Cliff Time

I looked at both Rhea and Josh, "Josh, I'll stay up with Rhea. I had the most sleep last night and you hardly got any." I said and then I came over to him, "Thank you for blocking for me by the way." I say and then gave a quick peck to his cheek and then I opened my bag and pulled out my water and took a sip from it.

Josh smiled and he was happy it was dark, because he was blushing. "here is your sword" he takes it out and puts it in her hand. he walks over to his bed and watches as the capitol emblem and anthem were displayed. no dead tributes tonight. he does his recap and falls asleep, he will be awake when it is his shift.

I smiled as Josh went off to bed, that's when I stood up and stretched. I carried my bag with me. "Alright, Rhea, you can stay and watch them, I want to go check out the southern cliffs a bit. I'll scream for help and if you hear me..Well wake up some of the others and just come but I think I am able to handle myself." I said with a smirk and began to walk off.

Rhea smiled a little as she looked up at the girl. "Ok, if I hear anything I will wake someone up. But I think you will be fine. Be careful." She continued to sit there, hugging her knees and staring into the fire. She watched as the flames danced around as she continued to eat her apple. She watched as the other slept peacefully.

Footsteps of a tribute can be heard coming from the southern cliffs, it could be Maria returning, or maybe not.

Rhea sat in the quiet for awhile, enjoying the quiet after the chaos that occurred earlier today. She snapped back to reality when heard the noise and immediately grabbed her spear. She stood up and waited to see who was approaching. "Who is there?"

I came back over to the west cliff and heard Rhea, "No worries, Rhea, just me Maria." I said and then I sat down on the ground and hugged my knees to my chest, I wasn't going there for awhile I could assure you that, not during the night when I couldn't see anything. I pulled out the beef strip I had nibbled off of before and took a few nibbles and put it back. I then stared at the fire. "I'm probably going to bed soon." I told Rhea.

Josh woke up to see Maria back. "Oh hey maria, what was down in the south cliffs?" He asked obliviously.

The fire seemed to have no effect on Maria, failing to warm her from the chills of her recent adventure.

Rhea moved a little closer to Maria. Obviously worried by her more reserved demeanor. "Hey, are you ok? You seem...quiet. Well more quiet than normal. Do you need anything?" She finished eating the rest of her apple and tossed the core. It filled her up enough to where she wasn't going to feel peckish in the morning.

I stared at the fire, I heard both of them but I didn't know exactly what to say. "I found another entrance to the caves." I mumbled quietly and I rubbed my arms lightly. "I think I need sleep." I said unsure and then continued to look in the fire, "I don't exactly want to sleep either." I said quietly.

"Josh's eyes opened wide, whoah guys we might wanna export back a little, and Maria... You need to show us that tommorow" josh said as a he expired back a little.

The apple core could be heard hitting the ground, one bounce, two, nothing. The tributes realize the apple core had already went over the edge of the cliff, reminding them of how close a quick fall to their doom was.

I sighed and decided to shift things over a bit and then I shook my head, "No time to waste with it tomorrow, we should probably head over and see what still remains of Snow and then find Chaos." I say and yawn a bit.

Genevieve peeked out of her hole, glancing down at the group. Unfortunately she leaned out a bit too far and slid down next to the group. "Umm hi." she said weakly. But really she was thinking Oh crap. Now what have I done? Genevieve stood up slightly, getting ready to scramble away if she needs too. But she saw Rhea there. Genevieve glared at her before flicking her eyes to the rest of the group.

Rhea shifted herself over, realizing just how close she was to the edge. She looked at Maria, "Hey why don't you try sleeping. You will feel better. And I can handle watch, if I need something than I will wake you or Josh up." She tried to give Maria a comforting smile, something to put her mind at ease and get her to relax a bit after whatever it is she experienced. That was when she heard the footsteps and then the voice. She turned to see Genevieve standing there. The girl glared at Rhea, and she couldn't help but look down and feel horrible for yelling at her.

Josh walked away from the campfire but not after patting Maria on the back and telling her "just stay strong and don't worry about that little incident. We will check it out tommorow." He stepped away and got in his sleeping bag.

I had nodded when Josh went to bed but soon enough there was a noise and a girl came near our group. She wasn't in our alliance and our group was already big enough in my thoughts. I looked at her, it was night time I was tired, she was probably tired. "Look girl, I'll let you have a choice, you can escape now and go find somewhere else to be or you can stay and possibly get attacked, I don't feel like attacking right now but if I must I will." I say firmly, I just wanted to sleep.

Rhea heard the choice Maria put out there. She waited for Genevieve to decide. She hoped that Genevieve would take the offer and go. She wanted to talk to her so bad, to tell her something. But she didn't. She couldn't give the people she was with any reason to turn on her. She could only look down, she couldn't look the girl in the eyes. The girl she felt she had betrayed, the one who was now in front of her hoping for some help. But...this was the games. She had to remember that, and she had to remember to do things that would keep her alive, not necessarily what she would have done if she were back home. She hated conflict, yet here in the arena that was all there was. Conflict, and it seemed that there might be more soon. She hoped that it didn't come down to it though, she could only hope.

"I'll escape. Bye!" Genevieve said hurriedly. She scrambled up the cliff, away from the group. She saw the passage she had come from, but she wouldn't go there again. She needed somewhere where there was food. One apple would not feed her for long. Genevieve finally scrambled away from the cliffs and quickly walked away.

I yawned once again, "Alright I suppose I will go to bed I said and took my backpack off and placed it near the sleeping tributes but also near me. I looked at my choices for sleep, either get in a sleeping bag with Brandon or get in a sleeping bag with Josh. I didn't fee like waking Brandon so I crawled over to Josh's sleeping bag and I climbed in. Good thing I was smaller than most people. I felt warmth as soon as I was inside the sleeping bag.

"Yea get some sleep. You will feel better after some rest. I'm not tired, and I couldn't sleep even if I was. I will take watch, I guess in a few hours I will wake on of you up to take over." Rhea cradled her knees as she sat in the quiet. The fire burned bright and she just watched the flames. She thought about everything that happened, her maneuvering through the boulder maze, the attack at the Clay Pit, the fact that she was now with the group she was with. It had only been 2 days and yet it seemed that the Capitol had no shortage of entertainment. She looked at the sky, looking at the stars and thinking of Roe; a smile broke out on her face. Thinking of Roe always made her happy, and thinking of home was just what she needed right now.
