, and down to his feet. "Nevah open the doah without a not," he mumbled. Storm rolled his eyes in a helpless gesture. "That's right, no knock, no open. Now, why don't you show Fallon here what you've been working on?"

Fallon smiled as he opened the door and she got to see inside his house more. She had never seen it before and she was rather glad that she had met his mother. That also meant though, she knew already. She might be expecting it already so she pushed it out of her thought for the moment. Soon she heard Kaden and she broke into a bigger smile. Soon Storm told Kaden to show her what he was working on and soon she saw the toddler run off and Fallon followed behind. "What have you been working on Kaden? Anything I can help with?" Fallon as the small boy who did resemble Storm a bit.

Kaden scampered off back towards the table with Fallon in tow. As they went, Storm closed the door, making sure it was secure before he joined them at the table; he didn't want it blowing open in the wind or anything. "Twacta!" Kaden was chirping, holding up his coloring page, which was nearly done and colored perfectly inside the lines. "He's better at this than I am," the boy admitted as he took a seat, trying to hide the poor job he'd done on a gray horse. "Pwetty Buttahfwy!" Kaden said, passing the blanked page to Fallon, along with a few crayons. Storm shrugged, taking another page for himself to work on as Kaden mumbled stuff about Twactas and Buttahfwies.

It was about an hour later when there was another knock at the door. Storm and Fallon had been enjoying a light conversation with Kaden as they all colored in the twactas and fwoweas and whatever else there was to color. "I turn!" the little one called, racing to the door to do his duty. "That'll be the parents," Storm grimaced as he said it, getting to his feet. Both were subconscious reactions, in response to the return of the two people he only simple tolerated at the moment. It was just his luck that today had to be the day that their schedules overlapped, so they could arrive home together. "Daddy!" Kaden exclaimed as he opened the door. The man on the other side entered by scooping up Kaden in his arms. "Kade! How's it goin' big guy?" The toddler responded with a giggle, and the man moved away from the doorway. Storm's mother slipped in behind, closing the door. A faint smile touched her lips as she recognized the girl sitting at the table;she'd been right after all. "Welcome home Mom, Elliot," Storm said it stiffly, seeming to have forgotten Fallon for the moment as he stood, rooted to the spot, watching them. Elliot turned to him, all smiles, then his eyes seemed to widen in shock, "Oi, no one told me we had company!"

Soon Fallon came inside and she followed the young toddler and he showed her the picture of the tractor and the colouring that he did and she smiled. Soon her heard Storm mention that Kaden was better than him and she laughed a bit. Soon she was passed a pretty butterfly according to Kaden, "Well I wont let you down little guy" She said and used some of the crayons he had given her and she took her time neatly colouring the butterfly as best she could, Fallon wasn't much of an artist, she was much better at dancing and singing but those would be for another time.

~Time Skip~

Soon while they were all still colouring there was a knock at the door. She heard Storm mention that it'd be the parents and she nodded a bit, and that almost made her nervous for some reason, considering she had only met his mom once and that was when she was a nurse, and she had never met his dad before, and this was still the first time at Storm's house. Kaden ran for the door and answered it. It had proven to be his parents. That was when she heard his dad speak mentioning that he didn't know they had company and that's when the nerves and awkwardness hit hard. All Fallon could make out was, "Hi" and a small wave to the both of them. She was hoping she wasn't imposing on their family time or anything, but they didn't seem to tell her to go home yet and so far she felt like that was a good sign.

Storm seemed to snap out of whatever mode he was in once he was reminded that Fallon was there. "Oh, uh yeah. Sorry, this is-" "Pwetty Fawon!" Kaden interrupted Storm's introduction with his own name for Fallon, much to the amusement of the adults in the room. A smile crept at the corners of his mouth, but Storm didn't laugh like he normally would've. "Fallon," he corrected, "Is my uh...Well I'm her... We're kinda a couple," he wasn't exactly sure how to say it to his parents, who'd incidentally never heard of Fallon in their lives, at least to Storm's knowledge. His mother, in the background, seemed to understand perfectly what was going on. Elliot, however, was utterly baffled. He set Kaden down, much to the little guy's disappointment (he sulked off by himself, refusing to return to the table), and took a few steps towards Fallon. "Why'dja never mention a special girl before, Stormy?" The man asked; Storm grimaced. Because I hate you, and I knew you'd call me "Stormy," the boy thought, eyeing the man as he extended a hand to Fallon. "Pleasure to meet ya, lass. You can call me Elliot, if ya like," He glanced back to his wife, assuming she'd make an introduction. Ashiru had stepped further into the house and folded her arms, but not in a threatening way. "We've met," she said with a light smile. Both Elliot and Storm seemed confused by this, Storm even moreso than his father; he looked between his mother and Fallon for an explanation, but it seemed Ashiru wouldn't give one.

