Derald ran ahead of Xavy, the trees lessen to couple here and there and before them was a mountain way taller than the trees. He stared in awe, looking high above that his neck almost hurt. He took a few steps back and whistled a low tune. He turned back to the dark forest, cringing at the thought of the tremors following them all the way up the mountain. While waiting for Xavy, he scanned the area and spotted the trail that continued on up, a little more striking than back in the forest. Mountains meant water. ..Right? He heard Xavy come up from behind and Derald grinned to the trail, "Only way is up, ain't it?" He walked up to the start of the mountain trail, going onto it slowly as he made sure Xavy was right behind him.

I'm more focused on getting out of the forest than on conversation, so it falls silent again. Then we're running and I fall a bit behind. I'm not slow, just really off balance. Yet another reason to hate the kid from Four. When I catch up, I take a second to look around. Significantly less trees. And a definite trail. I blink at the mountainside. How'd we miss that thing? It's twice as big as anything around Twelve.

"Naturally," I say. I wince at the thought of hiking though. It'll be tough with only one good arm for balance. Just don't fall down, right? I follow Derald up the trail. Thankfully he's going slow now.

The trail around them is surrounded by some bushes and a few plants, but as the look up the trail they can see that it begins to thin out slightly the higher up they go.

Derald stretched his arms behind him as he continued to the hike. from the bottom it seemed like the tallest freaking thing ever. But somehow was you slowly go up, it doesn't seem to bad. Maybe it's just him. Derald observed the plants and bushes, slightly different than the ones down by the forest below; maybe there were some good food to get out of this. But the last mutt experience kept him at a distance from bushes for quite a while. He looked ahead, seeing the vegetation thin out just a shade more. It was weird how the mountain's vegetation was thinning but what does a country boy like him know? "A lil' bit of sunshine wouldn't hurt," Derald added on as he shrugged, turning back to see if Xavy needed any help, 'How's that arm holdin' up for ya?"

"It's not," I grumble, but push on anyway. I can make it up without the arm anyway. Glancing around, I notice the last bits of plants vanishing around us. Not to mention we're avoiding the bushes anyway. Don't think about why. "This better be worth it." Personally, I hate mountains. Especially this one, being so steep and cruel to me.

The trail is winding a bit as it continues upwards, the cold air hitting against their face a little as a breeze comes past them. They see what appears to be the top of the trail and along with that they begin to hear noise.

Derald laughed, "Then it wouldn't even be hanging there." He continued on, kicking aside any loose rocks or sticks on the trail just in case Xavy takes a trip tumbling down. He was making his merry way up, shrugging in response to Xavy when he heard something form the distance. The sunlight was beaming brighter than ever and it felt like ages since they saw legit light. or even see the sun. It could've been the wind, as their faces were exposed from the vegetation and the wind attacked them. He paused and held a hand up. Derald turned to Xavy and put a finger on his lips, slowly crouching down as he took small silent steps forward. It seemed like there was so much vegetation in abundance before and now it was what he was desperate for to hide behind. He wasn't too sure what the noise was, but it was something new, something that stuck out from the normal leaves blowing in the wind or the occasion snap of the twigs that they made. So he cautiously went up, straining his ears to listen better, glancing back to Xavy.

I blink in the strengthening sunlight. Try to focus on the path ahead. After a bit of wind-bashing and scuffing up the hillside, there's a new noise. Derald must hear it too, cause he stops. I hold in a sigh of relief and crouch down. After a few seconds of catching my breath, I mimic him. This proves to be just as hard. Who the hell crouch-walks up a mountainside? But I hold in my thoughts. When he glances back at me, I just nod to say I'm fine and I hear the weird noise.

The boys now reach the top of the trail but as they reach the top the noise gets closer and soon Deluna is now facing them on the trail.

He continued on forward before he noticed a shadow coming forth. Derald halted, standing in his place as he saw the d4 girl in front of them. Someone he hasn't seen in a long time. No amount of grass could hide them away while they came face to face with her. "Well, howdy," a side of his mouth tugged up. He looked back to Xavy, giving questioning eyes on what he wanted to do. He shrugged though, might as well get it over and done with; the audience is probably getting bored. He turned back to the d4 girl, memories of Rob flashed by as he stared. The back of his mind reminded him that he'll never see the d4s the same way ever again; now they're just like any other career. And careers mean problem. He noticed how her face was smeared with blood, but she was not exactly injured much. Blood's not hers, so what else could be up there? Derald kept his smile on, gritting his teeth at the same time as he went in for a hit. He was not waiting around like a sitting goose to let her have the first hit. He stepped back after slashing the knife at her, glancing to Xavy to see if he would -or more like could- join him.

People. That was the "weird noise". Or a person. After a second, I realize she's the other Four. I roll my eyes as Derald calls tries to play it casual. We're going to have to kill her and I'm not about to let her hit first. I follow Derald, hoping he can distract this tribute long enough for me to figure out how to fight one-handed. When he steps back, I step in to hit her with the shield. "Don't count me out of the fun," I say as I back away. But it feels weird as I put the shield up for defense when I can't move my arm.

