The District 10 escort steps up on stage and smiles with blindingly white teeth. She starts speaking in a high pitched voice, "Welcome everyone to the Reapings! Today one young man and woman will be chosen to participate in the 33rd Annual Hunger Games!" She steps up to the big bowls containing the names of every child in the district, from 12 to 18. 'Get yer ass out here Derald, Reapings ain't gonna wait for no one!' Tess hollered to the barn, a minute more and she was gonna drag him out herself. Derald was just lazing around in the barn before the Reapings, not particularly excited to go off. "Yeah yeah, I heard ya the first time," Derald rolled his eyes pulling on his little lucky charm of sorts, that old hat of his. He looked back to the barn, minds playing tricks on him, making think about what if he really didn't come back. "See ya'll later, hopefully," Derald chuckled to the lazing animals around before he broke to a jog as Tess began to leave him behind. "Hey how could you just leave yer poor lil' cousin back there?" Derald joked as he caught up to his cousin quickly. 'Ain't nobody got time for ya, that's why,' Tess grinned, head resting backwards on her folded arms behind while the two of them strolled over, following the mass of teens and kids. For the rest of the time, they stayed silent. As nonchalant as things seemed, The Hafer cousins still had shit to think about, maybe the last time they ever could. Derald got separated from his cousin in the sea of people even before registration but he saw a few other familiar faces along the way, kinda at least proved that he had been going outside a little more. He quickly waved to the people he recognised and it somehow made it easier to cope with for the moment. Derald fiddles with his hat, takin' it off, puttin' it back on, twirlin' it around, he sure was glad he brought it out now. When things settled down, as usual they started with the ladies. He glanced to Tess and almost choked on a laughter, just at the thought of Tess ever bein' a lady.

She dug her hand into the bowl and pulled out the female tribute's name, "Kera Olsdaughter" She called out and then she dug into the male's bowl. "Brock Tanner"
