Lyndis shifted her feet to get a better stance. she was very observant, and noticed Rachel's hesitation. it didn't surprise her--her father was not exactly a small man, and neither of the two girls were exactly bulky in their builds.

but, Lyndis persevered. she grunted under the weight, but her knees didn't buckle like she thought they would.
"don't mind any other noises I might make," she called out, "I'll be fine."
the going was slow and careful so not to drop the coffin. given the nature of things around this ramshackle district, not to mention those made of wood and filled with the heavy body of a dead man, Lyndis didn't think it would survive an impact with the ground intact if they dropped it. similarly, she didn't think she'd have a pair of feet to walk on if that happened. maybe wearing shoes would be a good idea for once?

but now was not the time, as she had neither the time nor money (nor interest) to rectify her barefootedness. she groaned a bit more under the weight, and even shouted at one time, but when all was said in done, Rachel's father was resting next to her mother, and the coffins were both in place with no real damage.

"give me a moment," Lyndis tried catching her breath, "I don't think these arms will bea ble to pull me out of here quite so soon after that... hooooo..."

Rachel let out a sigh of relief once her father was placed down. She was glad this was over for now. She could at least know that they were resting for eternity together. That’s all she wanted. She was content with just that since she knew there was no where she could bring them back to life.

She held her hand out to Lyndis. Lyndis had done so much for her she couldn’t think her enough. She could never be able to thank her enough. She was glad she had someone like Lyndis right now. She couldn’t imagine what this would have been like if she had never met Lyndis.

Lyndis' knees and arms were aching. she curled her toes just to make sure she could still feel her legs. for that matter, she had to hitch up her trousers, which had slipped below her waist. however, in the dark, and given the length of her baggy shirt, it was hardly noticeable, and so a quick fix did away with the problem altogether. even this seemed taxing on her arms at the moment.

and yet despite the aches and soreness in most of her muscles, she felt happy--content with what she had done. despite being sore, exhausted, and covered in mud, she was in a good mood.
"just a moment," She wheezed, and she spent a few seconds catching her breath before taking Rachel's hand. as the younger girl helped her out of the grave, she sat down on the ground, leaning her head back and heaving another deep sigh.
"Well..." she nodded, "we did it."
it was as if she were waiting to see what Rachel's plans from here was. she knew they'd have to shove the dirt back over the coffins to keep them from being so exposed, and she figured that that was best done as soon as possible.

This was not really her place to call shots, however, and so she left this up to Rachel as well.
