I nodded. "I promise." I said truthfully. I didn't trust Hunter but I was beginning to. I bit my lip nervously. I didn't want to have to say goodbye.

Winter hurried up and let out a sigh of relief when her name wasn't called. "Poor tributes..." she muttered to herself. I hope they want this... She thought. She had never really interacted with the tributes, but she still wished them the best. Good luck...

My mom and brother came to say goodbye first. "See you in a month!" My brother said. And we all knew that I was going to win. At least half of District 4 did.

I watched as my family walked in. Fiona and Janet were full out balling and Tarin had slow tears falling down her cheeks. Dad wiped his eyes, trying to hide his tears. I ran to them all and we all bear hugged together. Holly handed me a pair of earrings. I took a closer look at them. They were Mom's old pearl earrings from when she married Dad. "No! I can't take these!" I moved to give them to Mom, but she stopped me. "No. Keep them." She said shakily. Maria and Sidney tried to calm Janet and Fiona but it was no use. I gave a weak smile. "Hey! It's okay! I'm gonna go out there and win or lose, I'm going to think of you, of all of you." I said to Fiona and then to them all. A peacekeeper escorted them out and I sighed and waved. Then I put the earrings on.

Next came my best friend. We talked for a while and he then gave me an anklet. It said, "Hunter. District 4's feared spear." When he left I put it on my ankle. Now I have a token.

I recognized Skylar immediately. I held back my tears and looked away. Skylar and I had almost been friends. In fact, we probably would've been good friends if I wasn't about to go compete in The Hunger Games.

I grin. "Why would you hate to? You did. Maybe in a year or two I'll be your mentor. We all know who's going to win this year and your year anyways." I flexed my muscles. "You'll be me in a few years bud."

I smile, "I'll watch it you win on one of those Fancy TV's they put in the victors houses" I say, relishing the joking.