Fallon watched as Storm seemed to try and introduce her at this time, but soon Kaden cut in and Fallon broke out into a grin and a light shade of pink on her cheeks. He had called her 'pwetty' yet again and she always appreciated the little comments Kaden made, he made the situation not as awkward to deal with. Eventually Storm's father, called him Stormy, and that made mentally cringe, knowing Storm he probably didn't like that name all too much. Fallon kept looking to his mother, a few times, already knowing her and being a bit more comfortable but then again his mother already knew she was pregnant too. Fallon took Elliot's extended hand and gave it a light shake, as he introduce himself, and she gave him a small smile. She didn't have much to say considering her shy nature was overruling at the moment. That was when she heard his mother speak up, and she mentioned that they had met and Fallon gave a small smile to her. She noticed that both Storm an his father were confused now, and she sighed a bit. "We met at he clinic or whatever, she was the nurse who helped me." She told Storm and hopefully that'd put the pieces together for him. It might even click for his father too, unless his mother was just a nurse all around and didn't have a specific field. Fallon had no idea on that though.

Storm took a second to process that, but once Fallon's words had been fully digested, it all seemed to click together. Why his mother didn't seem at all surprised, why she'd been acting weird all week in fact. How Fallon found the house. Storm sighed, then looked between Elliot and his mother. The man had taken a step back after introducing himself, and now realization dawned on his face. Sure, Ashiru was a regular nurse, but past experience, current circumstance, and the fact that most of her shifts had always been in the most vital part of the hospital was enough to clue Elliot into what was going on. "So...we're all on the same page here?" Storm asked; it felt like dodging a whip here, not having to outright explain everything to his parents. His mother nodded, still smiling, and Elliot chuckled silently. "I'd say so," he said, looking between the two, "Well, congratulations." He looked like he wanted to stay more, but Kaden had gotten tired of being left alone. "Hungwy!" he said, pulling on Elliot's pant leg. His father shook his head and picked the little guy up, "Guess I'll take care of him," he said and headed off to the kitchen. "You're welcome to stay as long as you like," Ashiru said, "I'd better make sure he doesn't burn down my stove," she chuckled, then followed her husband. Storm didn't say anything, but he silently thanked them both for not being weird about it. He let out a breath, then looked to Fallon. "So..." he trailed off, not clear on what Fallon was thinking at the moment.

Fallon sat there as the whole Avian family seemed to be talking or silent at the moment. Eventually his dad gave both of them congratulations. As much as Fallon didn't resent being pregnant, just she wasn't sure being her age and pregnant was something to exactly celebrate. Fallon couldn't do anything remotely harmful to he baby now, she just couldn't it'd be wrong. She couldn't give up the baby either, but how could she take care of a baby? She wasn't alone and she knew that but it was still scary to her, she hadn't even told her aunt yet, she didn't know how, and she was afraid she'd get kicked out, and she'd be living on her own again, she was staring off a bit and hardly realized Storm was talking to her. She looked up at him and she forced her tears to stay away. "I haven't told my aunt yet.. I'm afraid to tell her Storm." She said softly looking at him still unable to say anything else for the moment.

Well, that was as good a response as any. Storm blinked at her for a second, then nodded. Thinking about Fallon's aunt, how she'd warned him... Then he thought of something, and it almost made him laugh. But laughing right then wasn't the smartest idea, so he just tried to hide the smile by looking away. When he had his face under control, Storm turned back to Fallon. "You know, you're probably not the one who should be afraid of her," he said, "She'll probably kill me, so there's that. Shouldn't be too bad, though, right?" Storm kind of half-smiled. He didn't think he'd made it worse, but now that he'd said it, he didn't think he'd done much good either.
