Waiting(Open)

Iris Herondale
Iris felt the wind pick up. Her scarf waved like a flag and her hair mimicked it. She was waiting outside her mother's factory with a basket. She had bought it for her mother's birthday. It wasn't much. But, to Iris it was a great deal. It had taken her months of selling goat milk to save up enough. Iris wet her lips and rocked back and forth on her feet. She couldn't wait to show her mother the basket. iris had even used an old, and slightly torn, hair ribbon to tie a bow on the handle. Iris smiled to herself. The wind nipped at Iris's cheeks which had now turned rosy pink, along with her nose. Iris could see her breath in the cold air. She leaned against the concrete wall behind her and waited.

Dove was skipping along district 8 but when she got to the factory, something had caught her eye. "Hello friend, that is a lovely basket that you have their. What is it for" dove had love simple yet nice designs. She gave off a smile and awaited an answer from the seemingly nice girl Waiting(Open) 659810

Iris noticed a girl walking by. Then the girl noticed Iris. Iris had seen the girl around the factories before, she just couldn't place when. Iris smiled at the girl. "It's for my mother. Today is her birthday." Iris explained. Then she remembered. The girl's name was Dove. She had definitely seen her before. It was on the tip of her tongue. Finally, Iris gave up. Her scarf made it's way free from her neck and the wind blew it across the sidewalk. She set down the basket and rushed after her scarf.

Dove smiled after hearing about this birthday. She watched as the scarf flew away. She emmited I short five note bird call when a robin swooped and picked up the scarf with both beak and talons. It flew in front of iris waiting for her to take it. Dove laughed at the sight of her sisters pet bird.

Iris's scar was getting further and further away, despite her efforts to capture it. But then, Dove sang a short song and a bird picked up Iris's scarf. The bird brought the scarf to Iris and Iris took it from the bird, smiling. Iris wrapped the scarf around her neck again. "How'd you do that?" She asked curiously.

A Peacekeeper walks through the Factory and pauses to do a double check on two kids. He debated if they were slacking off or on break, and decided the leave them for the next patrol to decide on.
