She swung and swung and sometimes she felt herself make contact with something, but mostly all she could feel was the sinking ache in the pit of her stomach. Something whizzed by her face and she stumbled back. Her throat felt like sandpaper and there was an annoying echo of a noise invading her brain and she realized she had screamed. She searched around in the air with her hand and finally found her mouth, which she covered. Where am I? she wondered, not even really sure who "I" was at the moment. She had an odd feeling that she didn't actually want the answer to her question.

Everything around Lorcan was beginning to get blury. He struggled to stay up and focused on the fight. He attempted to block the attack from the boy. Lorcan's arms and legs were numb and he could no longer feel the pain that was plaguing him. The girls block and attack both missed, so Lorcan decided to change focus to the boy. He swung his weapon with as much strength as he could must, he knew it probably would'nt be much, but he couldn't give up now.

Leon grinned as he saw his opponent attack him, immediately rolling to the left in an attempt to block the attack and then swung his rubber chicken at the boy, before asking, "Now, wasn't that simple? Attacking me instead of an innocent girl?" Leon was well aware that at this point all of them had lost any innocence, but that wasn't the point. After all, he had killed six people himself and all of them had grown up in fear of being in the position they were in now. Fear pretty much eradicated any innocence one had left, even more so when you had seen people die on television. Leon shook his head and blinked a few times. His was thinking again. And thinking, in his experience, is extremely dangerous.

Something flew out at her once again, and she reached out to counter it, but all she felt was empty air. She didn't feel any new pain, but her feelings weren't a great judge of things right now, so she looked down at herself. She didn't see any of the swinging things on her, or any new red blotches, but she glanced up and her gaze locked on another figure. The thing was coming at the other figure now, and that was bad. Suddenly Auralee experienced an odd sensation that she could only really describe as something akin to having been deep, deep underwater and realizing that you've been slowly drowning this whole time, or maybe just now that you're aware, you feel the need for oxygen again, but the water's pulling you down. She kicked her legs as hard as she could and propelled herself upwards, not sure where she was going, but reluctantly sure that it had to be done. Her clouded stream of consciousness apparently had decided it would only apply to her own mind now, and she had to escape, because she wasn't the only person in the world and she certainly wasn't the only person whom she should pay attention to. She broke the surface and gasped as everything came at her at once. The world and the people in it and the lack of people in it were too much to handle at once, so she narrowed her eyes a bit. The rest of the world was unimportant for the moment, because she'd dragged herself out of the peaceful recluse of her mind for a reason, and she was damn sure going to accomplish it. As Auralee leaned forward to attempt to block the enemy's attack on the other figure - Leon, she remembered, his name is Leon - before it defeated the purpose of surfacing at all, she discovered that she was actually determined, which was uncommon. At least if the games are changing me, there could be some not-terrible aspects brought to life. Auralee frowned. Of course, they would be very much outweighed... The thought gave Aurie the urge to return to her mental safe haven, and she eagerly dove down to it, but she hit metal. Old metal, like she hadn't just left. She felt a panic rise up in her and she banged on the doors, but nothing was working. She would have to find another way in or resort to reality, and reality didn't seem to be something she could really deal with at the moment. Another way, then. Another escape. A partial escape, perhaps, since she'd gone too far, and now that she'd realized where she was the whole time, she wasn't so sure she wanted to go back. A song would have to do, then. Not a lullaby, just a distraction. Something weird enough to give an air of fantasy, but fitting enough to be believable. Like before, though she hadn't even realized it at the time. "I need more dreams and less life," Auralee sang, quietly at first. "I need that dark in a little more light." She opened her eyes all the way and struck at the enemy boy.

