Prolog “The breath of hate”

Dark heavy drops of blood dripped down the side of my face. Heavy breathing echoing through my head the thumps of my beating heart. Wild fear and desperation in my eyes looking for a way out no way, trapped like the others were. This day had to come, or did it? Had it not been my fault to walk into this trap? My fault to come with the group? Yes. Mine entirely, for coming here. The halls decked with the skulls of Survivors, wanderers, failed projects. Like me I am number 1178 of the Dartuase III project. I was made to stop the up holding apocalyptic siege that reins upon us now. We were supposed to stop the Shadow Breeders..but nothing could. I stand here now surrounded by them. Without any fellow Light Holders, We have long since been killed or captured. The one who created us Sir Boulthon Swirvin was killed by Dusker the first Shadow Breeder.
He led the attack or invasion that swallowed the earth into eternal darkness. That's when we were awakened to save Earth. We weren't trained to fight only had one memory “you have a light that shines brighter than any other, That's why your my favorite Zesker you are the brightest one I have made” The last words Boulthon said to me in his dying fading breath. I had felt something I hadn't before they described as Anger or Hatred I knew neither of those meaning. But I felt a cold dark hunger to watch the Shadow Breeders burn I wanted to watch them burn before me and cry to me for help pleading and weeping as they melted and singed I would laugh at them. But no I shan't do it. I will stop them and bring the light that once shone across Earth and restore humanity. For we were made for this purpose. We will restore it I swear, I swear. But they are too strong NO we are stronger We are I promise...I hope I can only hope now.

Chapter I “The kill”

Burny stood watching the road with tense eyes. “what do you see?” I whisper into the burning afternoon air. Turning slightly he responded in a low rasp whisper “Rouge scavengers, Maybe in a Rouge Factourium but I don't see the symbols on them”. I turn back towards the group and linger on toes crouched to not be seen. “Pull them back a little further we see people but not sure if hostile be ready to run or fight if we need to” I spoke to Heather, one of the Light Holders like me and Burny. “Alright just don't draw attention to yourself OK?” she said in a joking tone. Crouching back to Burny's I see he had an arrow notched in his bow. “They are servants for the Shadow's” He said in a bitter voice like venom. I pull out my home made war hammer. Consistent of a sledge hammer enhanced with some welding iron parts. I could see the crude dark burning mark bared across their faces in the light of the fading sun. We jumped from the ledge of the drop off. With a shrieking cry they responded to the movement baring claws and fangs. Circling each other awaiting the next players move. Silence for the next five minutes of circling and baring fangs. Finally Burny let an arrow fly through the one on the right. With a hiss it fell curling into a ball. The one on the left came at me full fury. Flying and clawing at my face with controlled hatred and evil. “urgk.” Heaving my war hammer at the face. A satisfying crunch followed by a ringing pain through my arms of the shock. Walking up to the stilled bodies we kicked them making sure they were in mobilized. “Well that was exciting” Chuckled Burny ripping the arrow out of the servant. “Well I do admit it was exciting watching them go down” I say writing down two more scores that we turn in when we go back to the main base. “Alright let's gather up the group and head on up to the base.” Walking back up the ledge I look out over the fading sun setting below the ruins of the city. “where the hell did it go wrong?” I ask myself turning back to the direction. We headed half a mile until we came across a park were the group was resting. “ OK business has been done let's get the journey over and get the hell back to Fort FireStorm” With that the group cheered, getting their gear loaded and ready to move out. Marching down an old city street passing familiar banks and stores. Most were businesses left and forgotten to rot in this city of hell. Exhaling I step off to the side and adjust my pack. Another Light Holder Hannah or Hann's for short. Slowly walking next to me she smiled and crossed her arms. “I see you lost our bet we had.” Calmly breathing I reply in an sarcastic voice. “Well now you said a “Pack” not two, So that bet is invalid” Giving me a smirk she returns a reply “Well I say Bullshit, they were still the servants of the Shadow's” she said with a cold stare that then turned into a joking smile. “Fine you can give me half the