Lochlan is loyal, kind, and firm in his beliefs. Rarely second-guessing himself, he works hard to provide for his family; supplementing his parents income by picking up odd jobs wherever he can. Though in the past, the circumstances of his brother's death have been a source of shame for him in the past, he now uses them as motivation to work harder to make something of his life. He's incredibly tenacious; once he starts a task, chances are he's going to see it through to the end.
Flaws:
The tenacity that makes Lochlan so strong is, potentially, his greatest downfall; there are situations in which he would literally die before giving something up, even if it were unnecessary. He has a tendency to be overconfident, and has placed his trust in the wrong people more than once. He doesn't handle losing those he loves well by any standards.Talents:Electrician- Lochlan's father has taught him the basics of constructing and maintaining electrical circuits, in preparation for a life spent work in 5's power plants.
Shorthand- Lochlan's mother has taught him several forms of shorthand, both handwritten and typed, in case he should enter a field of clerical work.
Skill with Whips (Self Taught)- Using the 8 foot long bullwhip his family uses to keep their goats in line, Lochlan has taught himself how to fight with a whip. He has been practicing for seven years, and is very proficient.
Skill with Clubs (Self Taught)- Using pipes, large wrenches, and other materials common to District 5, Lochlan has taught himself how to fight with clubs. He has been practicing for four years, and is quite proficient.

For the first time in a fortnight, calm settled over the Waters house. Elaine lay sleeping on the cot, Colby sitting quietly by his mother's side, making sure she was didn't stir. This left Ira standing in the living room holding a tiny bundle of cloth containing one of the most precious treasures in the whole wide world. Lochlan. It had been four years since Colby had been born, four years since Ira had had the honor of watching a person take their first breaths. "You're a blessing, little one."

"There just isn't enough money, Ira!" This dream was worse than the rest. Mom and Dad were fighting, and that was scarier than anything Lochlan's fever could conjure. The flu had hit harder than anticipated, and within a day, both Waters boys were cordoned off inside their house.
"Are you telling me to choose between my sons?"
"I'm telling you you have no choice!"
They choice had all but been made for them, though- Colby's asthma made recover unlikely, regardless of whether or not he received treatment. Lochlan awoke two days later, aching all over, with his parents at his bedside, and a hole in his life were his older brother had been.
{Age 17}
It was his decision, and that was that. Wherever things went from here, he'd chosen.
Still, the ravine was awful deep. He'd have a few seconds. Enough time to think, maybe smile, before the ground knocked the wind- and his life- out of him. Lochlan took another look at the ground, his stomach lurching. It was late, and he doubted anyone had seen him come out here. He could slip away forever, and that would be that.
It'd been six years since Colby died. Ira and Elaine had tried to explain to him that it wasn't his fault, that Colby hadn't stood a chance, but Lochlan wouldn't hear it. I'm alive because my brother is dead. That thought had hung like a noose around his neck ever since.
"There's no reason for you to do this. You know that."
Lochlan looked to his right and scowled. "You're dead, Colby. What would you know about this?"
"Not much more than you do, little bro." It was strange. Lochlan had always been the baby when Colby was alive, but now his brother appeared as he had just before his death- two years Lochlan's junior. "But I do know this- I was a goner, no matter what. There's nothing anyone could have done."
"Why can't I accept that?"
"Because you've never been the type to blame others, or let them blame themselves, or even accept that there might be no one to blame at all. You take responsibility onto yourself and you need to stop."
"Why are you only telling me this now?"
"I don't really know. Maybe this is the closest we've been since I passed. Maybe it took me this long to figure it out. Maybe I'm just your own damn mind telling you what you've always known but couldn't accept until you heard it from me. None of that matter right now, though. It's time for you to make your choice. Either you let go of life, or you let go of the misplaced guilt you've been harboring all these years. That, baby brother, is a choice you have to make on your own." And he was gone.
The next day found Lochlan changed- he greeted his parents with the broadest smile they'd seen from him in years. He was free.

| Galahad Lascius and Alethia Nostrum are not accepted.
Because, they have mutts for pets, and the capitol people aren't allowed to have mutts for pets. Mutts are solely a gamemaker's creation for games and must not be abusing that power for Capitol people to have mutt pets. Once that is changed then they shall be reviewed again and we'll see.