"She is not innocent. None of us are." Lorcan growled at the boy. The battle dragged on, no one seemed to be getting anywhere. This meant that Lorcan was doing exceptionally well, considering it was two against one. He had finally landed a hit on the boy, so that was good. Lorcan was distracted for a split second, but it was enough for his enemies to launch an attack. Both had charged him, he knew he could only block one. He turned his attention towards the again, and attempted the block which was immediately followed by a counter attack

Leon finally felt his attack land, realizing it was a solid hit. He was about to go for another when he saw Auralee launch one of her own, and saw that it would finish him. The boy tried to block the attack, but it was futile. And that was when he heard singing. It was a soft, mellow tune, and when he heard it he smiled and looked at Auralee, letting lyrics pour out that he thought would fit. "I cried tears you'll never see... His smile held up for a moment until he realized the boy had managed to get another attack off, so Leon grinded his teeth together as he tried to get out of the way before slamming his rubber chicken into what would soon become a corpse, yelling ~~(yet also making sure to sing cause that works)~~, "SO SCREW YOU, YOU CAN GO CRY ME AN OCEAN, and leave me be..." For the last part he mellowed out a bit and put his back on the wall, sliding down, as he looked at the ceiling of the hallway with a grim look on his face.

The tribute fell dead and the tributes hear the click of the door. And two canons sounding. Somehow both their friends disappeared, the last of their echoes lingering into the mirror, "Go." The door inevitably led up to the sunlight for their first taste of it.

Auralee blocked instinctively for Leon and then watched as the figure before her collapsed. Her breath caught in her throat as one leg hit the floor, then the next, then the arms, torso and finally the head. Auralee's eyes were fixated on the dead body before her. She felt sick. She would have felt worse if she'd really come to terms with what was happening, but even though she'd returned to lucidity, it didn't feel real. She noticed a rush of adrenaline and hoped to whatever creator there was that it wasn't because they'd successfully killed the guy. She knew she was glad that it was over, but she couldn't stop staring at the limbs. They'd been moving wildly all over the place just five seconds ago, and now they were still and cold and dull. She took a deep breath, extended her hand, and gently closed the boy's eyelids. She wasn't sure how well the rest of the song fit their situation, but singing made it easier for her, and the next few words sounded generally comforting, even if they didn't exactly apply. "You are what you love, not who loves you," she sang quietly. She kept her gaze on the dead boy's face for one more second, saying only, "I'm sorry." She knew it meant essentially nothing, but she didn't have the time or energy to really count her sins. She stood, turned away, and didn't look at the body again. Auralee tried the door handle, wondering where it led.

Both attack hit him at the same time, and he knew then that it was over. All the energy left his body, he dropped his weapon, and collapsed, falling to his knees. He looked up at the two tributes, a glazed look on hi face. "You are a good team, dont lose each other." He said to them. As his last breath left his body, "I'm sorry, I tried." he whispered. The he fell forward, sprawling his cold dead body across the floor, in front of the tributes.

The tribute from five watched as the boy collapsed, saying his final words. Finally...they finally killed him. Leon smiled a bit and looked down, but when he did so he saw blood on his hands and the smile was immediately wiped away. He killed someone...this was the seventh person he had a part in killing. He couldn't even remember any of their names, and most he didn't even remember the faces of. Not to mention, back home, she was watching...what did she think of him now? He must seem like a monster after all of this...how could he look anyone in the eye again? He was always happy all the time, never letting his smile fade. And now this happened. The damn Games. Games were supposed to be fun but this? This was hell. Taking the lives of innocent children who didn't do anything wasn't a game. No...it was just a mass execution with a bit of chance. Leon had hoped the Games wouldn't change him, but it seemed like that wouldn't be the case. But he would at least stay strong...he wouldn't give in all the way. And so when Auralee sang her next verse, Leon stood up and began to sing once more. "In a world full of the word yes, I'm here to scream..." He held the last word for a while before turning to Auralee and smiled ever so slightly before turning away, trying to find a camera, and yelled out ~~(Again, still singing yelling)~~, "No, no! Wherever I go, go! Trouble seems to follow, only staying in to save rock and roll, rock and roll! He was pretty sure no one would understand why he wanted to save rock and roll, but it had a meaning to him at least. And right now, whatever was in his mind mattered most.