bet but I’m still counting how many we'll see in the next run smart ass” Getting back into formation we started to see the tops of FireStorm. “Hey home sweet home guys” I shout to the group cheers jeered from the crowd and we started up a light jog. Not even half way there we could smell the smoke and see the bright glowing lights of fire burning FireStorm. “Oh my god..Everyone battle formation! Were under attack!” People gasping and yelling the horror was real and alive. Our only way back to America was being burned to the ground. Charging with full momentum we burst through the darkened metal gates. Fighting everywhere people falling fire's blazing shadows swarming the helpless. “Kill them all!” We shouted our war cry and started to bat and slay the demons. Dark shadows sweeping in from the sky were carrying away my group. “Someone man the damn torrents!” Yelling commands at the remaining fighters. Then the secondary gates burst open revealing a new squad of people. Not ours by the assortment of guns and swords. Some in chain mail others in armor or regular clothing. They shot a white burst into the night lighting up the sky and area around us. “ 'hasrei forusa NELIRADA' “ The man in front of the group spoke Light. I never knew the old ones survived now we can complete our training. But what business does he have here? Why hadn't he warded off the shadows before we came here? Approaching steadily the new group readied their weapons ready for a fight at any instant. The torrent gunners aimed their guns at them. I signaled them to hold fire until given permission. Finally the group reached 6 feet away from us, and their leader spoke in English. “So this is your base no?” He asked addressing me up front as if I was the leader. Burny and Hannah were already at my side with their special Light given weapons at their side. “Mine no, but home yes that is the more proper way to say it, I also see that you are a Light Holder.” Giving him a calm but superior look. “Ah so you know what I am but the question is what are you?” Asking as if he was a prophet of some sort. “What I am is a Light Holder number 1178 from the Dartuase III project, and you better watch yourself for we have been longed a terrible journey and come to home to Hell.” I say concluding what I had to say at the moment. We stood there weapons raised and no one moving but 2 in. only to breathe. Finally he spoke up “Are you going to help the wounded or let them die?” he said in a tune of cold hardness that was not to be questioned. We adjusted our sacks and jogged to help the ones that survived the horrid battle. We found many strung from the ledges of the ramparts of the wall blood trickling from their faces and wounds. Most just half torn into and others with crude bites and claw marks that killed them in a fast period of time. We found few that held out others had bleed out in our arms. Families, cousins, brothers and sisters, And loved ones most friends. The Shadows laid on the ground with no sound not even a beat of a heart. Blood covered walls and floors showed the gravity of the situation. “Damn they ripped us up like some freaking chew toys.” I spat at the realization of it we had been overrun and slaughtered at our own home and safety. “Z..Zesker...Come to me child come...You must lead...The people now..I cannot go on anymore this bite has taken my last life lad...URK....” The voice was from Danial solavin. The former leader and friend an old friend. He had seen me created and made my specialty. Tears streaked down my cheeks cooling my warm face. I sobbed until a hand gently came to my back. “He's dead..” is all I could manage. “Heather...Heather is dead Zesker..I'm sorry we lost more than her too Buster and Kyle were mauled in a corner, And Steven and Mary were strung up on the Southern wall” Hannah's smooth voice trickled out like a freight train ramming my heart into nothing. I opened my eyes vision red and a warm heat growing more intense as I thought about all my companions laying dead and mauled in their own home. Without thinking I turned around and started to levitate. How? Why is this happening? They will pay for everything I swear! They will burn under my fingers shrieking for mercy that will never come! A bright sphere enveloped me and was becoming brighter and brighter. A giant bolt of light exploded making my ears ring as it blew a building off it's foundation. Eyes glowing white clothes smeared with singe marks and black cuts. My vision cleared and everyone stared in awe at me. “what happened?” was the last thing before I blacked out into an abyss of darkness and warm comfort. Like a dream never to come true or happen. Just the thought of a shelter never to exist or ever be...Never be.

