Love is Mysterious

"Thanks. You know, I don't know why I didn't fall for you earlier?" I knew he fancied me for years now. Why did I only see it yesterday?

"No problem. And its probably because you don't think I'm really that all attractive." I say to her, I was being completely honest that there were hotter people on this world than me. She would obviously find someone. "But, if you want a true answer, I'm shy and didn't really have the courage to come up to you and say it to your face."

"That's probably because I stupidly didn't give you a chance to tell me. But I still knew." It was true. I was always with people, and if he was going to ask me, it was goin to be when I was alone. "Oh and also, you're the most attractive guy I know."

I look at her with a confused look on my face. "Haylee, no I'm not. And how could you know? I didn't tell you anything about myself, all I did was freak out whenever I spoke to you." I say with a strange look on my face. I can't believe she actually knew. And that she thought I was attractive.

"I know because... I was the same around you as you were with me. I never spoke to you because I thought that I would mess it up. And I was always with others. I would have had to speak to you when it was just us two. The fact is, I did have a crush on you. Even when I was dating, I couldn't stop thinking about you. Sorry that it took so long to admit that." I had felt that way since I was 10. I think he was crushing on me for longer, but at least he knows about my crush on him now.

''Haylee, now you're just trying to make me feel better." I say with a serious look on my face, and then I smile. I doubt she did anything that she just say, probably trying to make me feel better. "You don't need to do that, Haylee. I was the only person to like you because, well, I don't know. I just know that you didn't like me as much as I liked you. I never spoke to you once since yesterday. You've had a million boyfriends since you were ten. I've had none until you." I say to her, I felt serious about what I said.

I know it was hard to believe me. But I had to tell him that I wasn't lying. "Torrence, I would never lie to you. I know my dating experience has been chaotic, but I wish it hadn't. I wished that I talked to you when I was 10 and just asked you out. I shouldn't have just kept it quiet." I was starting to get upset now. I had him now, but I could have saved myself from 4 years of sadness and pain.

"It was probably just because when we were ten, we just had crushes. We didn't know what love really is. I say, it was that moment that I felt we could kiss. But I had just told her that we shouldn't kiss every five seconds. I didn't want to say one thing and do another. "You feel like its the perfect time to kiss, don't you, because I don't know if you feel weird about it. I know I just told you we shouldn't kiss all the time but I feel like this would be the perfect time. After all, its been much long than five seconds."

"Do whatever feels right. You're the one who wanted the kissing to not be as constant. If you want to kiss me, just do it." I say as I lean forward to kiss him.

"Well, okay." I say to her and kiss her, just for a second. I wouldn't do it much longer, that's when girls think you're weird and never want to date you again. At least, that's what Carter said. But what does he know, he never even had a girlfriend. He was just probably trying to make me not get a girlfriend. However, my father always said to trust your elders.

"So, did you like that?" I ask, smiling. The kiss was just what I needed. A sign of love, passion and trust. Torri was going to be the best boyfriend I could possibly have.

"How about we go for a walk, and here is the answer." I say and smile, hugging her. I end the hug and stand up. I start to walk and tell her something. "Don't get beaten in a race against the slowest guy known to man kind!" I laugh and look back at her, and motion her to come over to me. I smile with all my strength. Finally, I could prove I was better at my brothers at something. I make a sign on relief on my forehead and stand there, waiting for her to come over to where I was on the District 5 streets.

I stand up and I know immediately what he wants me to do. I immediately run towards him. "What about a game of tag?" I ask. This odd probably the most real smile I have had on my face.

"Okay, but I'll be it first, I guess, but I'm not the guy that likes to play tag.", I say and tap her shoulder. "How's your day been so far? Mines been good, just before you ask." I say, I couldn't help but smile.

"Brilliant. Best day of my life so far." I say, smiling. I then tap him on the shoulder lightly and get ready to run.

"Haylee, this tired me out already. How about we take a, um, a break? Yeah, a break sounds good right about now. And tag is for little kids, and we are not little kids anymore!" I say with a little fake accent. I got tired easily while running, but just standing and thinking, now that I can never lose.

"What should we do?" I ask to break the silence. Torri would have a better idea of what 14 year olds should do. I was obviously making bad choices, and I didn't want to ruin this relationship I had with him.

"I don't really care. We can do pretty much whatever. I say and look up at her. She was adorable, but I wasn't going to tell her, since she'd probably deny it. "We could read a book? Or if you don't want to that's fine." I say, my words getting quieter every word.

"Sure, I should have some books in the house." I say as I lead him to my house. I wonder if my siblings are up yet?

"Sounds good Haylee. You don't need to like all the things I like, I mean, if you don't like books. I can see why, their boring." I say and smile.

I smile back. "Books aren't boring at all. They can teleport you to a whole new world. A better world. A place where there peace and no killing for entertainment. Everyone is treated the same, and it makes you fall in love. I love books." I say to him. I kiss him on the forehead before leading him into the house.

"Nah, I just do it to pass the time." I say and laugh. It was nice hanging out with her, she didn't understand why I like reading though, the great time passer ever.
