District Six

Jett didn't mind being on the train, no matter how busy she thought it would be. The ride was surprisingly comfortable and smooth. Her room was simple, but much more luxurious than any home in District Six. Her bed was huge, and she was pretty sure it wasn't filled with springs, more like water. The sheets were silky, but warm at the same time. It made her want to sleep all day long.

After exploring her room, the tribute walked into the dining area. She wondered where her mentor, or Pyrite was. Jett decided it wouldn't be a good idea to go looking for them, so she sat down in one of the chairs. It was very plush, and she wondered if she was supposed to be in here. Then again, Jennifer didn't mind just relaxing before the capitol. It wasn't everyday you were treated like this.

Pyrite flopped into the cushy pillows atop his bed and lay there for a while. This far surpassed the uncomfortable beds back home, and he nearly fell asleep a few times. Eventually he dragged himself out of the room and had a wander around the rest of the train. He poked his head around one of the doors to see a selection of chairs that looked almost as comfortable as his bed. He walked in the room and caught the scent of delicious food drifting by him. He turned instantaneously and almost collapsed into heaping bowls of rice, couscous, beef, poultry and other wonderful delights. He had to use all of his restraint to stop himself cramming handfuls down his throat, and after a few minutes standing facing it, he managed to crowbar himself away. He noticed that all this time his District partner had been watching him. He waved sheepishly to her before skulking over to one of the chairs.

"You said we needed to talk. I'm listening."

Esmerelda Loste

Esmerelda strode through the Capitol train, admiring the fancy work every now and then. Even if she despised what the Capitol stood for she couldn't help but marvel at their work. Of course, the actual train had come from District 6, only the interior was Capitol-made. Esmerelda had always secretly hoped that this Train was better than all the other District's, considering District 6 was the designer of it. That probably wasn't true, but Esmerelda still liked to believe it.

Eventually she reached the dining car. She knew the tributes would be in here, they always were. All the glorious food and plush seating drew them to here. So predictable, Esmerelda thought, smirking slightly. When the automatic doors slid open, the two opucants of the car were revealed. Surprise, surprise; it was the two tributes. Jennifer and Pyrite or something. "Hello little duckies!" Esmerelda announced playfully as she seated herself in one of the chairs. "I'm Esmerelda, your mentor, but you should already know that." she added. Sometimes the tributes had no idea who she was. Sometimes they had a reason; she had won before they were born. Other times they just didn't know who she was.

Jett smiled, seeing Pyrite walk in. It was good to know that she wasn't the only person from her district who was most likely going to die in this. No offense to Pyrite of course, but the odds weren't in either of their favor. "Right, well -" she began, before being interrupted by the sound of someone. Jett recognized her, vaguely. Her eyes turned a darker shade of green as the woman called them duckies. Personally, Jett didn't fancy being a duck.

As Esmeralda introduced herself, Jett nodded slowly. "Er... right, I knew that. Esmeralda Loste." she said, as if from memory. The tribute shot Pyrite a "we'll talk later..." look. "Could you remind me how you won, exactly?" Jett asked, reclining in her chair. She didn't mean to offend her mentor, but wanted to know if there was a chance they would live.

Esmerelda smiled pleasantly as Jennifer seemed to remember her. Well, she knew her last name anyway. Esmerelda surveyed the tributes carefully. It looked like she had interrupted something. Probably some sort of alliance forming. Oh well. Mentor advice was far more important than that. They could make an alliance with each other at any time they wished.

Esmerelda let her smile fade slightly as Jennifer asked how she had won. So she didn't completely remember her. She had remembered more than most though. So Esmeroeda just shrugged. "Never trust anyone, even your allies." she said seriously. Esmerelda had had complete trust in her allies. But as soon as they were the last ones left they turned on her. She had barely got out alive. "And don't try an be one of those people who never kill because of morals or whatever. The ony way to get out of there is to kill, so don't be afraid to do it." she added. Not killing anyone only worked if you were small and could hide the whole time. It didn't look like these two were anywhere near small enough. Esmeralda's gaze flickered to Pyrite. He hasn't said a word since she came in.