Chapter II “The uprising”

waking to the smell of fresh cooked meals was the biggest surprise I ever woke to. I remember the attack and the group, Also my giant spasm that ended with me blacking out. Sitting up I could feel the major pain in my head. Pounding like a drum being beat in a simple rhythm. “easy boy, your not gonna heal getting up like that” That voice was familiar ah yes the new groups leader. “who are you and what did you do wit Hannah and Burny?” I say groggily. “Zesker..I should have mentioned this to..Burny was taken by the shadows.” Hannah stood in the corner of the small metal room that was meant for the medical room. “Damn it everything is going to hell now isn't it?” I moaned from the intense pain throbbing in my head. “Well not exactly, you found your secret weapon last night didn't you?” Said the man “Also my name is Spark, because I shoot those light sparks in battle” Spark said in the quick moment he had. “Well Spark let's just see here can you save my friend that was taken? Guess not” I was cutting this guy no slack I didn't trust him even if he is a Light Holder even they can go against us and the order. “well now I can but I won't with an attitude like this your giving me” He said in a smart ass tone. I stood in front of him Hammer ready and said real clear. “You better have a good reason to be here or me and my men are going to have to escort your dead bodies out of here”. Stepping closer to me he spoke to my ear “I wouldn't want to do that Zesker I know your past” With that I threw him into the wall cracking it with dust and shards spewing around the room. Hannah disappeared from sight as the fight raged. Through the corridors we had fought and into the outside court yard were a mass of people had gathered. Most from the lunch room others from sleeping in their rooms were aroused in mid dream. Spark battered and bleeding stalked out of the doors he had thrown me through. I had a gash above my eyebrow and bruises everywhere small cuts and scratches here and there. Besides that I wasn't going to give up easy. “Come on boy, I am stronger and smarter than you, how can you possibly think to beat me?” Mocking my very presence like I was a paper bag in a desert. “You don't know anything” I say spatting blood into the dirt. Heaving my hammer I make a blow to his chest. A sharp cracking and popping noise was heard. He laid there motionless then twitched and sat up. His chest caved in and crooked bone torn out of his shirt. “well guess you didn't know I can't be killed?” He said as his chest popped and crackled back into place. “My turn.” Slamming his palms into my chest he throws me backwards into a tree. Stars and black dots came in and out of my vision. Gasping for breathe I get up and grab my hammer. “You may not die but I..do..not..give..UP” throwing my weight into him he stumbles and stutters his response into a startled cry. Getting up he brushes off the dirt and soot on him. “Well that's enough playing for now, I think it's about time I told you why I am here Joshua” He said staring into my eyes. “What” I say stunned and confused about everything happening right now at this moment him, me everything.
We had talked for many hours. “your mother Janella she wanted you to be called Joshua but then you died in her arms at birth, Dr. took you and had you re-animated and injected the serum into you while you slept in the incubator.” He finished with a sad look. “my mom did she survive?” I asked in bewilderment. “No she died trying to save you as the first wave of attack happened..” He stopped with a sudden halt. “You are my son Joshua I have searched for many years to find a trace that you lived.” he said with many sparkles in his eyes. Stunned I rested my head against the cracked wall I had thrown him into. “No possible way Dr. said I was made by DNA cells extracted from a child when they were born” I reply dazed in the midst of it all. “Get some rest we'll talk tomorrow Joshua” With that he left me to slumber on those thoughts. “good night father” was all.