Deluna was expecting a calm, sane walk back down the base of the mountain, without meeting another tribute. Well, she was dead wrong. The boy she had first seen at the cornucopia was there, with a friend. She was almost sure she could escape, but he was seen her, and had an gleam in his eyes than looked anything but helpful. Her eyes got wide, before realizing that they were attacking her."You have a sick version of fun, Twelve," she responded, instantly trying to block the attack from the boys.

She knew she would have to get hit, but hoped she could escape this somehow. Deluna didn't want to die at the hands of someone she hadn't killed before. She wondered if they had figured she was just as manipulative as others could be, by the blood on her jawline. Did they think she was a psycho? The girl frowned, her grip on her weapon tightening as she sent a blow towards the district twelve boy. Deluna figured she could escape, eventually.

"There's people up there, crazy people, they did this, not me!" she snapped, wiping the blood with the back of her hand. Deluna would have to clean that off later, assuming she lived that long.

The thin trail was hard to maneuver on...one wrong step and a tribute could easily end up tumbling over the side of the mountain. In the distance the tributes can notice the tops of the large trees moving around as if something was moving around pushing thw branches out of the way as if they were nothing but small twigs. From what anyone could tell the woods didnts seem so desolate anymore as a few mops of hair could be seen peeking up over the canopies of trees.

Derald wiped his knife at the bottom of his shirt, seeing Xavy run in to smash her with the shield. But the 4 was fast; fast enough to get away but not fast enough to escape just yet. Derald tired to shift his feet to block any path to let her go. The path itself wasn't very wide but she could always take the au naturale way and go down by the sides. But who knows what lurked down there. Derald knew that after they trudged their way up here he was so not going back down there. He went up to hit the knife away from Xavy, taking long strides towards 4 and slashed down his own knife at her, "We ain't sayin' that you did it." He shrugged, pacing back as he glanced at the ground, making sure he didn't step over and down the mountain. "And believe us, there are loopy things everywhere. Those up there aren't the only things with a loose screw." Whoever they were. He didn't really know who she was talking about, trolls, giants, tributes, human mutts, but all he knew was everything out here was whacky. People or not.

My shield's already up for a block when I see Derald trying to swat the girl's knife away. I nod to him, but keep myself covered anyway. "Not like it matters," I say. It's the Hunger Games. What did she expect? Dying of natural causes? I step forward, following up Derald's swipe with another shield-bash, dipping down and aiming upwards this time. Then I step back again, moving slower than I'd like in order to keep my balance. When did it get so crowded here? I shift my position slightly, trying to help Derald block her path down. If you think about it, we're doing her a favor.

Deluna didn't respond to the two of them, figuring she was better off without their words. At least they didn't think she was one of those crazys. Not that she cared, but it could be helpful to have your sanity in the hunger games. At least she hoped it was. In all honesty, people weren't quite right after winning the games. No one ever really won.

The girl expected another attack from the boys, and tried to deflect the attack. Deluna knew she couldn't go back down the mountain, and she didn't really want too. Something big was moving out there, something that she wanted to avoid. So instead, she decided to flee back to the crazys. At least they looked smaller than these two.

Turning on her heel, the girl headed back up the mountain, yo what she had been avoiding. Go figure.

Deluna turned and moved back up the trail towards the spring again, feeling the steel hit against her skin fron Derald's knife. Just as she moved up the mountain 3 of the titans popped out of the trees looking up the trail at thw two boys bit unable to reach them but waiting to see if they'd come down. Jaden, Marty and Robert all smile widely at them waiting with opeb arms to see what they'd do next.

Derald muttered a swear under his breath as she still run out of their grasp, back to where she came from. He stepped back closer to the middle of the trail rather than the outline. "And that ended before it even started," He sighed, pushing back annoying strands of hair that got in his way of vision. Who would've thought that she'd actually run back? And then the shadows that started to form on them gave him his answer. Derald could more or less guess what came along before he even turned around but he felt obligated to do it anyways. Guess it was more of an assurance that the Games weren't getting into his head yet and those trolls really were there. He stared at not one, but three of those things, glancing to Xavy before going back to them. He let out a short, pathetic laugh, almost unsure if they were being fooled around by them. He recognised one of them immediately, the other just becoming a little more familia- but what the hell, who has the time to even care about guessing the name game right now? This time he turned his head fully to Xavy, eyes darting to behind them, they're only path left to go. And well if Deluna was willing to go back to those 'crazy' people, they might'swell join in the party. He did a lil' bow to the trolls, skipping backwards as he did so, "Nice to see ya'll could make it but I reckon that the buffet was that way." He pointed somewhere far south west, to wherever that led. He just couldn't help say something knowing that Xavy would just yell at them to get the hell outta there and prolly find 4 again. With that he bolted upwards, slowing down to keep Xavy in check while they wind their way up what's left of the trail up.

"Doesn't it always," I say, watching the girl run back up the trail. So much for the crazies. I shift again on the path, giving Derald more room. I take one glance back and feel the color draining from my face. Of course, it's natural there's more. No wonder the girl would rather head back up the trail. For a moment I just stand there, not knowing how best to respond. Then Derald starts talking again. He never did learn, did he? "Dude, just run." With that, I'm spinning around and heading up the trail, going as fast as I dare.
