I walked into what would be my room for the rest of my life, It was big with a giant window to see out of. There was a not on my bed.

Brook,

Dinner will be in about two hours, You have free time until then. DO NOT THINK ABOUT ESCAPING You are guarded and jumping out the window won't work either.

Well good to know I thought, and I sat on my bed hoping Milo would come see me.

Milo hadn't seen very much of the tributes, though he'd seen the other trains at the station. He went briefly to his room and glanced around. I didn't tell Will to feed my cats...He told himself it couldn't possibly matter now. The cats would survive without him.

A few minutes later, he walked down the hall to Brook's room, knocking lightly on the door. He was really worried about her, he hoped she would okay.

I cautiously opened the door and seeing Milo there wrapped him in a hug and brought him inside shutting the door, "Milo I.. I feel like a slave.." I said, showing him the note "I mean telling me off about suicide," the tears were starting to come again but I held back.. "I'm being broken inside.." I said "I've never been like this before.."

"You've got to fight it," Milo replied fiercely, the note angering him. "They can't get inside your brain by themselves, Brook. The have some nasty tricks, but you can keep them out. Don't let them in."

I lay back on my bed curling up, "They already have me.." I said, "Thats how my parents 'died' they turned them both into avox's for refusing to treat injured peacekeepers.. than they took me and.." I shuddered "they hurt me real bad." I said "I've felt the hot sting of the whip before."

Milo sat down on the edge and sighed. He hated seeing her in pain. "I'm sorry about your parents," he said, and brushed the hair out of her eyes. He stared out the big window, trying to think of something, anything, they could do. But he was blank. The edge of the cliff. He knew that trying to reason with Brook that he would die so she could win was hopeless. So he kept silent about that.

I sighed with sorrow "It's not your fault.. It's just that- I never thought I'd be here. If Will had been called today I would've volunteered for her." I felt his hand brushing my hair out of my eyes and I looked at him genuine like on my face and I rolled onto my back pulling him down so we were both staring at the ceiling. "I'm at a loss.." I said blankly

"I know," he replied softly. It was all too much. Never seeing his sister or parents, dying, going into the arena, protecting Brook. He reached for her hand and held it tightly.

I squeezed his hand tightly just wanting it to be over, "Milo.." I breathed quietly. "I think I love you" I said even quieter so that it was barely audible. "Every time you tried flirting with me... well I liked it.. and it worked.." I didn't look at his face just held his hand in my quiet silence finally under some control.

Milo couldn't help smiling. "I knew it would work sometime," he joked. He rolled over on his side so he was facing her. "I've liked you since I met you, and since I've known you I've loved you."

I gave him a bitter sweet smile. "Since thats been determined I need you to promise me one thing." I said knowing that he knew what I was about to say "Promise me no matter what you will do it." I said gently kissing him "Swear on Wills life."

Milo put a finger to her lips. "Nope," he said. "Will can take care of herself." A teasing smile formed at the corners of Milo's mouth. "You can't."

"Milo seriously" my eyes pleaded with his "Promise me, if it comes down to me and you. You'll walk away the winner." I searched his eyes looking for I don't know what. "Please Milo, I'm needed much less back home, there is no doubt about that"

Milo's eyes turned serious. "I'm going to protect you with my life, Brook." And then he confessed to Brook what he'd never admitted to anyone. "At home, I was constantly standing in Will's shadow. I love my sister, but my parents showered her with praise and constant love. They got their medical genius, they don't need me. In six I tried so hard to bring down the Peacekeepers once and for all. But how can one kid do something like that? You have a life. You are constantly making new medicines and actually helping people. If you died, people would suffer. They need you. Me? No."

I leaned in kissing him deeply "Think what you want Milo, You're going to win this, not me. I'll put myself out before I let you die," I leaned in again our faces milimeters apart, "I love you Milo, I love you so much I'd give my life for you and to you. Which is exactly my plan." I curled up against him refusing to hear more on the subject

I shivered against him, my body temperature dropping wether from his words or my own impeding sense of doom I don't know but I clung to the only person I knew I wanted right now, "Milo.. I'm cold.." It sounded like a complaint but I think he knew I meant a cold inside and not out.

Milo wrapped his arms around her and sighed into her hair. There was a loud rap on the door. "Dinner!" came a voice, whose he did not know.

I sighed not wanting to get up, "Will you sleep in my room tonight?" I asked "I don't want to be alone." I started getting up not waiting for a response, "I think we're also about to meet our stylists.."

We can Rp as our own stylists or each others up to you ^^ I'll take over our, person thats like Effie

Milo sat down on the bed and stared at the small vial containing the jacker jay wing. Then he lay back on the bed. His eyelids were heavy.

I closed the door behind us quickly asking "Would you like to shower first? Or should I wake you up?" I watched him laying on my bed, knowing that I needed to toughen up if I had any chance of getting him out alive.

"I'll wake you up than," I said smirking "Sorry Milo can't have you getting sick." I went into the bathroom stripping off my nice clothes and stepping into the shower, it wasn't hard to figure out I pressed some of the buttons and got a soothing massage of water on my back. Eventually I finished up and I stepped out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. "Your turn." I said gently shaking Milo awake "Go on I'll turn it on so its nice for you!"

Grudgingly, Milo rolled off the bed and went into the bathroom. Before he undressed, he inspected the shower. There were so many buttons, which one was he supposed to press? He tried one and something green and gel-like oozed onto his hand. He sniffed it and almost lost all of his dinner. These people thought this smelled good?