The morning horn blew through the silence like a katana cutting through butter. Opening sore eyes I focused on the ceiling for a bit. Then rolled over and felt the ground meet my feet. Cold shock swept through my legs as I yawned to greet the morning. Walking into the hall I noticed that everyone was already at breakfast. “Well I won't be getting warm meat today” I say groaning as my body ached from the previous days that had passed. Slowly making my way down the hall to the scent of food. Passing through the heavy iron doors into the Lunch room where the smell overwhelmed my nose to were my stomach growled like an unfed lion. I entered the line awaiting some food to satisfy my unfed hunger. Surprised by many sights I could not describe. Fresh meat bread and other many foods we have never seen or smelled before. Only being used to stuff that we could scavenge and spare in the nearby buildings that we have cleared out many months ago. “Damn I have never smelled such things in my life” I exclaimed drooling over the food. Fresh..so fresh I could just.. “Ah great to see your awake what would you like son?” The voice rang in my ears like like many birds singing a symphony in a melody of sweetness. “Hey Spark I didn't know half of these items were ever food never less smelled so intoxicatingly great!” I exclaimed looking into his dark brown carmal eyes. I swore they twinkled as I looked into them. “Why don't you take a plate and take a seat i'll be over there in a minute after I make sure the cooks don't collapse from these portions of the meal” He said chuckling side glancing at a couple of cooks with wobbly legs and sweat covered faces. Taking the tray nimbly I walked to my seat drooling over the texture and warm smell swarming my nostrils. Sitting I take a fork and start shoveling in bucket loads of heavenly food into my monster of a mouth. Moments later another figure sat down across from me. Peering up I saw strands of hair dangling from the face. “Heouf Hannof” I choked as I tried to greet Hannah. Laughing she replies with high spirits. “Hello to you to Zesker, Are you trying to choke yourself with this blessing of a meal?” I could tell she was joking by the glint of humor in her eyes. Spark sat next to me in the commotion “I see that you are enjoying the meal” Slapping my back lightly as a father would. “It's amazing Dad how did you cook this” Hannah winced as I said 'Dad'. Forgotten she wasn't there for the talk I explained what Spark told me. “So yea basicly you have a Dad to”
There was a long pause during this, most of the people had left already to head to stations and keep this base under tight Lock-Down in case another attack happened at any moment. After awhile of talking Spark left to arrange a scouting party to find the group that attacked us. “So your saying that in New America I have a Mom and Dad and possibly a living family?” Hannah said in a raspy hushed tone. “Well possibly remember the battles that happened in the invasion, many suburbs and community’s attacked and mostly all destroyed.” I said cursing myself for putting her in doubt. “but also there were many that survived and they might have survived so there is a big chance” I added quickly making sure I didn't hurt my chances with her. Staring into her eyes I waited. Moments passed watching her breathing heavily her chest dropping slowly, Finally she replied with a different tone more happy “Well besides that we have a lead on the Shadows so far” when those words tumbled into my ears my eyes widened and I said instantly “Where? Where are they what area have they held up?” With a fast response she was surprised. “easy Zesk were not one hundred percent sure yet” With that smashing my hopes I slid back down sighing not knowing what Burny was up to. With feeling that they rose and headed for the courtyard to see how the search party was coming. Passing the few that were left they waved and said hello before leaving. The doors making a small creaking noise as they trotted off to the group.

Waking with a start Burny looked around wild eyed wondering were he was. Sitting up and feeling the aches in his back and chest he yelped a small cry of pain. Seeing that no light was available he shuffled to the nearest wall. Not being able to see or smell anything. Shuffling his way across the wall he made it to what seemed liked a door. Feeling and fumbling for the handle he found it old and rusted, turning it a horrid screeching of metal was wailing out from the handle. Cursing he stopped when the opening was just big enough for him. Squeezing through and pushing the door open a little more as he went through more wailing sounds echoed down the hall. Barely able to see a faint light coming farther down the hall through a door. With little light he could see that this was a hotel an old one too. Just marble floors with a few visible collums. Beyond that he could not make out the rest his eyes not focusing correctly. Barely at a jog he pushed the door open and reveled the outside world. Behind him many dark figures formed and wailed horrible screeches. The warm breeze caught his face and the warmth of the light. He kicked off the front steps and sprinted away running as fast as he could. Never looking back for he knew that they would burn in the sun.
