"Please welcome to the stage Jacob Barker, tribute from District 7!" Caesar announces, and the audience breaks into cheers.

I walk on to the stage and smile at the audience for a second. My lumberjack outfit was comfortable, and gave a sense of home. It was nice to have. "Hi Caesar!" I say kindly after sitting down.

Caesar waved at the crowd to quiet them, then leaned forward in his chair, placing his chin in his palm. "So, Jacob, how do you feel about your training score? Do you think your seven was a good score?"

I shrug, "Just a score, I guess". I smiled, "Doesn't matter too much, but anyways, it matches my district number, so maybe its an omen of good luck for me" I say, grinning at the crowd.

Caesar nods, trying to get Jacob to open up a little more. "Would you like to share anything with us about District 7? Do you miss your family? Your district?"

I lose the smile to dark thoughts. "Yeah, I miss my family a lot" I say, sighing, "I loved district 7, there were so many places to explore, I still haven't found most of them"

Caesar makes a sympathetic face. "I've heard it's a beautiful district. Now, Jacob, are you going to be keeping anyone especially close to your heart while you're in the arena? Family member? Friend? Girlfriend?" This causes some of the audience members to lean forward in their seats.

I laugh, "Just my dad, really. He taught me almost everything I know"

"I'm sure he's very proud of you," Caesar agreed. "Well, how about we turn to the arena? How do you feel, going into the Games? What's your mentality?"

I thought about it for a moment, "I think its mainly to stay alive and keep at least some of the values I learnt in my time"

"Oh?" he asked. "And what values do you speak of?"

"You really have to ask?" I say, astonished, "Maybe not betraying people, not becoming a vicious cold blooded killer, those are both good bases"

"Hmm," Caesar pondered. "I see your angle. Are you considering alliances? And this may be, for you, a silly question," Caesar continues, "But are you in these games to win?"

"That's the spirit," Caesar replied. "Can you tell us more about yourself?"

"Uh, what do you want to know? I worked in the forests finding good trees for the others to cut down and marking them, and spotting dangers so they can be avoided"

Caesar nodded. "Sounds interesting, but that's really not what I meant. I mean," he waved his hands in the air, trying to find the right words, "What do people think when they hear your name?"

"Right now they think..." I say, pausing, "Poor kid" I mutter sadly, "They probably think I don't have a chance, and they may be right, I could be dead soon because of the games, if there were no games, I'd be living my regular life and not have to worry"

"No, I disagree," Caesar replied. "I think we all believe in you without a doubt, because you believe in yourself. And if you give it your best, that's what matters, right? What do you say?" He asked the crowd, and in response they screamed in agreement.

"Exactly," Caesar replied. "I'm afraid our time is up, Jacob. Anything else you would like to say to District 7, or to all of Panem? We're listening."

"Just, don't count me out, I have more skills than people expect from someone like me!" I shout, before getting up and walking off the stage with a handshake for Caesar and a wave to the crowd.
