Running Errands

Kaira walked into the market with a small basket. She had to get outside. otherwise, she would've drowned in her tears by now. The feast was killing her. She sighed and looked at the little scrap of paper in which a few ingredients were written on, for the bakery. The very first thing: Milk. Milk. Kaira suddenly broke down and started to cry bitterly. She hated all this.

Every day, she hoped that this-this fiasco was all a dream. But it never was. Kaira could never stand it. If Skye died- how would she live? she had already lost her father. She didn't need another member of her family gone. She had never expected it to happen. Fate was so cruel.

Faye made her way down the streets of the upper district. She tugged on her shirt a bit as she moved, twisting the bottom until there was a slight wrinkle left over after she let go. She knew she needed to get a few things, but Faye really wasn't in any rush to get back home. Faye hadn't been watching the games, she knew she needed to but they just weren't the kind of thing that she was to particularly interested in. There was only one more tribute that was representing district 4 left and the talk around the district was that there was a 'feast' going on and that right now things weren't looking good for the boy from district 4.

Faye was walking along when she noticed the girl from the beach. Right...her brother is the one in the games. Faye tried to walk past her but then that nagging, guilty feeling started to well up in her stomach. She looked back, noticing that no one else was stopping to help the girl as she lie on the ground. She turned around and knelt down next to the young girl. It was a repeat of the beach, Faye could only awkwardly pat the girl on the back. "Hey....umm...are you ok?" That was really all that she could spit out. She didn't know what else she could say to the girl in front of her.

The tears never stopped. Times were hard right now, and she had no way of escaping. In the back of her mind, she knew that nothing could help her get away from the situation. She wiped the tears away and gulped hard.
"It''s just...just..." She couldn't produce another wors. She was literally choaking up.