“Huff...Huff..This is the worst this to happen,I don't even know were the hell I am!” Burny exclaimed and out of breathe. Walking through a deserted street he peers into the windows to see if any supplies were left in them. Nothing, Everything picked clean they were in the old part of the area no one came here anymore because they picked it clean long ago. Outraged he bellowed into the blowing wind carrying it as far as it would. Discouraged he sat on a parking block thinking about Zesker and the others wondering what happened to them. “Lets hope I last the night” He said with a huff.
“OK so they were last spotted heading to the East of Old Burning Street, That means we will have to check the big hotels and businesses over there” Spark stated pointing at an old road map. “The smart bastards have picked that area because it is never roamed by us, The 'Police' as many call us” He added standing straight and scratched his peach fuzz covered face. Me and Hannah walked beside and looked at the marked spot. “if there were that many that attacked they might have stayed at the Old Mills Hotel, It is one of the biggest Hotels here but I am not one hundred percent sure about it but it is a big possibility” I chimed in with a burning sensation to find the location that they hid. “How do you know that Zesk? Only the Military and other fighting forces cleared and scavenged that area” He said in a confused shocked tone with eyes that held sad tales that were holding him down in the abyss of darkness. “The Doctor sent us in there with them, He thought we could save the world and stop the invasion. But that went wrong when we were ambushed in that same Hotel. 37th floor there were over one hundred of them crawling from the rooms. Many people crawled out too, us not knowing that they were mindless servants of the shadows we tried to rescue them but..They attacked us biting and clawing. Most of our ranks fell at that point pulling back into the elevator we managed to shut the door but they cut the cable to it...The rest I can't recall except voices and screams of pain.” I ended faltering to not describe the carnage after wards and the body count of the mistake.
Spark just looked into the sky then replied sadden by the story of short work. “That's why they say 37th is the killer” After that he walked off leaving the group to prepare for departure in the morning.
Zesker's room was familiar but was always clean, never staying for a long time was a habit. Always on the move was how he chose to live his life. Never to rest completely until the world is cleaned of evil shadows that prey you away from loved ones and family. The group was not just called the Light Holders they were most known as Shadow Jumpers. He packed his light weight sword and custom dagger. But his most favored weapon besides his hammer...Bone Slicer his war ax. Gearing into custom made S.W.A.T.T. Body armor that was 20% more durable. Helmets with built in night vision and Shadow Rays.
They made sure that like humans have Heat readings you could see Shadow readings instead. They give off powerful darkness molecules that can stick in the air for up to thirty minutes. Like Heat vision you see it the same red for super active and blue for normal. After helmet acquired he stepped into the hall and strutted to the Lunch room doors. “Morning, those that are heading out with the group please hurry up eating and head out to the black gates please” He said in a regular voice. When he finished speaking he strolled over to the black gates. A few moments later a large group formed with armor and weapons in hand. Counting heads there were 47 in all coming. “Alright when we mention our group we are the '47th Mass' Understand?” I ask reading my ax. Spark opened the gates and we shuffled out revealing light and the wasted buildings around us. Most were large businesses but now were the ruins of this lost city. “Alright we are not stopping until we reach Bullet Storm haven.” Was the last thing I said before we started our long trek towards the Breeders. Not four miles away we ran in to trouble. “Servants, when will they ever stop trying to kill us?” Someone said in the crowd. Making a wall of bodies the front row had the spear men, the others were melee and the back of the group were archers at the ready. “Archers READY!......FIRE!” Yelled the Archer captain. We had only seen but ten...But out of the darkness crept many more clawing the ground and grasping the sides of buildings. Others lurking in the dark stumble out and train their eyes on us. “Damn where did they from?!” Said a burly man in the front line, his name was Double-Dog, for he could rap like no one else could. The darkness seemed to grow arms and grasp at us. One man fell out of flank and disappeared into the darkness with screams and in the end a horrifying gleeful shriek from the servants as they feasted on them.
