The next few seconds were chaos. Milo saw Jacob dive out of the bushes towards Jokk, who dodged out of the way. Why had Jacob tried to tackle him? It only put him in a weak position. But oh well, if he wanted to kill himself that was one less thing for Milo to do. The evil voice in Milo's head told him to attack both of them now, but he was hesitant. Jokk seemed...skilled. He was probably trained for this. And if Milo and Jacob died, who would protect Brook? So Milo stayed next to her, his hand clamped over the wound in his arm, trying to stop the flow of blood. He would let Jacob and Jokk fight it out.

Why wasn't the eleven girl attacking them? He wondered. With the exception of the one arrow she shot at Brook, she wasn't fighting. He was immediately suspicious. What was she planning? He eased himself closer to Brook and whispered under his breath, "I'm thinking that we should attack the Fern girl, and then get out of the area and let Jokk and Jacob fight."

Jokk pulled the spear back, wiping it off, and grabbing both of his knives. He shoved his knives into his backpack, but held his spear firmly. Fern was unguarded, and he had to save her. Still, he didn't know how to use his new spear, and the shot he made was just a lucky shot.

While Jacob was still on the ground, Jokk ran. He ran to Fern, and soon saw Milo and Brook. Jokk held his spear tightly. He stared them straight in the eyes, and he knew Milo wanted to hurt Fern. That wasn't going to happen. Jokk wanted to hurt Jacob, but he seemed like the Ken of the group. Jokk was like Milo, the protector. Fern was like Brook, the group favorite. The only difference was, Ken was dead, Jacob was alive.

"Don't touch her, or you'll have to deal with me." Jokk had earned a sort of reputation being able to block shots so well, and he wasn't a bad shot either. "Just let us go our separate ways. We'll meet again. Please don't touch Fern. I won't touch Brook." Jokk sighed, and whispered something about leaving to Fern. Soon, Jokk had disappeared, running at full speed, hoping Fern was following. The bats should be gone by now. His old camp should still be there.

Jacob had gotten up and ran over to Milo and Brook, "Do we follow?" I ask, knowing that whatever Brook or Milo says will go, but not my opinion, they were district friends, I was the loose string that needed to be cut as soon as possible.

I shook my head, "let them go.." I gasped a breath sharp pain in my leg and rib, "need meds.." I coughed and spat blood on the ground, "Milo, bandages in pack.. hurry." My vision was tinged red and the world was spinning, nothing fatal, but it could be if untreated.

"Bandages," Milo mumbled, searching the pack hurriedly. But his thoughts were like a sentence without a period...everything seemed to be slurring together. Only one thought prevented him from collapsing on the ground, and that was save Brook. He knelt down next her and applied the bandages to her wounds. He didn't care about anything but her now, and if it hadn't been for his state, he would've killed Jacob right then.

Fern was expecting more death, but she didn't want it... So she got herself up swiftly, quiver still on back. They would have to meet again at some point. With one last look back at her enemies, she ran to try to catch up with Jokk.

I sighed relief washing throughout my body, my vision cleared of it's foginess and I could actually sense what real pain I had been in, "Thanks" I managed to say before taking to my knee's. I struggled to think 'Check your equipment' my mind told me. "What supplies do we have left?"
