Tristan sits on a velvet couch in the middle of the living room, fiddling with a rubberband ball the size of a fist. He wanted to talk strategy with Jacob.

He looks up to see Jacob. "To talk strategy. What's your plan on conquering the Games?"

I smile, "Temporary alliance with District 6, one knows medical stuff and one is an okay fighter". I think of the plan at hand, "After the tribute count is a bit lower, clear out and solo it, moving quick, hiding, and assassinating"

"Alright...pretty good. But not good enough to win." Tristan turns to face Jacob. "You need to become stealthy, and learn how to kill from afar. You'd be unstoppable if you can shoot from 50 ft. without a scope."

I laugh, axes dont have scopes, but I know what he means. "Thats sorta the plan, I can be stealthy, and I know how to throw axes. I'm not nearly stupid enough to run up behind some mammoth tribute in hopes of putting an axe into him"

I laugh. "Duh. But, yeah, that's pretty good." He grins. "Now, about your outfit..."

I groan, "Is it going to be something ridiculous?" I ask, thinking about how last year both tributes had forest green formalwear that looked terrible.

He smiles and shakes his head. His hair flops around, covering his eyes. "Naw, I'm thinking this." Tristan takes a picture out of his pocket, and passes it to Jacob. "Its a lumberjack outfit. Like this, but less cartoony. You'd still have the axe, and you'd wear work boots also."

I shrugged, "Its better than being a tree, and those shifts are nice" I say. I examine the picture further, "I could do without the hat and straps, we don't actually use those, you do remember right?" I say, grinning, wondering if this was thought of by him or the stylists.

He grins. "I forgot. We're not using those, but yeah, I know you don't wear them. When I was in the Games, I was a giant log. No lie." He looks around. "Now lets prep for your interview."

I smile, this guy was really trying to help me. He still had a sense of humor, but he knew about the games. "Ok, lets get to it"

"Pretend I'm Ceasar, and we're at the real interview." Tristan grins. "So, Jacob, what do you think the arena will be like this year?"

I try to imagine Ceasar as he was last year, which was scare to picture in my mind, but it helped, "I honestly don't have a clue, I've been thinking more about surviving than what I'd be surviving in so far, I'll probably adjust myself once I find out what it is" I say, acting confident and calm.

Tristan nods. "But, since we all know trees are your specialty, what if its a wasteland? No trees?"

I laugh, "Theres likely trees, they wouldn't want us to all freeze to death from lack of firewood, right?". I pause for effect, "Anyways, what use would a barren wasteland be? Theres no excitement in the terrain, we would all just die right away"

"On a whole it looks like its going to be tough, you never wan't to underestimate anyone, and no one really seems to be weak, even the districts we usually see bringing in bad tributes look like they could make a run this year"

I laugh, "I make sure to not get that close to any of my adversaries" I say, "As it happens, I have not even spoken to my fellow tribute since the reaping, shes kept quite the low profile"

"'Kay. One sec." I run into a closet and bring out the outfit. It was simple: a red and black checked flannel, jeans that were a bit baggy, and a holder for Jacob's axe that slung over his back. "Whatcha think?"