Thrashing and prodding we fought our way through the demons. Hacking and slashing they started coming from the sewer at one point. We had to drop a few home made fire bombs down the hole, we called them Fire Splitters. They spewed fire and shrapnel through the air when it impacted something solid. An hour passed as we slashed down the demons, clawing their way into our armor some fell and were dragged into the grasping darkness. “God Damn we need to thrust our asses out of here if you want us to be in one piece.” Gasped Double-Dog. He had gotten a gash in the chest as one of the Servants broke into the lines a while back. “I know but there's too many out here for me to do anything useful except fight!” I shouted back ducking as one flew at me claws flailing wildly and fangs barred and eyes in a wild panic. “Shit!” was all I managed as it bit my arm and ripped off armor and some flesh as I kicked it off and slammed my Ax into it, Cutting through bone and tendons. Stumbling into the middle of the group I wrapped some linen around the open wound. Putting pressure on it and tying it off to secure that it wouldn't come off while I swung my Ax. My vision was swerving in and out of focus. I could feel a cold hand grasping me, squeezing tighter tighter and tighter until I could barely choke a gasp of air into my lungs. Then a dark figure arose out of the ground, covered in black wisps of shadow made from the purist of darkness. Standing tall he loomed over me covered in a black cloak, hissing spilling out of the shadows. It reached out towards me with out stretched clawed hands ready to take hold and not let go. “You..Yes you are the one that we have been looking for..The bright one yes..Your scent is strong...You are the one” It spoke with a dark and vile tone. Speaking as if a claw drug itself down a chalk board. I couldn't move I was stuck in the hands of darkness. The bite that's why I see this when they bit me I can see Dusker, he is what stood before me holding out his hand to take me. But he can't have me yet.
I opened my mouth and yelled. Instead of a sound a bright light burst around me engulfing my body and everyone else. The servants were obliterated by the light, it was too bright for their dark souls.
The grasp was released and I could breathe, Dusker shrieked and hissed spitting darkness from under his cloak, and shriveled into the dark shadows that were near. Cheers erupted from the group but faded quickly as we saw we lost many. “Man why can't we have a normal day for once?” He said walking over to a fallen soul and turning the body over to examine who it was. Trudging over to his side I saw who it was. “How many more must we lose just to find a friend?” I asked him. He replied in a sad depressed tone “I don't know Zesk I do not know, maybe a hundred more maybe one you know..this is what we called 'Life' it sucks doesn't it.”. It didn't suck it hurt, Life felt like a cold bitter taste stuck in your mouth that burns and aches the longer it stays, then when you get it off it becomes a sore and hurts every time you think of it. Shaking my head I walked away from the body. Many others were picking up bodies and removing their gear. We managed to find a store with empty shelves that we formed into coffins. The surrounding buildings made the street seem dark and forbidden, like everything else in this world.
We caught the inside of the coffins on fire and said silent prayers to the fallen. We set up guard duties during the night, kept a light fire going and many did not care to sleep in the night. Most were up talking by the fire others just collecting the last of their sanity that they could spare. The night sky was lit with many stars peaceful was the night was, the moon shone bright and a calm wind blew with a scent of spring on the way. Ironic as most would say a nice evening for when blood was shed and loved ones died in pain and agony. I closed my eyes breathing in a deep breathe of fresh air and slipping into a twisted nightmare of darkness fighting Light and many falling and burning by the will of the darkness. Many in pain and torture it was a dark dream but yet so real.

Chapter III “The Rouges”

Burny shuffled along the road, tired and hungry, having not eaten anything since two days ago he had the beginning of famine.
