Rafe Terrn

Rafe's voices still insisted on attacking his allies, but he continued to resist. He realized the girl would find a way out soon, so he had to make sure he got a good last shot in. He stepped in to block her attack on Heather before swinging his other sword at her.

Rafe stepped in and blocked Marcelina's strike at Heather, which was somewhat of a shame, given that it had looked like it was about to be spot on.

with the careers all missing their attacks or launching blocked ones at her, however, she finally saw a glorious opening. If, through some divine prank of nature, she survived these games, she would come out of them with several new life lessons learned--one of the biggest of which would be remembered through the ages.
"Life is always too short. cherish every moment of it, because it could be your last."

it was good Tribute mentality, at least for Marcelina. These were the last moments of her life; she was going to enjoy them as best she could when confined to the bounds of a death tournament arena. Seeing this opening, she lunged at it and towards the door, taking the steps almost full flights at a time. she still had her fingers crossed that there would be a huge army of mutts that would come and kill the careers, but more likely, that would just happen to her instead. she tried not to think about that part, and made a break for it to get out of the tower, leaving the careers behind her. once again, she was grateful for her running skills.

---District 2---Female---18---

Lenina stepped almost delicately around her target, each movement was fluid and almost graceful as if she was dancing. Every swipe and whack has been choreographed and drilled into her. The sparring her father made her and Henry partake in definitely paid off at this point. Each move she made was almost rehearsed and practiced like an actor on a stage. Each step had its purpose, each breath had its meaning and the thoughts that propelled each action was not there. She was on auto pilot, she was alert just in case there was any change to the routine, some improvised move that came along but the dance remained the same. Each beat was unchanging which made it easy for Lenina, she wouldn't need to think much on her feet.

Lenina basically drowned out every word that came from her prey's mouth. Every desperate pleas that came from every single tribute's mouth thus far had been ignored. They had picked the wrong person to try and sway. So as the girl from District 5 spoke, Lenina heard not a single word from her mouth. Just the desperate rantings of a desperate girl She knew the girl would try to run again, but Lenina hoped that she could get in one more good hit before she ran off. Lenina tightened the grip on the handle of the axe preparing to bring it down in an attack but before she could launch her attack the girl ran.

Lenina cursed under her breath, Son of a.... She couldn't help but feel almost responsible for her getting away, she should have been able to stop her but she hadn't. She took the axe and threw it as hard as she could towards the chest that sat in the tower with them. The blade buried itself deep into the lid and she went over to reclaim her weapon. And although it wasn't a person's skull throwing the axe gave her some release from her emotions. "We might as well check the boy's body for supplies and maybe see if there is anything else we can use before we go after her." It was Lenina's first real demand during the games. She had followed Rafe's orders the entire time and now she decided she would speak up some and lead, it was hard trying to not butt heads with Rafe this whole time. It was starting to wear on Lenina's nerves

"Right," Heather agreed, stepping over to Aaron's body. "Better hurry, they'll take it away eventually, right?" A sort of calm had swept over her mind after Marcelina had gotten that really successful attack. It didn't bother her as much that Marcie had escaped, now. She knew the girl was going to die, and in a way, she had almost began to respect her for it. Barely, but it's there, she thought to herself. It didn't bother her. She was just analyzing the situation, which was odd, but then again, that didn't bother her either. Only in that a hunter gains respect for an animal the minute a weapon strikes the skin on top of the heart, because they know that there is an almost absolute certainty that the animal was going to die, and they knew it. That was it, really. As soon as the animal knew that it was going to die, it was as good as dead. Heather broke out of her philosophical thoughts and examined Aaron's carcass for supplies.

Rafe Terrn

Rafe heard the fourth voice again, it had been fairly silent, but the one time it had talked before, it had scared him half to death. 'You should put a smile back on that boy's face Rafe' it said, its creepy tone echoing in his mind, 'I'm sure he wants to have a nice red smile for his family when they send him home' it added, persistent. However, Rafe shivered a little bit to shake off the strange feeling the voice created. "Get what you want from the guy and lets go" he said, checking to make sure his pack was intact. The voice subsided with a single comment, 'You should try making people's deaths fun for them after they are gone'.

Lenina didn't want anything on the boy's body, she really didn't need anything anyways so it was pointless. She nudged the body a bit with her foot a few moments more out of boredom then anything else before she looked back to Rafe. He seemed to shudder a bit at something he must have been thinking. "What's your problem? You aren't going soft on me now are you?" She really didn't care to hear the answer or even the mental anguish that her ally might be going through. This wasn't a game where you could care about others, nor was that something that Lenina ever really got into. The whole having friends thing and sharing ideas and feelings was something that Lenina never felt the need to partake in. "Well I'm ready to go whenever. I say we should go find the girl from District 5 and just put her out of her misery already. I am sick of her mouth." She took the time to look around the tower. She wondered if there was anything good here, but there most likely wasn't. If there was anything it was already picked through by the tribute that was here before them, but it never hurt to try.

Heather examined Aaron's supplies, eventually taking the backpack and the waterbottle. She transferred her stuff nto the backpack except for the apples, which fit nicely into the quiver. After a thought, she put Aaron's apple in the quiver too, planning to throw them at someone in the near future. Possibly also to stuff one in Marcelina's mouth after she was dead like someone in the Capitol would a pig. Heather grinned at the thought, and made a note in her mind to do just that. She picked up the spear and smashed it on the ground, doing the same with the sword until both were at least a bit bent out of shape. She didn't want any other tributes to be able to use them too well, and they were more than she could carry. Heather put on the quiver and the backpack and shuffled along after the others. "Finding and killing her as brutally but efficiently as possible sounds good to me," Heather chirped, suddenly feeling rather chipper. She was in a good mood.

Rafe Terrn

Rafe nodded at Len and Heather, but the gruff voice was nagging at him now, 'Why aren't we killing these two, they will only get in the way later' it says, Rafe was fed up with them telling him to kill his allies so much, so he snapped back, "Because there are other people to kill first", in his head of course, but Rafe realized he'd come close to saying it aloud. That might become problematic at some point. He looked at Len, "I think going soft is the polar opposite of what I'm currently dealing with, so stop nagging about it" he says harshly, before heading in the direction Marcie had run, "Lets go kill the annoying chick".

Lenina looked to Rafe and shrugged. Whatever was going on in his head she didn't care to know about. This wasn't a therapy session after all. "Just making sure. I'm sure Astrid would be upset if I have to be the person to give her the bad news that you cracked under the pressure." She started moving out towards the exit, determined now to leave this tower and get on to finding their next prey. It was getting close to the part she was looking forward to, the part where the actual games began for her. This was all just a chore, killing the other tributes. But soon she would be able to face her allies and that was exhilarating for her. She could go back to being herself again, not the follower that circumstances made her be.

Heather listened silently to the conversation that Lenina and Rafe were having. There seemed to be some underlying factors. Heather tried to guess who Astrid was. Obviously someone back in Distirct 2... she decided. Probably either a sister, stepmom, best friend, or girlfriend. I'm guessing not a stepmom. Heather gave up and followed the others without speaking. Lenina seemed angry, and she wondered how long it would take before the other girl cracked and tried to kill everyone. It doesn't matter now, anyway. She told herself. We all want Marcelina dead much more than we want each-other dead. We only have to worry about that after she dies. Besides, if I don't win, I'd want one of them to win, at least so someone else doesn't. Who else is left? That kid from 6? Nah. She's way too young. She wouldn't make a good mentor, either... she'll probably die. At least that way a career will win. Heather smiled and trekked on, searching for Marcelina.
