The District 8 escort steps up on stage and smiles with blindingly white teeth. She starts speaking in a high pitched voice, "Welcome everyone to the Reapings! Today one young man and woman will be chosen to participate in the 33rd Annual Hunger Games!" She steps up to the big bowls containing the names of every child in the district, from 12 to 18. Her hands hover above the bowls for a second, as if deciding something. "Now then, Ladies first!" she says, and reaches into the bowl filled with girls names...

Callum tugged at his loose shirt nervously making his way after the signal was made to ring them up here. He ever thought about just cooping up somewhere and never attending this, but they'd probably find him anyways. 'Go on,' one of the Peace Keepers shooed him off soon after he signed in. "Thank you.." Callum mumbled, bowing his head slightly as he quickly shuffled towards the bulk of 17 year olds, all in the same boat; scared, nervous, unwilling. No one else from his family was around, his grandma had to tend to the farm, his sister was way too young to be seeing something like this, and his mother? She probably forgot about such a day. He glanced to the boy left of him and smiled in regards, as if saying hi to him. Not much a response back but Callum didn't mind as he stared back in front. He was among the taller boys around and Callum took it to his advantage to take his unsettling mind of things to just glance around to different people; the young kids, to the boys, the girls, the adults, the stage, the humongous screen that seemed surreal. But even with all the distractions, it was still unnerving just standing there, thinking about what would happen to Yulissa if he.. well never came back from here. Callum sighed, making his fringe fly around as he exhaled deeply. Maybe nothing would happen. Maybe they'll all go back safe. And maybe everything will go wrong.

Medea did not want to be hear at all. Not one bit. These reapings were never fun but ever since her brother was reaped and picked for the games coming to this square was like ripping open a wound that had finally started to heal and pouring salt in it. Not to mention the fact that there was a chance that she herself would be picked to compete and if she was the odds of a volunteer were basically nothing. This was the one day of the year that a smile could not be seen on Medea's face and for very good reason.

Medea pulled a little on the blue skirt she had on as she nervously shuffled to her assigned area. She was placed about 2/3 of the way from the aisle in the section designated for the 16 year old girls. She felt so lost in the sea of faces and didn't recognize anyone near her at all and when she looked further behind her she could not see her two younger sisters anywhere. Now without he comfort of a familiar face anywhere in sight she looked ahead and hoped it would be over soon. She hoped the names would be read and the decisions made so that she could go home and be back with her family. Her whole family.

Martial goes to the square alone. He tries to find June, as he knows that she has to be here. Its part of the law. He can't see her anywhere though. He just looks down and ignore anyone as he gets in his spot ready for the reaping.