Something had caught his eye in a store, something moving not a shadow but a person. It resembled tattered clothes and beat shoes, a dirty face and roughened hands appeared from the window. The shirt held the symbol of the Rouges. “Not my day now is it” He mumbled under his breathe. Slowly he backed away and looked around him, many more had appeared around him. All armed with an assortment of weapons and clothes. Walking in a circle he counted the number of them, too many just too many. “Well well well, what do we have here? Seems someone left their cage” Cooed a masked figure. He walked out of an old pharmacy, with a gas mask covering his face. Wheezing followed the comment, he wore an old leather jacket with an eagle symbol on the left shoulder. Burny replied straightening up and looking the figure in the dark mask. “I am no Pig you fool, touch me and your hand there will be in many pieces”.
Many minutes passed as they all stood in a circle surrounding Burny, he had taken out his knife he concealed in his lower thigh area with a leather strap holding it in a firm position. A breeze of dust flew by with a slew of abandoned paper flying slowly and helplessly. A man in the far corner of Burny's left eye lost his balance and fell into a darkened hole. Screaming followed with the sound of scraping claws and shrieks. “Shit bro there here, what do we do Scar?” blubbered a man off to the right of Scar the man with the mask. “Stop blubbering and throw light flashes into the hole you idiot, then we take this lad and show him not to escape the pig den” wheezed Scar taking what looked to be a homemade pipe bomb that had a flash bang attached to it. But before he could throw it a shadowy claw grasped the edge of the hole and they pulled up a hideous face that attached to a disoriented body. “Mother of christ, what the hell is that thing!” Exclaimed a man that was next to the hole. The creature turned its neck to him and out stretched its claw and dug them into his face. Blood erupting from him wailing cry's followed him being pulled into the hole. Figures started to erupt from the shadows and grab any one who was close, pulling them by their legs and torsos. The figures lurked in the shadows as the remaining group stayed in the light, but a cloud was about to pass under the sun and put the group in darkness. “Well lad if you can get us out of this situation we'll let you leave or join us, that's if you can save us lad” said Scar looking the figures up and down. “that won't be hard wheezer, I've fought this kind before. They are simply the servants of the Shadows or Shadow Breeders” Burny said with a smirk on his face turning his knife over in his hands, letting the reflection of the sun hit one of the servants. It hissed and thrashed trying to hide from the light. “This is strange, usually they can come out into the sun but not these...I must keep an eye on this” he said thinking to himself. The cloud started to pass, a dark shadow crept towards the group like a lingering death that everyone hated.
Stalking closer the servants shuffled little by little as the shadow came forward, snarling and barring fangs they advanced drooling and clawing. “Anytime now laddie” hissed Scar. “when they charge attack them and run into the middle of that intersection there, after that wait for me for further details” Burny said in a calm tone. Finally the shadow reached them and they advanced, going head on into the snarling creatures formation of scattered masses. Burny slicing the air and cutting into flesh and bone, tearing away tendon spewing blood into the air. A girl went down with three servants on her. Tearing away at her back and ripping her head off bringing the spinal cord out with it. Sprinting onward Burny made it to the intersection feeling the warm sun light on his skin. Scar came up next to him bleeding from a nasty cut on his lower jaw. Turning back he saw the last person going down, one large dark figure towering over him. The man raised a sawed off double barrel shot gun to his stomach. His hand shaking and dripping with blood. Then a white flash and a bang followed it, and the man was dragged away into the darkness to be torn from limb to limb. The figures faded away in the darkness like wisps of smoke getting sucked away through a vent. “So what now laddie, you want to get more people killed?” Scar said with a snarl. “Well it was either that or we all died, what would you have preferred?” Burny shot back with a shard of fire in the glint of his eye. “I would have preferred a freaking light person to have been in that situation laddie, that's what I prefer” He said glaring into the sky as if he was blaming what some people called “God”. “Well you're in luck prick, I am a Light Person. But we like to be called 'Shadow Jumpers'.” He said with a huff then stared at Scar waiting for a reply.
